Warren E. Kelley
Wynantskill
— Warren E. Kelley, 75, of Wynantskill, died Thursday, Oct. 5,
2000, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, after a long illness.
He was
born in Salisbury, the son of the late Wesley and Edna (Rands)
Kelley.
He
received his education in the Dolgeville schools and was a
graduate of the former Hudson Valley Technical Institute in 1948,
where he learned the trade of electrician.
A veteran
of World War II, he served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army
Air Corps in the Pacific.
In 1947,
he moved to Troy and later to Watervliet. He had been a resident
of Wynantskill since 1959. Mr. Kelley owned and operated his
business as Warren E. Kelley Electrical Contractor from 1959 to
1997, when he retired.
He was a
member of Jermain Memorial Presbyterian Church in Watervliet,
where he served as an Elder. He had been chairman of the board of
trustees and was in charge of plant and finance of the church for
many years. He was an avid RPI hockey fan for many years.
Survivors
include his loving wife, Georgia Bauder Kelley; two beloved
daughters, Barbara K. Wagner of Plattsburgh and Carol Kelley
Morgan of Defreestville; two devoted grandchildren, Brad E. Dumas
and Kelley J. Dumas; a sister, Eleanor K. Shea of Danbury, Conn.;
and a brother, David R. Kelley of Montpelier, Vt.
Friends
are invited and may call on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Bowen
Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road in Latham. A funeral service will
be held at Jermain Memorial Presbyterian Church, 601 Fifth Avenue
in Watervliet, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Interment will be in
Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill.
Contributions
in his memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of Jermain Memorial
Presbyterian Church.
Mary L.
Deshane, 40, of
West Street in Malone, died unexpectedly on Oct. 5, 2000, at the
Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, after being stricken at her
home.
She was
born in Massena on April 12, 1960, the daughter of Ralph and the
late Stella (Nason) Deshane Sr.
Calling
hours will be Monday from 9 until 10:45 a.m. at the
Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial
will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in
Malone. Burial will be in St. John Bosco Cemetery in Malone.
Marianne
Peltier, 54, of
Riverview, Fla., died Oct. 2, 2000, in Riverview, Fla.
She was
born in Brockton, Mass., on May 18, 1946, the daughter of Richard
K. and Sarah (Perkins) Eaton.
A
memorial service was held on Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at the chapel
of Serenity Meadows Funeral Home in Riverview, Fla.
Lt. Col.
James Callahan Hefti Sr.,
80, of Charleston, S.C., died on Oct. 4, 2000, in Charleston, S.C.
He was
born in Brooklyn on Feb. 17, 1920, the son of the late Julius A.
and Leonora Genevieve (Callahan) Hefti.
At the
family’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral services
will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., at a
later date, with burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

Cora M. LaBombard
Morrisonville
— Cora M. LaBombard, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at the CVPH
Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was
born on Rand Hill on Oct. 3, 1912, the daughter of George and
Malvina (Bombard) St. Louis.
She was a
member of several senior citizens groups, including the Senior
Center and R.S.V.P., where she was a driver for several years. She
enjoyed cooking and was a member of St. Alexander's Church.
She
married John W. LaBombard on May 7, 1974, at the United Methodist
Church in Plattsburgh. Mr. LaBombard died on Dec. 20, 1985.
She is
survived by several cousins, including Sid St. Louis of
Morrisonville and Rita Boyer of Morrisonville; six grandchildren,
George Comstock of Washington, Lucy Covel of West Chazy, Cora Lynn
Larson of California, Patty Owens of California, Robert Comstock
of Watertown and Norma Hill of Dannemora; 17 great-grandchildren;
several nieces, including Gladys Walker of Malone; several
nephews; and several close friends, including Alice Marquis of
Ithaca, Dorothy Jessey of Plattsburgh, Dorothy Ricci of
Plattsburgh and Alice Bishop of Morrisonville.
Her son,
Robert Comstock, died April 26, 1986. Three brothers, Leo,
Alexander and Leager St. Louis, also died earlier.
At her
request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday from St. Alexander’s
Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in St. Peter's
Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
Memorial
donations may be made to the St. Alexander's Building Fund or the
Make-A-Wish Foundation. The O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in
Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements.
Beulah M. Guay
PLATTSBURGH
— Beulah M. Guay, 86, of Evergreen Valley Nursing Home and
formerly of McMartin Street, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000.
She was
born in Ellenburg on Jan. 5, 1914, the daughter of John and Pearl
(Grimshaw) Malark.
Mrs. Guay
married Arthur Guay at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh in 1937.
She was a
member of St. Peter's Church.
Mrs. Guay
owned and operated Guay's Grocery Store & Cottages on Margaret
Street for 35 years. Later, she was a matron/cook at the Clinton
County Sheriff’s Department until her retirement in 1984.
Survivors
include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Wayne and Kathy Guay
of Plattsburgh, Andrew and Margaret Guay of Cadyville and John
Guay of Saratoga; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mrs. John
(Beverly) Ferrara of Plattsburgh and Rhonda Guay of Plattsburgh;
four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bernard Malark of Warwick,
R.I., Robert and Betty Malark of Florida, Kenneth Malark of
Warwick, R.I., and Morris and Barbara Malark of Providence, R.I.;
one sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Donald (Luella) Conrardy of
Cranston, R.I.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1986; an infant son, Ronald
Guay; one brother, Clayton Guay; and two sisters, Loretta Bird and
Frances Baker.
Calling
hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, from 7 to 9 p.m. at
the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated on Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Burial
will follow in the parish cemetery.

Gladys Rose Hart
Keeseville
— Gladys Rose Hart, 69, of Huntsville, Ala., and formerly of
Keeseville, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at the Huntsville Medical
Center.
She was
born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 24, 1931, the daughter of Raymond and
Irene (LaRose) LaPidus.
She
graduated from Keeseville High School. She was a homemaker and
loving wife and mother to her family.
Survivors
include her husband, Henry J. Hart Sr. of Keeseville; four
daughters, Sharron Hart of New Hope, Ala., Donna Howell of
Huntsville, Ala., Debra Hart of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Cindy
Meadows of San Antonio, Texas; four sons, Henry Hart Jr. of
Plattsburgh, Bruce Hart of Naples, Fla., Stephen Hart of North
Carolina, and Michael Hart of Huntsville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren;
ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Wooley and her husband
Marshall of Niceville, Fla., and Barbara Geno of Plattsburgh; and
one brother, Howard Wemette and his wife Debbie of Plattsburgh.
She was
predeceased by her beloved parents; four brothers, Sonny, Roger,
Eugene and Robert; her sister, Beverly; and her dear son, Dale
Allen Hart.
Calling
hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hamilton
Funeral Home in Keeseville. A graveside service will be held
Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church in Keeseville, with Rev.
Garvin Demarais, pastor, reciting committal prayers.

Bernard K. Genier
Mineville
— Bernard K. Genier, 71, of Federal Street in Mineville, died
Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at his home.
He was
born on Jan. 30, 1929, at Mineville, the son of William and Luella
(Wilson) Genier.
He had
been employed at Republic Steel Corp. in Mineville and for 20
years served with the Town of Moriah Police Department. He served
in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is
survived by his wife, Madeline Priscilla (Facteau) Genier, whom he
married on Nov. 18, 1951.
He is
also survived by two sons, Francis Genier and his companion, Linda
Walter of Port Henry and Joshua Genier of Mineville; two sisters,
Louise O’Connor of Mineville and Gertrude Fairbanks and her
husband John of Mineville; three brothers, Glenn and Loretta
Genier of Buffalo, John and Angie Genier of Mineville and Donald
and Gloria Genier of Connecticut.
He was
predeceased by Anna Genier and William Genier.

hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, from 2 to 4 and 7 to
9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral
service will be conducted Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at 11 a.m. at the

Bernard
L. Bailey, 73, of Duane Street in St. Regis Falls, died
Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at his home, while under the loving care of
his family. He had been in ill health.
He was
born March 7, 1927, in St. Regis Falls, the son of the late Wilbur
and Dorothy (Williams) Bailey.

"Myra" Gebo

— Mrs. Elmira G. "Myra" Gebo, 83, formerly of Monty
Street, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at the Meadowbrook Health Care
Facility.
She was
born in Plattsburgh on April 25, 1917, the daughter of the late
Clifford H. and Elmyra (Garrant) Reeves.
She was
the widow of Roland F. Gebo, who died Aug. 19, 1989.
Myra
enjoyed gardening and crocheting and was a member of Our Lady of
Victory Church.
She is
survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Roland
"Ron" and Bonnie Gebo of Plattsburgh and Donald
"Joe" and Donna "Tina" Gebo of Walpole, N.H.;
a daughter and a son-in-law, Beverly and Clifford LaBombard of
Wilton; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pearl and Donald
Latour of Peru, Irene Camacho of New Jersey, and Shirley and Doug
Rushford of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Calling
hours will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a. m. at the Brown Funeral
Home, with a funeral mass to follow in the funeral home chapel.
Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Mausoleum on the Tom
Miller Road.

— Hazel I. Greeno, 82, of River Street in Keeseville, died
Monday, Oct. 2, 2000 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh,
following a lengthy illness.
She was
born in Addison, Vt., on Dec. 30, 1917, the daughter of Stanley 0.
and Evia M. (Bibeau) Barrows.
She was
formerly of Pittsford, Vt., having moved to Keeseville in 1950.
She was
employed at the Vermont Sanitarium for a time, Prescott's Mill in
Keeseville and also worked as a waitress.
She
especially enjoyed being a grandmother and also enjoyed camping
and fishing.
Survivors
include five grandchildren, Cindee Kutcha, Cheryl Barber, Candy
Desotelle, Holly Rock and David Cook; great-grandchildren; several
nieces and nephews; and one very special and dear friend, her
daughter-in-law, Sally Cook Hues.
She was
predeceased by her husband, Maurice F. Greeno; her son, Arnold L.
Cook; and five brothers, Lawrence L., Cecil A., Donald R., Lester
and Babe Barrows.

— Mrs. Bertha C. (Badger LaRose) Gonyea, 90, of the Flat Rock
Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was
born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 12, 1910, the daughter of the late
George E. and Emma (Badger) Badger.
Bertha
was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking. She was a member of the
Saranac Senior Citizens and St. Alexander’s Church in
Morrisonville.
She was
predeceased by her husband, Leonard Gonyea; a sister, Olive Welch;
and a brother, Lewis Badger.
She is
survived by five stepsons and their spouses, Marvin and Jennette
Gonyea of Hudson Falls, Armond and Linda Gonyea of Fort Edward,
Gary and Patricia Gonyea of Pulaski, Gerald and Virginia Gonyea of
Greenbrier, Tenn., and Donald and Byrle Gonyea of Hudson Falls;
two stepdaughters, Verna Desourdy of Hudson Falls and Gloria Bren
of Trail, Minn.; a sister, Rita LaVarnway of Saranac; several
stepgrandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.

Kenneth S. Thayer
Altona
— Kenneth S. Thayer, 68, of 8 Irona Road, died Sunday, Oct. 1,
2000, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, after a seven-year
battle with emphysema.
He was
born in Oil City, Pa., on May 26, 1932, the son of Easton and
Marie (Cramer) Thayer.
He
married Janice Bushey on Oct. 18, 1959, in Cumberland Head,
Plattsburgh.
He served
in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1972. He was a veteran of the
Korean War, where he served as a hydraulics engineer.
He then
was employed at Kason Corporation in Champlain until their
relocation. For the next 13 years, he was employed at Plattsburgh
State, until his retirement in 1994.
Survivors
include his wife, Janice; two daughters, Jacqueline and her
husband Robert Hostler of Carson City, Nev., and Karen and her
husband Kenneth Barcomb of Altona; and one son, Kenneth and his
fiancee Leslie Pageau of Altona. His three grandchildren, Justine
and Chelsea Barcomb and Easton Hostler, also survive him.
Kenneth
was predeceased by his mother, Marie Cramer and his father, Easton
Thayer; his sister Marjorie and his brothers, Richard and William.
Honoring
Mr. Thayer's wishes, there will be no services. Mr. Thayer wanted
his body donated to research to further the study of lung disease.
He was sent to Albany Medical Research College.
Any
donations in his memory may be made to the Altona EMS.
Garland
E. "Nick" Nichols, died Sept. 27, 2000, in Holiday,
Fla. He was born in
South Hill, Va.
Services
were held at Episcolpal Church in New Port Richey, Fla., on Sept.

— Marian A. Knox, 70, of Wildwood Estates, died Friday,
September 29, at her home.
She was
born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York on August 6, 1930, the
daughter of Henrick and Frances (Michelitsch) Anderson.
She was
co-owner of the North Country Club Restaurant in Keeseville and
had previously worked for the Brooklyn Eagle and Press-Republican
newspapers.
She was a
member of the Peru Community Church for many years.
Survivors
include one son and daughter-in-law, Dana, Jr., and Petra Knox of
Edison, N.J.; one daughter, Laura Fout of Plattsburgh; six
grandchildren, Autumn, Talitha, Christian, Susanna, Seth and
Bobby; two great-grandsons, Stuart and Ross; one sister, Edith
Kenney of Marietta, Georgia; and one brother, Henry Anderson of
Brooklyn, New York.
She was
predeceased by her husband, Dana E. Knox, Sr., in September 1979.
Calling
hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. from
the Lester E. Thew Funeral Home in Peru. A funeral service will be
held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Peru Community Church in Peru
with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Parker, pastor, officiating. Burial will
follow in God’s Acre Cemetery.

Pearl Amelia Trombley

— Pearl Amelia Trombley, 79, of San Antonio, Texas, died
Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at Pocono Medical Center in East
Stroudsburg, Pa.
She was
born in Plattsburgh on Aug. 24, 1921, daughter of Albert and
Gertrude May (Laundry) Trombley.
Pearl
lived in Plattsburgh until 1977, moving to San Antonio, Texas. She
was a member of St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh and enjoyed
bowling, bingo, crafts, crocheting and knitting.
Pearl is
survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Theresa Goldbaum
of San Antonio, Texas, Bonnie and Eugene Walraven of Long Pond,
Pa., Nancy Bernard of Cadyville and Gail and Robert Fairweather of
Edgewood, Wash.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence and
Carolyn Trombley of Hondo, Texas, and Timothy and Andrea Trombley
of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Theresa Martineau of Ocala,
Fla., and Judy Blair of Peru; two brothers and a sister-in-law,
Irwin "Bozo" and Bernadette Parent of Morrisonville and
Michael "Mickey" Parent of Plattsburgh; fourteen
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
Pearl was
predeceased by her husband, Louis Lawrence Trombley, in 1971; and
one granddaughter, April Bruce.

Louis A. Boire
CHAZY —
Louis A. Boire, 80, of Route 9, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at
the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was
born in Coopersville, on March 2, 1920, the son of Alexander and
Amelia (Tetreault) Boire.
He
married Evelyn Rider on July 27, 1942, in Sacred Heart Church in
Chazy. Louis and Evelyn were the owners and operators of Boire's
Florist, Inc. in Chazy for 32 years.
He had
previously worked with Maynard Trombly as a carpenter during the
construction of the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base, as a
mechanic for Wm. Finney and Son, John Deere Sales and Service in
Plattsburgh, in animal husbandry and as a school bus driver for
Hearts Delight Farm in Chazy.
Mr. Boire
was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Knights of Columbus
Council 3525 of Champlain and a former member of the Plattsburgh
Elks Lodge 621 and Plattsburgh Moose Lodge 2390.
Survivors
include his wife, Evelyn; two daughters, Barbara and her husband
Robert Clark of St. Albans, Vt., and Diana Boire and Alan Adorisio
of Essex Junction, Vt.; one son, Steven and his wife Ellen Boire
of Chazy; nine brothers and sisters, Leo and Eva Boire of Clinton,
Mass., Donald and Geneva Boire of West Chazy, Orel and Theresa
Boire of Chazy, Marcel and Joyce Boire of Altona, Madeline and
Donald Favreau of Chazy, Germaine and John Giles of Seffner, Fla.,
Gabriel and Marie Boire of Westboro, Mass., Roger and Rose Mary
Boire of Beekmantown and Arthur and Jeanne Boire of Point au
Roche; five grandchildren, Timothy and wife Lina Clark, Brian

"Bud" Dumas,
94, of the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone and formerly of
Pike Street in Fort Covington, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at
the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.
He was
born in Constable on Aug. 12, 1906, the son of the late William
and Emma (Bova) Dumas.
Calling
hours will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cappiello-McKenzie
and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington. A Mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s
Church with the Rev. Martin Farrell officiating. Burial will be in
the new St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Covington.
