Ina R. Patterson
Morrisonville
— Ina R. Patterson, 67, of Soper Street, died Wednesday, Sept.
27, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was
born in Lake Placid on Jan. 14, 1933, the daughter of Vernon and
Martha (Sears) Riley.
She was a
nurse's aid at Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Plattsburgh for
several years.
She was a
member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Plattsburgh. She
enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Survivors
include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Willis and Cathy
Durgan of Mooers, Matthew and Debbie Durgan of Missouri, Steven
Durgan of Plattsburgh and Matthew Patterson of Nebraska; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Michael Franklin of
Amsterdam and Kim and David Mallinger of Michigan; two sisters and
two brothers-in-law, Marie and Art Rumney of Port Kent and Ada and
Ira Silverthorn of Lisbon; two brothers and one sister-in-law,
Patrick and Judy Riley of Jay and Verlond Riley of Ohio; two
sisters-in-law, Carolyn Riley of Peru and Barbara Riley of Ithaca;
13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her first husband, Steven Durgan, and her second
husband, Ed Patterson.
A
memorial service will be held Saturday, at 3 p.m. at the Lester E.
Thew Funeral Home in Peru, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Parker, pastor of
the Peru Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the
Schuyler Falls Cemetery.

John F.
Mulvana, 60, of
Salmon Street in Fort Covington, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at
his home, while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of
the North Country, Inc.
He was
born in Malone on Jan. 19, 1940, the son of the late William and
Loretta (Cunningham) Mulvana.
A calling
hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in
Hogansburg on Tuesday, Oct. 3. A Mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, with
Msgr. Clarence Devan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s
Cemetery in Bombay. Immediately following the committal at the
cemetery, the family will receive guests at a luncheon at the Fort
Covington American Legion.

Robert Joseph Blair
SCHUYLER FALLS — Robert Joseph Blair, 78, of Turner Road, and
formerly of Treadwells Mills, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at
the Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt.
He was born in Plattsburgh on May 31, 1922, the son of John and
Eva (Agoney) Blair.
Mr. Blair worked as a laborer for the New York State Department
of Transportation. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Survivors include one son, James "Bill" Blair and his
companion, Theresa Stone, of Schuyler Falls; one sister, Alice
Bishop of Morrisonville; one brother and sister-in-law, Leon and
Lucille Blair of Plattsburgh; nine grandchildren; and several
stepchildren.
Mr. Blair was predeceased by his first wife, the former
Margaret Martino in 1963; his second wife, Anna Collins, who died
in 1984; one brother, Roger Blair; and one granddaughter, Laura
Collins.
There will be no public calling hours. A funeral service will
be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the R.W. Walker Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
Memorial donations may be made to the Adirondack Humane Society
in Plattsburgh.

George S. Sipos
Queensbury — George S. Sipos, 75, of Queensbury, died
Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, unexpectedly at Glens Falls Hospital.
He was born on June 20, 1925, in New York City. He was a U.S.
Navy Veteran, serving in World War II.
George started his teaching career in Malone, then moved to
Altona. He taught at Lake George Elementary School and then
retired from the New York Department of Corrections with over 26
years of service. Mr. Sipos also had his Principal License and
taught summer classes at Skidmore College.
He was a member of the Elks BPOE Lodge Post 81, was past
Exalted Ruler, a trustee and editor of the Northern District for
the New York State Elks. He was also a member of the American
Legion of South Glens Falls and the Warren County Mounted Sheriff
Patrol in Lake George.
George loved horses, dogs and all animals, as well as traveling
and being an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Shirley T. (Burl) Sipos
of Queensbury; his daughter, Elly Burlingame and her husband
Reginald of Glens Falls; and his granddaughter, Tiffini Burlingame
of Albany.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at
Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury. BPOE
will conduct a Lodge of Sorrow at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral
services will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at
the funeral home. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery at
10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2.

Margaret R. Beauharnois
CADYVILLE — Margaret R. Beauharnois, 78, of Route 3, died
Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in
Plattsburgh.
She was born in Dannemora on Feb. 23, 1922, the daughter of
Frank and Mary (Bouyea) Drollette.
Margaret worked at Georgia-Pacific for 27 1/2 years, until her
retirement in 1984.
She was a member of St. James Church in Cadyville.
Survivors include one son, Donald Beauharnois of Cadyville; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and John St. Germain of
Cadyville and Margaret "Peggy" and Richard Stone of
Cadyville; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Eukie
Drollette of Saranac; seven grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward, who died in 1981;
five brothers, Walter Drollette, Arthur Drollette, Huey Drollette,
Bernard Drollette and Frederick Drollette; and four sisters,
Valerie Bunker, Esther Hemmingway, Stella Dukette and Anna May
Dutko.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11
a.m. in St. James Church in Cadyville. Burial will follow in the

Cornie M. Barcomb
Altona — Cornie M. Barcomb, 96, of Altona, passed away
Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in
Plattsburgh.
She was born in Sciota on Aug. 10, 1904, the daughter of Elie
and Emile (Bleau) Naro.
Cornie was a member of Holy Angel's Church in Altona and a
former member of Clinton County Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
Cornie was predeceased by her husbands, Madison Stickles and
Edward Barcomb; her stepson, Wilfred Barcomb; and her brother,
Richard Naro.
Cornie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and
Rosemary Stickles of Rome; six grandchildren; and several great-
grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11 a.m. from Holy

Lester E. Goss, 60, of Altona, died Wednesday, Sept. 27,
2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Mooers on April 7, 1940, the son of Ralph and
Hazel (Sharrow) Goss.

will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel.

Helen M. Gratton, 85, of the Buell Road in Fort Covington,
died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at CVPH Medical Center in
Plattsburgh.
She was born in Constable on May 4, 1915, the daughter of the
late Francis and Virginia (Duquette) Bushey.

— Helen M. (Millard) Duggan died Sept. 27, 2000.
She was
born on Jan. 29, 1919.
She was
the loving wife of the late Timothy; the adoring mother of Mary
Geraldine; and is survived by two grandchildren.

J. Yanulavich
Lyon
Mountain — Ignatius James "Iggy" Yanulavich, died
Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at his home, while gardening.
He was
born in Lyon Mountain on Nov. 17, 1926, the son of Frank and
Louise (Shusda) Yanulavich.
Mr.
Yanulavich married the former Mary Ahern in Redford in 1953. They
were married until her death in 1998.
He was a
Navy Seaman First Class and served on the U.S.S. Rocky Mount in
the Pacific Theater of World War II, mostly in the Philippines and
Shanghai. He re-enlisted after World War II and was in the
inactive reserve during the Korean War.
He worked
in the iron ore mines at Lyon Mountain before and after World War
II. "Iggy" was also employed as an inspector for the
several nuclear missile sites in upstate New York and northern
Vermont. He held several titles while working at Plattsburgh Air
Force Base as a civilian from 1965 to 1989, mostly as production
controller, where he retired.
"Iggy"
was a Sorrell-Woodward Post 1623 American Legion commander in 1950
and the treasurer there from 1973 to 1983. He was honored for
being a continuous member for 53 years.
"Iggy"
was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman and devoted Yankees
fan. He was one of the founders and treasurer of the
Merry-Go-Round Hunting Club.
He is
survived by his eight children, Michael, Kathy, Lois, Mark, Terry,
Paul, Steven and James; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Shawn,
Daniel, Christopher, Sacha, Alec and Anika; three siblings, Mary,
Alex and John; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling
hours will be held on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Lyon
Mountain Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday from St. Bernard's Church in Lyon
Mountain. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

— Dorothy A. Pinalis, 91, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at the
Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.
She was
born in Lyon Mountain on June 17, 1909, the daughter of John and
Constance (Koznski) Petrofsky.
Her
husband Charles died earlier. Two brothers also died earlier.
She is
survived by several cousins and friends.

He was
born April 27, 1930, in Malone, the son of Charles J. and Nettie

Raymond W. Germain
Jacksonville,
Fla. — Raymond W. Germain, 83, passed away on Sept. 17, 2000.
Mr.
Germain moved to Jacksonville from Waverly, N.Y., in April of this
year and was originally from Plattsburgh.
Raymond
W. Germain is survived by his wife of 23 years, Vera A. Germain;
three daughters, Cheryl Roark and Rosemary LaValley, both of
Jacksonville and Deborah Dubuque of Virginia Beach, Va.; nine
grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four stepdaughters,
Ruth Wryman of Addison, Gladys Cooney of Gilray, Calif., Ellen
Carpenter of Addison and Lois Cooke of Woodbridge, Va.
Services
were held on Tuesday, Sept. 19th, at 2 p.m. at Holly Hill Funeral
Home, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Fla.
Elizabeth W. Frangipane
Keeseville
— Elizabeth W. Frangipane, 96, of Chesterfield Street in
Keeseville, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at her home, while under
the care of High Peaks Hospice.
She was
born in Keeseville on March 28, 1904, the daughter of Albert G.
and Sadie M. (Hoag) Winslow.
She
graduated from Keeseville High School in 1921 and from Physicians
Hospital in Plattsburgh as a registered nurse in 1927. She was a
private nurse, having cared for many people throughout her life.
She was a
life member of the Prospect Chapter of the Eastern Star and a
volunteer with the Salvation Army for many years on Long Island.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, her flowers, playing the piano and
knitting.
Survivors
include two daughters, Carol Marshall of Connecticut and Juliet
Barberis of Santa Monica, Calif.; one son, Anthony S. Frangipane
of West Gardner, Maine; three grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by one son, Philip Baber, and one daughter, Beth Ann
Frangipane.
Services
will be held at a date and time to be announced later.

— Susanne S. Murdock, 58, of Lomas Place in Witherbee, died

She was
born March 21, 1942, in Port Henry, the daughter of the late
Howard Swan Sr. and the late Rita Trapasso.
She
married William Murdock on June 4, 1966.
Sue
worked at the Port Henry Grand Union for more than 20 years, where
she loved her job and the people that she came in contact with
daily. She considered her Grand Union co-workers her extended
family. She devoted much of her free time to her grandchildren.
She is
survived by the following: her husband, William Murdock; her
children, Gina and Tom Catanzarita of Charlotte, Vt., Julie Garcia
of Long Island, Donnie Murdock of Moriah, Ronnie Murdock of

HENRY — Madeline M. Cardinal, 80, of 6 College Street, Port
Henry, died Monday Sept. 25, 2000, at her home.
She was
born on Feb. 2, 1920, in Ticonderoga, the daughter of Oscar and
Dorothea (Crowningshield) Hoyle.
Madeline
was retired from Moses Ludington Hospital where she had worked for
40 years as as Medical Record Director.
She is
survived by her sisters, Margaret Huntley of Ticonderoga, and
Bette Petty of Sunland, Callf; She is also survived by her nieces
and nephew, Linda Baluka of North Plainfield, N.J., Marsha McGowan
of Grand Island. Neb., Ellen Osborn of Fairbury, Ill., Pamela
Petty of Sunland, Calif. and Norman Fields of Port Henry. Her
husband, Dalton Cardinal died on July 29,1989.

FORKS — Charles George Trombley, 64, of Cannon Corners Rd.,
Mooers Forks died Sunday Sept. 24, 2000, at CVPH Medical Center,
Plattsburgh
He was
born in Ellenburg Center, on Oct., 13, 1935. He was the son of
Melvin and Louise (Monette) Trombley.
Charlie
was married to the former Marie Rabideau on Oct. 26, 1963, in St.
Ann's Church, Mooers Forks by Rev. Gilbert Menard.
Mr.Trombley
is survived by his wife of 36 years. A daughter and son-in-law,
Lisa Marie and Leo Santini Jr. of Gloversville; a sister and
brother-in-law, Marie and James Cayea II of Ellenburg Depot; a
brother, Albert Trombley of Ellenburg Depot; five nieces and five
nephews.
Those
that preceded in death were his parents, two brothers, Irvin and
Donald Trombley, a sister; Pearl Appleton.
Charlie
was employed by Knight's Cadilac-Olds in Plattsburgh for 32 years
as an auto body technician. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed
camping.
He was a
communicant of St. Ann's Church, Mooers Forks, member of Knights
of Columbus- Msgr A.M. Gilbert Council # 6136 of Mooers.
Calling
hours will be Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the
Chateaugay Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at
10:30 a.m. Oct. 2, 2000 at St. Ann’s Church. Rev. Gerald Serank

Baptist Hospital in Miami, Fla. She had been a patient there since
Sept. 16.
Born in
Burlington, Vt., April 3, 1911, she was the daughter of the late
Leon and Frances Phillips Tabor.

born in AuSable Forks on June 12, 1927 the son of Edward J. and
Mabel (Miner) Zielinski.
Mr.
Zielinski married the former Marilyn Moomey in Alburg, Vt., in
1955.
He was a
mechanic for Red Star Express in Plattsburgh for 30 years,
retiring in 1988.
Mr.
Zielinski was also an avid flea marketer.
Survivors
include his wife Marilyn; three sons, Russell Zielinski and his
wife Melissa, John Zielinski and his wife Heidi, both of
Plattsburgh and William Zielinski and his wife Mary Lou of
Millidgeville, Ga.; six daughters, Kim Mullan and her husband
Richard of Weston, Fla., Jamie Zielinski of Plattsburgh, Patricia
Rock and her husband Mark of Peru, Martha Bova and her husband
Michael of Keeseville, Karleen Thompson of Colorado Springs,
Colo., and Donna Franconere and her husband Vincent of Albany,
N.Y.; one brother, Edward Zielinski, Sr. and his wife Ruth of
AuSable Forks; two sisters, June Douglas and her husband Robert of
Edgewater, Fla., and Gail LaDuke of Plattsburgh; twenty-three
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling
hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W.
Walker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at
1:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at God’s
Acre Cemetery in Peru.

Violet A. Bahrmann
EAST
NASSAU — Violet A. Bahrmann, 64, of Garfield Road in East Nassau
died suddenly Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 at Berkshire Medical Center
in Pittsfield, Mass. after being stricken at her home.
Mrs.
Bahrmann was born in Port Henry, N.Y., the daughter of Clarence
and Ruth La Ware. She had lived in East Nassau for 37 years.
Survivors
include her husband, Herbert V. Bahrmann Sr.; a son, Herbert V.
Bahrmann Jr. and his wife Joanne of Green Island; two daughters,
Greta O. Koons of Lebanon and Tina Hassen of Fort Plain, N.Y.; and
grandchildren, Christopher Koons, Danielle, Deana and Jason
Hassen.
Relatives
and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at the East
Nassau Cemetery on Garfield Road in East Nassau on Friday, Sept.
29, at 11 a.m. Contributions to the Stephentown Rescue Squad, Box
208, Stephentown, N.Y. in Mrs. Bahrmann’s memory would be
appreciated.

Mary E. Butler
Plattsburgh
— Mary E. Butler, 90, of Champlain Street, formerly of Savannah,
Ga., died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was
born in Estille, S.C., on July 4,1910, the daughter of Allen and
Bessie Jones.
She
married Solbert Butler in Estille, S.C., in 1923. Mr. Butler died
in 1967.
Mrs.
Butler was a member of the First Baptist Church and the AARP
organization.
Survivors
include one son, Walter Oliver of Upper Marlboro, Md.; one
daughter, Rosa Johnson of Plattsburgh; eight grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
One
grandson, Steven Johnson, predeceased her.
Calling
hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
R. W. Walker Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held
Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. Burial will
follow in Riverside Cemetery.

— Betty Nancy Hovatter, 70, of Stearns Apartments in
Plattsburgh, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at her home.
She was
born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 11, 1930, the daughter of Charles and
Elizabeth (Demary) Lewis Sr.
Betty was
a member of St. John's Church in Plattsburgh.
Betty is
survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Charlotte
Lewis of Glens Falls; a sister, Marion Palmer of Plattsburgh; and
several nieces and nephews.
Betty was
predeceased by her husband, Henry Hovatter, in 1982; a brother,
Charles Lewis Jr.; and two sisters, Irene Latour and Ruth
Newcomer.
Calling
hours will be Monday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brown
Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Monday
afternoon at 4 p.m. from the Brown Funeral Home chapel in
Plattsburgh. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in

Norman G. Mero
Willsboro
— Norman G. Mero, 76, of the Middle Road, died at Vermont
Medical Center on Friday, Sept. 22, 2000.
He was
born in Willsboro on Oct. 24, 1923, the son of George and Angeline
(Mero) Mero.
Mr. Mero
was a member of St. Philip's Church, the Willsboro/Essex Knights
of Columbus 7461, the BPOE of Keeseville 2072 and a life member,
as well as past commander and adjutant/treasurer, of William Nolan
American Legion Post 405.
He is
survived by his wife Sheila (Daly); his children, Michael and
Debbie Mero of Carol Stream Ill., Patricia and Raymond Johnson of
Branchville, N.J., and William and Laurie Mero of Willsboro;
grandchildren Elysse and Kenneth Mero, Kelly Johnson and Dylan and
Claire Mero; a brother and his wife, Raymond and Elizabeth Mero of
Willsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling
hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25th,
at Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro, with the Knights of Columbus
meeting at 7:30 p.m. and the American Legion at 8 p.m. A funeral

burial following at Calvary Cemetery.

Carrie
Pearl Bevins, 74,
of Chilson Road in Ticonderoga, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at
the Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga.
She was
born in Ballston Spa on Nov. 12, 1925, the daughter of the late
Frederick Bernard and Sarah (McCrillis) Rhoades.

Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
He was
born in Tupper Lake on Oct. 10, 1923, the son of George P. and
Juliette (Auclair) Chartier.

p.m. at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A funeral Mass
will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church in
Tupper Lake, with Fr. Donald Kramberg officiating. Burial with
full military honors will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
