Lucien W. Belair Sr.
Dannemora
— Mr. Lucien W. Belair Sr., 89, of Emmons St. and formerly of
Beekman Towers, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at the home of his
daughter, Julia Girdich.
He was
born in Montreal, Quebec on Sept. 8, 1910, the son of William and
Vitaline (Duchesne) Belair.
Lucien
retired from Rosebud Creamery. He was a member of the Knights of
Columbus Council 255 of Plattsburgh. Lucien was an active
volunteer with the Council on the Arts of Clinton County, the
Chamber of Commerce, Channel 57, Centennial Newspaper, the Senior
Citizens Council and the Windy Towers Club. In 1993 he received
the Wilfred Butler Volunteer of the Year Award. He was a member of
St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh.
Lucien
was predeceased by his wife, Rose Belair, on May 20, 1991.
He is
survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Paul and
Henrietta Belair of Keeseville, Lucien W. and Geraldine Belair Jr.
of West Plattsburgh, Donald J. Belair of West Bangor and Peter G.
and Theresa Belair of Morrisonville; a daughter and son-in-law,
Julia and Roy Girdich of Dannemora; eight grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Calling
hours will be Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brown
Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated Monday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church. Interment
will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dannemora.

Lewis —
Kristi M. Mitchell, 2, of Denton Road, died on Thursday, Aug. 24,
2000, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital.
She was
born on Jan. 21, 1998, to Gerald and Christie (Nephew) Mitchell.
Besides
her parents, she is survived by four brothers and two
sisters-in-law, Jerry and Candy Mitchell Jr., Jamie and Chrissy
Mitchell, Dustin Mitchell and Cody Mitchell, all of Lewis; her
grandparents, Robert and Eleanor Reeves of Plattsburgh and Edward
and Joyce Nephew of Lady Lake, Fla.; a great-grandmother, Helen
Nephew of West Chazy; several aunts, uncles and cousins; two
nieces and a nephew; and her godparents, Gary Hathaway Jr. and
Rebecca Sandburg.
She was
predeceased by two grandparents, Roland and Hazel Mitchell.
She was
loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services
will be held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at 3 p.m. at W.M. Marvin’s
Sons in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow at the Lewis Cemetery.

Dorothy
E. Nahirniak, 64,
of Rt. 122 in Constable, died early Friday morning, Aug. 25, 2000,
at CVPH in Plattsburgh. She had been a patient there since Aug.
23, 2000.
Born in
Philadelphia, Pa., April 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the
late Frank and Eva Engleman Orsaugh.
Calling

Styles Webler,
82, died at CVPH Skilled Nursing Home on Thursday Aug. 24, 2000.
She was
born in Willsboro on Feb. 23, 1918, the daughter of James Edward
and Exilda (Nolette) Marsha.

— Mary V. Becker, 72, formerly of Mobile, Ala., died Wednesday,
Aug. 23, 2000, at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home.
She was
born in Bay Minette, Ala., on Jan. 7, 1928, the daughter of Edmund
and Bessie Sue (Mixon) Becker Sr.
Ms.
Becker was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh.
She was a riveter, building PT boats at Avondale Ship Yards in New
Orleans, La., during World War II. Following World War II, she
devoted herself to being a mother and homemaker. Ms. Becker did
housekeeping for families in her area.
Survivors
include three daughters, Mrs. James (Linda) Holmes of Mobile,
Ala., Mary Ann Jarrell of Picayune, Miss., and Joanne Chapman and
her partner Ruth Burke of Winooski, Vt.; one sister, Mrs. Theodore
(Sue) Wesolowski of Schertz, Texas; five grandchildren, two
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of
Christian burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of
Victory Church. Burial will be in the Greater New Palestine
Baptist Church Cemetery in Picayune, Miss.

Peru —
Elnora E. Blaise, 76, of Reid Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 23,
2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was
born in Burlington, Vt., Aug. 17, 1924, the daughter of Frank and
Goldie (Elwell) Lahue.
She
married Oliver N. Blaise Sr. on Feb. 11, 1943, in Keeseville.
Elnora
retired from the Imperial Mill in Plattsburgh in 1979, following
many years of service.
She was a
member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Women’s Guild and
the Keeseville Senior Citizens Club.
She
enjoyed playing penny bingo, camping, walking and especially
cooking.
Survivors
include her husband, Oliver N. Blaise Sr. of Peru; one son and
daughter-in-law, Oliver Jr. and Susan (Laundree) Blaise of
Kirkwood; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Thomas Martisus of
Peru; one sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and James Avalone of
Keeseville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Cheri
Lahue of Seattle, Wash., and Harry and Clara Lahue of Keeseville;
three grandsons, Oliver N. Blaise III, Travis E. Blaise and Derek
Martisus; and many nieces and nephews.

held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s

James J. Cooke
Ticonderoga
— James J. Cooke, 75, of Callahan Drive, passed away Thursday,
Aug. 24, 2000, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born in
Rensselaer, Sept. 24, 1924, he was the son of the late James and
Mary (Koveleskie) Cooke.
Mr. Cooke
was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II.
After his discharge from the Navy, he moved to Ticonderoga with
his first wife, the former Leona Aunchman. He was employed by the
International Paper Company of Ticonderoga for many years, until
his retirement in 1986.
Mr. Cooke
was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 224 of Ticonderoga and
International Paper Company’s Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed
the outdoors, especially yard work, hunting and the beauty of the
Adirondack Mountains.
He was
predeceased by a son, James L. Cooke in September of 1989.
Survivors
include one daughter, Kathy Ann Curtis and her husband, Reginald
of Ticonderoga; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a
cousin, William Koveleskie of Valatie. He is also survived by his
second wife, Elizabeth M. Cooke of Ticonderoga; and her son, David
C. Williams of Perkasie, Pa; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives
and friends may call Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 33 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A
Catholic wake service will take place at 8 p.m. at the funeral
home.
A funeral
Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G. Muench,
pastor, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow at the
family plot of the Ironville Cemetery of Crown Point.
Joseph Benoit Dulac
Lewis —
Joseph B. Dulac, 69, of Pulsifer Road in Lewis, died at his home
after a long illness, on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000.
He was
born in St. Benoit, PQ, Feb. 14, 1931, the son of Philip and
MaryJane (LaChanse) Dulac.
Mr. Dulac
is survived by his wife, Patricia (Pulsifer) Dulac; two daughters
and their families, Mary Dulac-Peltier and Chuck Peltier and their
children, Zacharia and Allicia and Lori and Brian Howard and their
children, Sarah A., Joseph E., Brianne M. and Schuyler A. Howard;
two daughters, Wendy and Sandy; and one son, Bill; eight
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren of Toronto, Canada.
Following
cremation, funeral services will be held privately for the family.

Raymond E. McCasland
Saranac
Lake — Raymond E. McCasland, age 94, of Bloomingdale Road in
Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at the Adirondack
Medical Center.
Born in
Clintonville on Dec. 19, 1905, he was the son of Walter and Evelyn
(Santo) McCasland.
He
married Agnes Dorothy Gero on Aug. 10, 1933, at St. Bernard’s
Church in Saranac Lake. She predeceased him on Aug. 4, 1999.
He was
employed for several years at Branch and Callahan in Saranac Lake.
In the early 1940’s, he went to work at Fred Gero’s Upholstery
in Saranac Lake. From the late 1940’s to the late 1960’s, he
owned and operated McCasland’s Upholstery .
He was
past president of the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club, where he
was a member of the rifle team and had won several awards. For
many years Mr. McCasland helped the Mothers Club in Saranac Lake
build their float for the Winter Carnival Parade.
He was an
avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. McCalsand taught the hunter safety
course at the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club for several years.
He also taught upholstery class in Saranac Lake.
He is
survived by two sons, Ronald E. McCasland of Saranac Lake and
James R. McCasland of Sandy, Utah; two daughters, Carolyn T.
LaDuke of Saranac Lake and Elaine M. Cahen of Greenwich; 15
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was
preceded in death by three brothers, Cleophas McCasland, Harold
McCasland and Kenneth McCasland; and one sister, Dorothy
McLaughlin.
Calling
hours will be at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, Aug.
25, 2000, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Bible vigil service will
be held Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of

— Pearl A. Willette, 91, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at the
CVPH Medical Center.
She was
born in Mooers on April 6, 1909, the daughter of Zethia and
Parmelia (Boulerice) Lucia.
She was a
foster mother for many years and cared for over 40 children. She
was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Mooers.
She is
survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Theodore and Barbara
Willette Jr. of Mooers; several foster children including two
foster daughters, Shirley Fessette of Plattsburgh and Janet
Gauthier of Peru; a foster son, Donald Liberty of Plattsburgh; a
granddaughter, Pam Tetreault of Mooers; a great-grandson, Kyle
Tetreault; and several nieces and nephews.
She is
predeceased by her husband, Theodore R. Willette, who died in
1980; four sisters, Ruth Duprey, Mary Monette, Delia Morgan and
Letta Lucia; and three brothers, Wilmer, Edward and Leo Lucia.

Funeral Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be

Keeseville
— David C. Porter, 60, of the Thompson Road in Keeseville, died
Aug. 20, 2000, at his home.
He was
born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 2, 1940, the son of Harold and Elsie
(McDougal) Porter.
David
served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a
precision tool and die master having worked for several years at
Hydro Molding Inc. in Plattsburgh and was presently employed with
Northern Precision Molding Inc. in Plattsburgh.
He was an
avid hunter and fisherman and was a past member of the esteemed
Bear Paw Country Club.
Survivors
include three daughters, Hillary Porter of Glens Falls, Tammy
Wilken of Long Island and Sheila King, also of Long Island; five
grandchildren, Clifton, Marquelle, Nicholas, Amanda and Monique;
his mother, Elsie Porter of Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh;
two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Bill Ptaszynski of
Keeseville and Nancy and Robert Armstrong of Peru; and several
nieces and nephews.

Fred J. Butler
Mesa,
Ariz. — Mr. Fred J. Butler passed away on Aug. 15, 2000, in
Mesa, Ariz.
He was
employed by the Department of Corrections in Dannemora for 40
years. He also operated a radio repair shop and held elected
office.
Fred was
preceded in death by Vivian Davies Butler, his beloved wife and
partner of 62 years. He is survived by his son, John.
Services
will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in All Saints Catholic
Church, 1534 N. Recker, Mesa, Ariz., with interment to follow at
Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 7900 E. Main, Mesa, Ariz.

M. Sayah

— Mrs. Helen "Ella" M. Sayah, 97, of the Clinton
County Nursing Home and formerly of Altona, died Monday, Aug. 21,
2000, at the nursing home.
She was
born in Willsboro on July 23, 1903, the daughter of John and Mary
Ann (Carver) Murphy.
She
married Irving Sayah, Nov. 26, 1931, at St. Joseph’s Church in
West Chazy. Her family, church and love of the outdoors were most
important to her.
She was a
member of Holy Angels Church in Altona. She was also a member of
Rockside Senior Citizens.
Ella is
survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law, Irving and
Geraldine Sayah of Lyon Mountain, Gerald and Jane Sayah of Altona
and Donald Sayah and Shirley Mock of Altona; three daughters and
two sons-in-law, Doris and Bill Fagan of Plattsburgh, Sr.
Elizabeth Sayah of Plattsburgh and Evelyn and Ronald Ryan of
Ellenburg Depot. She is survived by ten grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several
nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her husband, Irving Sayah. Four sisters, Anna
Parker, Mae Duquette, Elizabeth Shambo and Gertrude Provost also
died earlier.

Rudolph P. Ashline
Chazy —
Rudolph P. Ashline, 71, of Chazy, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at
the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was
born in Champlain on Aug. 4, 1929, the son of Floyd and Irene
(Barrier) Ashline.
Rudolph
was a dairy farmer and, in his retirement, he was employed as a
greenskeeper at North Country Golf Course in Rouses Point. He was
also a member of St. Mary’s Church in Champlain.
Rudolph
is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Gloria P.
Duquette; three brothers, Lionel and Betty Ashline of Keeseville,
Jerry and Isabel Ashline of Mooers Forks and Richard and Marie
Ashline of Chazy; and several nieces and nephews.

Neal E. Rossner

— Neal E. Rossner, 70, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at Adirondack
Tri-County Health Care Center in North Creek, after a long
illness.
Born Nov.
8, 1929, in Albany, he was the son of the late James and Florence
(Hover) Rossner.
Mr.
Rossner was a self-employed mechanic and he and his wife owned R-3
Way Truck Service Inc. in Pottersville. He was Tec Sergeant during
the Korean War.
He
enjoyed fishing and being around friends. He will be remembered as
a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors
include his wife of 40 years, Rosemary Tibbetts Rossner, whom he
married July 23, 1950; one son, Cal Neal Rossner and his wife
Nancy of Wyoming; three daughters, Deborah Pulsifer and her
husband James of Lewis, Edythe Monroe and her husband John of
North River and Darlene Stowell and her husband Michael of Schroon
Lake; one sister, June DeMarco of Prospect Heights; and five
grandchildren.
Memorial
services will be 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at
Barton-McDermott Funeral Home at 9 Pine Street in Chestertown.
Interment will be private.

Marion G. Seymour
Malone
— Marion G. Seymour, 88, of 25 Third Street in Malone, died
Tuesday morning, Aug. 22, 2000, at her home, while under the
loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country.
Born in
Churubusco on Feb. 3, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Mark
Cornelius and Gertrude Sweeney O’Meara,
She
graduated from Chateaugay Central School in 1931 and from
Plattsburgh State University in 1938. She received her masters
degree from Plattsburgh State University in 1969.
On Dec.
25, 1941, she was united in marriage to Edmund Austin Seymour at
St. Joseph’s Church in Croton Falls, by the late Rev. Henry
Breen. Her husband predeceased her on March 16, 1974.
She was a
member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association. She was
a past member of the Malone Lodge of Elks 1303 Ladies Auxiliary
and the Malone Catholic Daughters.
Mrs.
Seymour taught school in Ellenburg, Mooers Forks, Somers School in
Lincolndale, Malone Central Schools and BOCES in Malone. She
retired in 1974.
Survivors
include one daughter, Kathleen Babson of Hudson Falls; seven sons
and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Sharon Seymour of Saranac Lake,
Raymond and Linda Seymour of Clifton Park, Robert and Sarah
Seymour of Rouses Point, Donald and M. Gayle Seymour of Malone,
Paul and Linda Seymour of Champlain, Neil and Mary Kathryn Seymour
of Malone and David and Sally Seymour of Colton; one sister and
brother-in-law, Rose and Thaddeus Kowalski of Colonie; 29
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.

her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a son-in-law,
Dallas Joseph Babson; two brothers, Arthur and Robert O’Meara;
and one sister, Loretta Monette.

Adult Home.
She was

— Hilda F. Goddeau, 78, of Truman Avenue, and formerly of
Cadyville, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at CVPH Medical Center.
She was
born in Cadyville on June 13, 1922, the daughter of Arthur G. and
Florence E. (Darrah) Favero Sr.
She
married Robert L. Goddeau on Oct. 25, 1951. He predeceased her.
Mrs.
Goddeau retired from the Marriott Corporation of Plattsburgh State
University.
She was a
40-year member of Girl Scouts of the North Country. She was past
president of the Fountain Brothers Post 1619, American Legion
Auxiliary, a past president of the Clinton County American Legion

past member of Senior Citizens Council (North End), past president
of Windy Towers Club, a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 125 and
the Cadyville Civic Association.
Survivors
include one son, Lloyd T. Favaro of Cadyville; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Sandra and Lionel Drollette of Morrisonville and
Candace and William Noel of Saranac; two sisters and one
brother-in-law, Edith O'Connell of Cadyville and June and Carlton
Sears of Cadyville; three grandchildren, Scott and Sabrina Noel of
Saranac and Dr. Christina (Drollette) LaBella and her husband Dr.
John LaBella of Wexford, Pa.; two great-grandchildren, Dominic and
Maria LaBella of Wexford, Pa; one aunt, Alice Favaro of
Plattsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by one brother, Arthur D. Favaro Jr. in 1976 and three
sisters, Katherine James in 1987, Gladys Goddeau in 1990 and
Rachel Darrah in 1992.
Calling
hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.
W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. The VFW Auxiliary Post 125
and the Fountain Brothers Auxiliary Post 1619 will meet at the
funeral home at 7:30 p.m. for services. A funeral service will be
held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Methodist Church in Cadyville.
Burial will follow in the Cadyville Protestant Cemetery.

Arthur D. Leduc
Cadyville
— Arthur D. Leduc, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at the CVPH
Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was
born in Huntington, Quebec, on March 3, 1921, the son of Damase
and Elizabeth (Gauthier) Leduc.
He was
employed at Rosebud Creamery in Plattsburgh for many years and was
a member of St. James Church in Cadyville.
He is
survived by his wife, the former Loretta Taillefer; three sons and
daughters-in-law, Raymond and Barbara Leduc of Saranac, Gilles and
Claudette Leduc of Cadyville and Paul and Melisia Leduc of West
Chazy; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Michael
Castonguay of Massena, Sylvia and Gary Duquette of Cadyville and
Annette and Kelly LaBombard of Beekmantown; a brother, Ernest
Leduc of Huntington, Quebec; 14 grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Two
daughters, Suzanne Leduc and Monica Collins, died before him.
Visiting
hours will be held on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at
the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of
Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday from St.
James Church in Cadyville. Burial will follow in the parish
cemetery.

M. Willette
Champlain
— Beverly M. Willette, 64, of Perrys Mills Road in Champlain,
died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was
born in Mooers on May 17, 1936, the daughter of Jesse and Alice
(LaBier) Boulerice.
Mrs.
Willette was a graduate of the Mooers Central School Class of
1954. She enjoyed gardening, loved shopping and also enjoyed her
grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Beverly
is survived by her husband of 45 years, Roderick (Bud) Willette.
They were married in Champlain on Jan. 6, 1955.
She is
also survived by four sons and their wives, Robert and his wife
Nanette of Manhattan, Kan., Jeffrey and his wife Becky of Gulf
Port, Miss., Michael and his wife Marilyn of Mooers and Brian and
his wife Heather of Starkville, Miss.; two daughters and their
husbands, Louise Spring and her husband Mark of Champlain and
Brenda Munnick and her husband Michael of Rouses Point; two
brothers, Donald Boulerice of Poughkeepsie and Bernard Boulerice
and his wife Eleanor of Sayre, Pa.; five sisters, Elizabeth
Ashline and her husband Frank of Mooers, Catherine Tatro of
Pensacola, Fla., Dianne Juneau and her husband Richard of
Plattsburgh, June Juneau and her husband Roland of Champlain and
Linda Kelley and her husband Carlton of Morrisonville; 12
grandchildren, Robert Jason Willette, Eric Willette, Christopher
Willette, Justin Spring, Tonya Willette, Nicholas Munnik, Joshua
Willette, Chelsey Munnik, Andrey Spring, Tyler Willette, Michael
Willette and Haley Willette; one great-grandchild, Chelsea
Willette; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two
sisters and one brother died earlier.

to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass
will be offered Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church

Beatrice (Phaneuf) Connelly
Rouses
Point — Veronica Beatrice (Phaneuf) Connelly, 52, of Church
Street, Rouses Point, passed away Aug, 20, 2000, after a
courageous battle with lung cancer.
Mrs.
Connelly was born in Champlain on Feb. 24, 1948, the daughter of
Kenneth and Beatrice (Gamache) Phaneuf.
She was
employed by Wyeth-Ayerst Labs, Inc. for 33 years prior to her
illness.
She is
survived by her husband of 34 years, Francis (Jerry) Connelly and
a son, Shawn Patrick. She is also survived by her father, Kenneth
and her brother Clifton and his wife Tina. Other survivers include
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Andy and Shirley Juneau,
Walter and Therese Connelly, Arnold and Marlene Beal, Norman and
Kathleen Bechard, William Connelly, Michael and LouAnn Connelly,
Linda Connelly, Daniel and Gail Carey and former sisters-in-law,
Joan Connelly and Donna Mae Connelly; and several aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces and nephews.
Vicki, as
her friends knew her, was predeceased by her mother, Beatrice
Phaneuf; a brother, Roy Phaneuf; a sister-in-law, Mary Juneau; a
brother-in-law, Greg Connelly; and a niece, Wendy Phaneuf.
Due to
her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian
burial will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 23rd, at 11 a.m. in St.
Mary's Church in Champlain. Interment will follow in St. Mary's
Cemetery. A reception immediately following the interment will be
in Rouses Point at the K of C Hall.

— Patricia C. Burdo, 67, of Morrisonville, passed away Monday,
Aug. 21, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was
born in Plattsburgh on April 25, 1933, the daughter of the late
Charles J. and Lena (Pellerin) Chamberlain.
Patricia
was a member of St. James Minor Church in Cadyville. Her past
employers were Saranac Central School and Surgical Associates of
Plattsburgh. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Patricia
is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert C. Burdo of
Morrisonville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Glenn and Jamie
Burdo of West Chazy, Charles Burdo of Littleton, Colo., and Neil
Burdo of Morrisonville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda
and Brad Smith of Keeseville, Mary and Randy Pray of Keeseville
and Darlene and Robert Egan of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Marion
Lucas of Syracuse and Agnes Drury of Gillette, Wyo.; 14
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her brother, Charles "Sonny" Chamberlain
of Wingdale.
Private

Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at
10 a.m. from St. James Minor Church in Cadyville. Burial will
follow in St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville. A reception

Merle H. Blair
WALLINGFORD, Conn. — Merle H. Blair, age 63,
husband of Sally (Reed) Blair, died Friday morning, August 18,
2000 at the John Dempsey Health Center in Farmington, CT.
He was born October 10, 1936, in Peru, N.Y.,
the son of Myrtle (Hoyt) Blair and the late Arthur Blair.
He graduated from Saranac Central School in
Saranac, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was employed at Pratt
& Whitney in North Haven, Conn., for 34 years as a machine
specialist, retiring in December of 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Blair of
Wallingford, Conn.; his mother, Myrtle Blair of Saranac; two sons,
Scott & Brian Blair; one daughter and her husband, Lynn &
John Horobin, all of Wallingford; five brothers, Robert Blair and
his wife, Patricia; Larry Blair, Richard Blair and his wife Leata,
all of Morrisonville; Chester Blair and his wife Alberta, of
Georgia, Vt.; and Fred Blair and his wife Monica of Saranac; 3
sisters and their husbands, Shirley & Gerry Marshal of
Morrisonville; Elsie & Leslie Lester of Saranac, N.Y.; and
Byrle & Donald Gonyea of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; a sister in law,
Jean Blair of Morrisonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond,
Leon and Gerald Blair.
Visiting hours will be held one hour prior to
the funeral, scheduled for this morning at 11 a.m. at the Spears
Funeral Home on Dickinson Ave. in Enosburg Falls, Vt. Interment
