Carol K. Farnsworth

Westport — Carol K. Farnsworth, 60, of Westport and North Salem, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.

She was born in California on Sept. 21, 1939.

Carol was employed as the school nurse at the North Salem High School in North Salem.

She enjoyed spending summers in Westport, gardening, painting, theater and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her mother, Rose Schulbaum of North Salem; her husband, Peter B. Farnsworth of Westport and North Salem; two daughters and one son-in-law, Elizabeth and Edwin Bonelli of Mahopac and Emily Farnsworth of California; one grandson, Samuel Bonelli; one stepson, David Farnsworth of Arlington, Mass.; and one stepdaughter, Lisa Farnsworth of Chevy Chase, Md.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Kathryn Farnsworth.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Westport.

Donations in her memory may be made to the North Country SPCA.

Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Westport.

Stella M. Perry

Redford — Stella M. Perry, 87, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Saranac on July 8, 1913, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Macey) Parrott.

She was a member of the Church of the Assumption in Redford.

She is survived by four sons and five daughters-in-law, Edward and Lorraine Perry of Morrisonville, Francis and Barbara Perry of Redford, Roger and Joanne Perry of Altona, Charles and Judy Perry of Redford and Pat Perry of Saranac; two daughters and three sons-in-law, Margaret and John Hurd of Schenectady, Leona and John Conroy of Morrisonville and Warren Smith of Redford; a brother-in-law, Norman Garrow of Plattsburgh; 26 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Clifford; one son, Richard; one daughter, Agnes Smith; and all of her brothers and sisters died before her.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday from the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Rescue Squad in her memory.

Merita A. Foote, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at the Arc Home on Fairy Blvd. in Crown Point.

She was born on Nov. 15, 1921, at Traverse City, Mich., the daughter of Edward and Cora (Conaway) Foote.

Calling hours will be held Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Crown Point, with the Rev. Alice Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Moriah.

Louise H. Trombley, 92, of 50 Mill Street in Malone, died Thursday evening, Aug. 3, 2000, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. She had been a patient there since July 10.

Born in Chateaugay on Oct. 1, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Rose Buskey Dumas.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery in Burke.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service in Malone.

Eleanor A. Audino

Westport — Eleanor A. Audino, 71, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at her home.

She was born in Buffalo on Jan. 6, 1929, to Justin and Concetta (Orlando) Badame.

She is survived by her husband, Emanuel Audino of Westport; one daughter, Jacqueline Audino of Westport; one grandson, Geoffrey Hoskins of Westport; and two sisters, Sarah Boncore and Rita Giardina, both of Buffalo.

Calling hours will be held Aug. 4 and Aug. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the W.M. Marvin’s Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Neri in Westport. Burial will be at the St. Philip Neri Cemetery following the service.

Dr. Nello V. Delbel

Largo, Fla. — Dr. Nello V. Delbel, 82, died July 31, 2000, at his home in Largo, Fla.

Dr. Delbel was born on Aug. 10, 1917, in Workington, Ontario, the son of George Delbel and Maria Ossello.

The family moved to Plattsburgh when he was six years old. He graduated from Plattsburgh High School, St. Lawrence University and in 1941 the McGill University Medical School. He married E. Mary Eagleson of Ottawa, Ontario, on Jan. 1, 1941. She survives him.

Dr. Delbel served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II. Following the war, he returned to the North County practicing medicine in Peru and Keeseville. He also practiced in Plattsburgh from 1950 until his retirement in 1981. He once estimated that during the course of his practice he delivered close to 10,000 babies.

Besides his wife, Dr. Delbel is survived by his four children, Dr. Linda J. Ivanits of Howard, Pa., Fr. James A. Delbel, pastor of St. Philip of Jesus Church in Willsboro and St. Joseph Church in Essex, Mrs. Moreen A. Austen of Largo, Fla. and Dr. Jeffrey P. Delbel of Auburn. He is survived also by his sister, Linda C. Delbel of Plattsburgh; his brother, Dr. Elsio Delbel of Bethel Park, Pa.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Aug. 1 at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Largo, Fla., with Fr. Sean O’Sullivan presiding. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church in Plattsburgh at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, followed by burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Following the service there will be a reception at 13 Draper Ave. in Plattsburgh. There will be no wake.

The family requests that no flowers be sent. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Florida Sun Coast, 300 E. Bay Dr., Largo, Fl. 33774.

Avis (Cobb) Goodsell

Colchester, Vt. — Avis (Cobb) Goodsell, 81, died unexpectedly at Fletcher Allen Health Care on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000.

She was born in Jeffersonville, Vt., on June 22, 1919, the daughter of the late Eugene and Effie (Woodside) Cobb.

She grew up in Rutland and graduated from Rutland High School in 1936 and UVM in 1940, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She received her masters degree at Plattsburgh State Teachers College. Avis taught math at the high school and junior college level for many years.

She married Elisha R. Goodsell in Proctor, Vt., in 1943. He predeceased his wife in 1993.

Avis spent her winters in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., where she was a member of the Coronado Methodist Church. Her hobbies included gardening, cribbage and bridge.

She is survived by her son, Brent Goodsell of Syracuse; her three daughters, Brenda Roy of Yarmouth, Maine, Barbara Maas of Norfolk, Va. and Sandra Collins of Rutland, Vt.; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Wanda Edwards of Largo, Fla. and Frances Krattebol of Cape Coral, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Prim Road in Colchester, Vt.

Clayton C. LaBounty

Plattsburgh & Ashland, Maine — Clayton C. LaBounty, 77, died Aug. 2, 2000, at a Presque Isle nursing home.

He was born in Keeseville on May 23, 1923, the son of Alfred and Ethel (Monty) LaBounty.

He had worked as a police officer in Ashland, Maine, for a number of years and had retired from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department. He had also operated a service station in Plattsburgh for several years.

Clayton had relocated to Ashland, Maine, a few years ago. He was a member of the VFW LeBlanc-Junkins Post 9699 and the AM Vets of Ashland.

He is survived by a son, Michael R. LaBounty and his wife, Christina, of Peru; a daughter, Angel LaBounty of Plattsburgh; three sisters, Francis Brielya of Vt., Victoria Dyer and Joyce Bushy, both of Plattsburgh; one brother, Pascal LaBounty of Plattsburgh; one grandson, Byron T. LaBounty of Plattsburgh; one great-grandson, Parker M. LaBounty; and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by one son, Gene A. LaBounty; one daughter, Sharon (LaBounty) Blahut; and two sisters, Gladys Brackett and Isabella Robare.

Relatives and friends may call the Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home at 114 Exchange Street in Ashland, Maine, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at the St. Mark Catholic Church in Ashland, Maine, with the Rev. Scott Mower, pastor, celebrant. Committal service and interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Cameron Brian Miller, infant son of Brian and Nicole Patterson Miller of the Flat Rock Road in Malone, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, shortly after birth at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of the Angels will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in Malone, with Msgr. C. John McAvoy officiating. Burial will be in the Stevens Cemetery in Brandon.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service in Malone.

Damon L. Speer

Plattsburgh — Damon L. Speer, 16, of Seth Square, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Fletcher Allen Hospital as a result of a car accident.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Oct. 30, 1983.

Damon was a student at Saranac Central High School.

He is survived by his mother, Debra Kellas of Plattsburgh; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Tiffanny Durgan of Plattsburgh; one niece and nephew, Deborah and Dustin Durgan of Plattsburgh; his maternal grandparents, David and Helen Kellas of Peru; his Uncle Gary and Aunt Helen Champagne of Saranac and his Uncle David and Aunt Susanne Kellas of Centerville, Texas; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Vicenta Hartwell of Honduras; his Uncle Jorge Speer of New Jersey, his Uncle Jose and Aunt Lizzie Speer of New York City and his Aunt Jane E. Hartwell of New York City.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Peru Community Church. Burial will follow in God’s Acre Cemetery in Peru.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Damon’s memory to the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) Foundation.

Damon will forever be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Damon left this world helping others by being an organ donor.

Vernon Davidson

Plattsburgh — Vernon Davidson, 80, formerly of Loon Lake, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home.

He was born in Manchester, Ky., on Feb. 24, 1920, the son of Virgil and Myrtle (Barger) Davidson.

Vernon was a 1939 graduate of Wheelwright High School in Kentucky. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1940 and retired in 1960. Vernon saw active duty on Tarawa and Okinawa during World War II. During Korea, he was involved with the Inshun landing and Cheian Reservoir. He was a recruiter for the U.S. Marine Corps in Plattsburgh from 1951 to 1954 and 1956 to 1960.

Vernon was also employed by Northern Insuring in Plattsburgh for 20 years, retiring in 1982. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 in Plattsburgh and a member of the Chosin Few.

Vernon is survived by his wife, the former Florence Margaret "Dutchie" (Putnam) Davidson of Loon Lake; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Julie Davidson of Plattsburgh; two sisters and a brother-in-law; Louise and Deward Dennis of West Liberty, Ky. and Verna B. King of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Teddy Davidson of Saganaw, Mich. and R.V. and Rita Davidson of Pineville, Ohio; one grandson and his wife, Corey and Michelle Davidson of Bushnell, Fla.; one great-grandson, Daniel; and several nieces and nephews. Vernon is also survived by a stepson, David Favaro; granddaughters, Katie Lee and Kelly Rose Favaro; and a stepdaughter-in-law, Pat Lee.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Alice (St. Martin) Davidson; and three sisters, Betty Ruth Cordray, Audrey Roy and Barbara Hoover, all of Cincinnati, Ohio.

A graveside committal service will be held Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh, where full military honors will be provided.

Friends wishing may make donations to the Shriners.

Phyllis Carlson Brennan

Brevard, N.C. — Phyllis Carlson Brennan, 74, of Brevard, N.C., died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, in Asheville, N.C.

She was born in Mineville, the daughter of C. Arthur and Violet (Dumar) Carlson.

She was a 1943 graduate of Mineville High School and a graduate of Mildred Elley Secretarial School.

During her working career, she was employed by Niagara Mohawk in Albany, the financial aid office at SUNY - New Paltz and by a private law firm in New Paltz.

She and her husband, Michael J. Brennan, retired to Brevard, N.C. Phyllis was a member of the Sacred Heart Church Women’s Guild and an active volunteer at Brevard Music Center.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Eileen Brennan of Brevard, N.C.; three sons and their spouses, Patrick and Sandy Brennan of Woodstock, Timothy and Kathi Brennan of Greenville and Dr. Kevin and Jeanette Brennan of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and her grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Erin and Courtney Brennan. She is also survived by one sister, Edith Mayhood of Mineville.

She was predeceased by her brothers, C. Arthur "Bud", Gerald and Lawrence Carlson; and her sisters, Nancy McAuliffe and Joyce Nafzgar.

A funeral Mass and committal services will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brevard, N.C., on Friday, August 4, 2000.

Regina Sigute Moore

Queensbury — Regina Sigute Moore, 63, of 23 Rainbow Trail in Queensbury, a school teacher for 38 years, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, after a courageous 11-month battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.

She was born Regina S. Matulionis on Sept. 7, 1936, in Lithuania to Ona and the late Anthony Matulionis of Plattsburgh.

She was a graduate of Plattsburgh State College, class of 1958. After graduation she used her studies to fulfill a 38-year career in teaching in the Glens Falls City School District, 15 years as director of Project KINDLE, a gifted and talented program. She retired in 1997.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Robert J. Moore of Queensbury; her mother, Ona Matulionis of Plattsburgh; devoted daughters, Lisa Moore-Sajedi and her husband Mohammad of Plattsburgh and Rebecca Moore of Glens Falls; a loving granddaughter, Francesca Sajedi of Plattsburgh; and a sister, Eleonora Burton and her husband Joseph of Castleton. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, July 31, in Baltimore, Md. and was celebrated by Father Salvatore Livigni, the chaplain at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Chapel of the Assumption Ridge Road in Queensbury on Friday, Aug. 4, at 10:30 a.m., with Father Paul Cox and Father Nellis Tremblay, officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Regina’s name to Pruyn Pavilion Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital, 102 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.

Yvonne Boire Chadek

Des Moines, Iowa — Yvonne Boire Chadek, 84, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

She was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 29, 1915, the daughter of Victor and Hariett (Banfield) Boire.

Yvonne was a graduate of St. John’s High School and Syracuse University and received her master degree from the University of Iowa. She lived in Mount Vernon, Iowa, from 1954 until 1988, when she moved to Des Moines. Yvonne was retired as the department chair for special education for the Marion Independent School System. She was designated as Master Teacher by the Yeshiva University in New York and was a member of the International Mycologist Association, the Iowa Archaeological Association and several rocks and gems clubs.

Yvonne was teacher of the decade for the 1970’s and was a member of the National Education Association. She had been an Older Iowan Legislature Representative for Linn County. Since the 1950’s she was a naturalist and regularly appeared on Iowa talk shows and colleges discussing how to live off wild plants and animals and was recognized as a mushroom expert.

At the age of 68 she traveled two thousand miles camping across Canada alone with her Keeshond dog, Jo Jo. She regularly presented slide shows to elder groups about her independent travels and adventures.

Yvonne was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Chadek, in 1999.

She is survived by three daughters, Jenifer Chadek and Suzanne McKinley, both of Des Moines, Iowa and Christine Deigman of Davenport, Iowa; two sons, Christopher Chadek of Bettendorf, Iowa and James Chadek of Jackson City, Mich.; a sister, Rita Banks of Plattsburgh; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Saturday, August 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home with a service to follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel T. Keefe, pastor of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church Cumberland Head, presiding. Interment will follow in the Boire Lot at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Paxton Riley Trombley

Plattsburgh — Paxton Riley Trombley, 11 days old, of the Tom Miller Road, died unexpectedly Monday, July 31, 2000, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt.

He was born in Plattsburgh on July 20, 2000, the son of Bradley and Sandra (Harrington) Trombley.

Paxton is survived by his parents of Plattsburgh; a sister, Madison Anastasia Trombley and a brother, Kagan Ryan Trombley, at home; his maternal grandparents, Phillip and Elizabeth Harrington of Plattsburgh; his paternal grandparents, Bradley J. Trombley and Ginger Trombley, both of Plattsburgh; his paternal great-grandfather and his wife, Bob and Bernie Anastasiadis of Plattsburgh; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. with a funeral service to be held at 10 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. William G. Reamer, chaplain at the CVPH Medical Center, officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends wishing may make donations to the Pediatric Unit at CVPH Medical Center.

George "Tiny" E. Nesbitt

Plattsburgh — George "Tiny" E. Nesbitt, 60, of Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt.

Born in Saranac Lake on Sept. 17, 1939, he was the son of Thomas and Grace (Guenther) Nesbitt.

Mr. Nesbitt was a resident of Plattsburgh for the past 20 years. Prior to that he was a resident of Saranac Lake for over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jean (Drutz) Nesbitt of Plattsburgh, whom he married Oct. 8, 1966, at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake; one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Ellen Nesbitt of Norwood; one daughter, Jill E. Nesbitt and her son, Miguel, both of Plattsburgh; his mother-in-law, Beatrice Drutz of Saranac Lake; and many cousins.

He was predeceased by one sister, Grace Nesbitt Strauss.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

Anna Mae Ogilvie

Oakdale, Pa. — Anna Mae Ogilvie, 84, of Oakdale, Pa., formerly of Plattsburgh, died Monday, July 31, 2000, the beloved wife of the late Kenneth W. Ogilvie Sr., loving mother of Kenneth and Judy Ogilvie of Oakdale, Pa., and Tommy Erhart of Texas; grandmother of Tommy Kenneth Ogilvie, Kelly, Jennifer, Dave and Michell Erhart; great-grandmother of Heather and Casandra Erhart.

She was a lead singer for the Dorsey Brothers Band and the USO shows.

Visitation will be private. Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Aug. 8, 2000. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Charles A. "Chuck" Rathbun

Whitehall — Charles A. "Chuck" Rathbun, 81, of Maple Street, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Glen Falls Hospital, following a long illness.

He was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Fort Ann, the son of the late Almon and Edith (Sumner) Rathbun.

He graduated from Granville High School and from Albany Business College. He served in the U.S. Army as a technical sergeant.

He was the office manager of Scott Furniture Company for 34 years. He was Republican Commissioner of Elections for Washington County for ten years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitehall, serving as treasurer and also as a member of the church council for many years.

Charles was a 50-year member of the American Legion, Post 83. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 1491 for many years and was a charter member of the Skenesborough E.M.S.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Sumner Rathbun and a sister-in-law, Marjory Rathbun.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Luella (Carpenter) Rathbun of Whitehall; one sister, Edna Darrah and her husband Edward W. Darrah of Plattsburgh; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides these relatives, Chuck is survived by several very special neighbors.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Whitehall, with the Rev. John Chamberlin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the North Granville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Jillson Funeral Home, Inc., 46 Williams Street in Whitehall, on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000. A wake service will be conducted by the American Legion Post 83 on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. and the Skenesborough Rescue Squad will meet at the funeral home at 8 p.m.

Richard Garrand

Anchorage, Alaska — Richard Garrand, 67, of Anchorage, Alaska, died July 7, 2000.

Mr. Garrand was born Sept. 3, 1932, in Mooers. He was a 1950 graduate of Mineville High School and attended two years at Plattsburgh State. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, being discharged in 1954.

He worked for F.O. New York Electric and Gas until 1973, when he moved to Alaska. He worked for the Municipality of Anchorage from 1973 until retiring in 1985.

Mr. Garrand was a member of Holy Family Cathedral, the VFW and American Legion. His interests were stock car racing, sports, gourmet cooking, collecting model cars and Alaska art. His family said, "He was a man considered a legend by family and friends, a gentleman who commanded respect. Dick Garrand will live in the memory of all who knew him and admired his determination, fortitude and strength of spirit. He refused to allow his devastating physical injuries to lessen his zest for life. As he had in his younger days, Dick continued his intense appreciation of life’s pleasures, opening his home to family and friends, always sharing what he had with those he loved."

Mr. Garrand is survived by his son, Scott Garrand of Plattsburgh; two daughters and a son-in-law, Amy-Jo Garrand of Morrisonville and Shelley and Gary Bertrand of Morrisonville; a sister, Doris McNulty of Point Pleasant, N.J.; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert J. and Lorraine Garrand of Westwood, N.J.; three grandchildren; two nephews and two nieces; former wives Betty Garrand and Irma Garrand; and an uncle and aunt, Earl and Merle Garrand of New York.

Mr. Garrand was preceded in death by his son, Marc Garrand and nephew, Peter McNulty.

Visitation was held at Kehl’s Forest Lawn Chapel. A funeral was held on July 11, 2000, at Holy Family Cathedral with the Rev. Paul Scanlon officiating. Burial followed at Angelus Memorial Park.

Charles Marshall Petch

Hemmingford, Quebec — Charles Marshall Petch entered into rest peacefully, at home in Hemmingford, Quebec, on July 29, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Montreal on March 26, 1922. He received a BSc (Agr) from Macdonald College in 1948 and a MSa (Ed) from the State University of New York in 1964. He served as an educator at Altona Central and Northen Adirondack Central Schools for 34 years, retiring in 1982.

He was active in the Hemmingford community as an orchardist, member of St. Luke's Anglican parish, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Chateaugay Valley Historical Association.

He was the dear brother of Evelyn (Case) and Anne (Beckett) of Pointe Claire, Quebec, and Robert of Hemmingford. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Robinson Graham. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine Ann Chandler, of Mooers. Devoted father of Chandler (Rita) of Brockville, Ontario, Kip (Shelley) of Edmonton, Alberta, and William (Joy) of Belleville, Ontario. Sadly missed by six grandchildren, six nieces and nephews and ten grandnieces and nephews.

Tracy Lee Hampton

Mooers — Tracy Lee Hampton, age 36, of Mooers, died on Saturday, July 29, 2000, in the Fletcher Allen Health Center in Burlington, Vt., due to a car accident.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1963, the daughter of Harry Landry Sr. and Margaret Learnerd.

She is survived by three sons, Ryan Landry, Cody Lee and Caleb Allen Hampton and one daughter, Jennifer Marie, of Mooers; two brothers, Harry Landry Jr. and companion Dodi Monnette of Rouses Point and Melvis Morris of White Pigeon, Mich.; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Walter Phipps of Saugus, Mass.

Calling hours will be at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be said on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Ellis Edson Maxon

Palmyra, Va. — Ellis Edson Maxon, 80, formerly of Pownal, Vt., and Clarksville, Va., passed away in his sleep on Thursday, July 27, 2000, in Palmyra, Va., at the home of his daughter.

Mr. Maxon retired from the U.S. Air Force at Plattsburgh Air Force Base in 1964, following 24 years of service, with the rank of master sergeant. He and his wife owned and operated Easy’s Motorcycles in Plattsburgh from 1962 until his second retirement in 1976, when they moved to Clarksville to enjoy the fishing.

Mr. Maxon was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, May G. Wiles Maxon, formerly of Williamstown, Mass., and one grandson, Allen Oliff.

Mr. Maxon is survived by daughters Sylvia A. (Sami) Paradis, her husband Lane and their four children, Travis, Trevor, Rachel and Trison of Barboursville, Va., Charline M. Oliff, her husband Marvin and their four sons, Jimmy, Charles, John and William of Palmyra, Va.; one son, Edson T. Maxon and his wife Pamela of Richmond, Va., and their two sons, Jonathan Clarke of Greenville, S.C., and Chris Clarke, his wife Shannon and grandson Zachary, of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Sonya Walk and her husband Glenn and a brother, Gerald Maxon, all of Bennington, Vt.; and an aunt, Mable Belville of Ashville, N.C.

Mr. Maxon was a member of VFW Post 8163, Twin Rivers Masonic Lodge 338 and Chapter 145, Order Eastern Star, all of Clarksville, Va., American Legion Post 0152 of Williamstown, Mass., and the 7th Bomb Wing B-36 Association.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, presided by Rev. Eric Myers at the Clarksville Presbyterian Church in Clarksville, Va. Internment will be accompanied by military honors at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, presided by pastors Buddy Woodson and Frank Schumaker at the Virginia Veteran's Cemetary in Amelia, Va.

Kenneth J. Bisonette, 90, of Granville and formerly of Port Henry, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at the Indian River Nursing Home in Granville. He had been a resident there for several years.

He was born in Chateaugay on July 25, 1910, the son of the late Gerald and Mable (Ashline) Bisonette.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone.

Geraldine M. Donnellan, 68, of Sentinel Road in Lake Placid, died July 30, 2000, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

She was born in Lake Placid on March 19, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (LaFountain) Pelkey.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Cemetery in Lake Placid. Rev. Michael Gaffney, pastor of St. Agnes Church, will officiate.

Armand A. ‘Puss’ Favreau Jr.

MORRISONVILLE — Armand A. "Puss" Favreau Jr., 66, of Rabideau Street, died Saturday, July 29, 2000 at his home.

He was born in Beekmantown on May 11, 1934, the son of Armand and Ella (Goodman) Favreau Sr.

Armand attended the Morrisonville Community Church and was a former member of the Morrisonville Volunteer Fire Department.

He married the former Marilyn Downey on Jan. 7, 1955 at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville.

Armand worked as a truck driver for Plattsburgh Quarries for 23 years. He was a true outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Armand was also an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Favreau of Morrisonville; five sons, Lonny Favreau of Bellevue, WA, Dale Favreau of Dannemora, Ricky Favreau of Cadyville, Robert Favreau of Morrisonville and Roger Favreau of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Linda Trombley of AuSable Forks and Kimberly Provost of Plattsburgh; his mother, Ella Favreau of Morrisonville; two brothers, Lawrence Favreau of Vineland, N.J. and Joseph Favreau of Beekmantown; three sisters, Helen Roy of Seabring, Fla., Pauline Reyell of Morrisonville and Shirley Roberts of Garland, Texas; 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Morrisonville Community Church.

ELIZABETHTOWN — Alfred C. Trombly Jr., 75, of New Russia Road, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2000, at his home.

He was born on March 12, 1925, to Frederick and Mabel (Fleury) Trombly. Alfred worked for the NYSDOT for 31 years, retiring in 1987. He was devoted to St. Elizabeth’s Church as trustee and caretaker for many years. He loved music and played with the Lamplighters for over 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (Chappell) Trombly of Elizabethtown, N.Y.; two sons, Christopher Trombly of Westport, N.Y., and Norris Trombly of North Harrisburg, Vt.; one brother, Leo Trombly of Elizabethtown, N.Y.; one sister, Agnes Denton of Elizabethtown, N.Y.; three grandsons, Christopher Trombly Jr. and Jeffery Trombley, both of Wadhams, N.Y., and Oakes Trombley of Vermont.

Sylvia M. (Hatch) Semeraro

Willsboro — Sylvia Hatch Semeraro, 83, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Meadowbrook Healthcare after a long illness.

She was born in Willsboro, July 7, 1917, the daughter of Samuel and Susan (Mero) Marcotte.

She was a member of St. Philip’s of Jesus Church in Willsboro and worked for Antaya’s Florist for many years. She later moved to Rochester and worked for the Gleasons Works Co. in the blueprinting division office.

She is survived by two sons, Edward and his wife Nancy Hatch of Willsboro, and Livingston Hatch of Plattsburgh and Evelyn Hatch of Elizabethtown; ten grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren and one sister, Viola MacDougal of Lewis.

She was predeceased by two husbands, Payson Hatch in 1969 and Frank Semeraro.

The family will have calling hours at St Philip’s Church from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2000, with a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Randy "Rudy" Ward

JAY— Randy "Rudy" Ward, 41, of Jay died Friday, July 28, 2000, due to an Industrial Agriculture accident.

He was the son of the late Ralph and Florence "Meigs" Ward.

He was a life-time member of the Jay Volunteer Fire Department, serving 20 years. Randy was employed approximately 15 years as Deputy Highway Superintendent for the town of Jay.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working around his home.

Randy is survived by a brother, Robert Ward of Jay; four sisters, Deborah Hackett, Patricia Ward, Bonnie Bola and Cynthia Casler, all of Jay; a step sister, Helen McDonald of Jay. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation hours will be Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer- Sprague Funeral Home, Ausable Forks. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church, AuSable Forks. James C. Milne Sr.

BRAINARDSVILLE — James C. Milne Sr., 71, of Brainardsville, died July 28, 2000, at his home.

He was born May 2, 1929, in Plattsburgh, the son of Ralph and Mary (Mae-J Dutton) Milne.

On June 21, 1952, he married the former Mary Elizabeth Wood at Holy Angels Church, Altona.

Jim graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1946. He entered the United States Marine Corp. on October 6, 1950. He was honorably discharged May 17, 1952 with the rank of Sargeant. He was employed by NYSEG for over 28 years as chief lineman working out of the Chateaugay office. He retired in May 1982. In his early years, Jim was an avid speed skater competing in the Plattsburgh Games. He won many trophies and at the age of 65 was still experimenting with roller blading. Jim remained very active replacing the roof on his home, enjoyed fishing water-skiing and took pride in his yard work.

He was a member of St. Jude’s Church, Brainardsville, Disabled American Vets (VAS), National and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years; six daughters, Pamela Anne Crane of Saranac Lake, Monica and Tim O’Neill of Fishersville, Va, Anne Brown and Aaron Bessant of Southfield, Mich, Susan Milne and Kevin Rocque of Chazy Lake, Mary Kay Milne and Michael Harris of Lyon Mountain, Eva and William Durnin Jr. of Lyon n Mountain; four grandchildren, Jamie E. Milne-LaClair, Nicole Mary and Taylor Mae Durnin and Eugene Michael Harris; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Janet Jones of Bristol, Conn, Mildred Glazier of Glendale, Ariz, Madelyn and Charles "Bob" Parker of Saranac; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Ruth Milne of Tupper Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, a son James C. Milne Jr. in 1983, a sister, Marion Salimando in 1989 and a brother, Allen.

Visitation will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Sunday, July 30 from 7-9 p.m. and on Monday, July 31 om 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2000, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church with Rev. Fay Ager officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chateaugay.

George A. Mousseau

Loudonville — George A. Mousseau of Loudonville, beloved husband of Donna King Mousseau died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Albany Memorial Hospital.

Born and educated in Plattsburgh he was the son of the late Andrew and Edith Burnell Mousseau. He was a United States Army veteran serving from 1946-1949. George was employed by Pilot Freight Carriers as a trucker for many years and retired in 1988. George was a member of the Teamsters Local #294 for over 37 years. He was raised in Plattsburgh and moved to Loudonville in 1963. Since living in Loudonville he has been a communicant of St. Pius X Church. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #1466 in Plattsburgh and the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192. George loved to spend time with his family fishing at their camp in the Adirondacks.
