Ardelle C. Ubriaco
Jay —
Ardelle C. Ubriaco, 96, of Keene Valley Neighborhood House in
Keene Valley and formerly of Jay, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at
CVPH.
She was
born in Jay on Sept. 26, 1903, the daughter of John Smith, MD and
Corinth Bissell.
She was a
former officer in the Daughters of the American Revolution and a
pianist for many years at the Jay Baptist Church.
Ardelle
graduated from AuSable Forks High School in 1922. She accompanied
her brother, Donald, to the Malone School for the Deaf, where she
taught music.
On July
10, 1927, she married Joseph Ubriaco in Gouverneur. They lived in
New York City until 1946. Subsequently, they lived in Yonkers
until 1964, at which time Ardelle retired to her hometown of Jay.
Ardelle
was an accomplished pianist, with a lifetime love of music. She
was a lifelong dog lover and could often be seen walking with them
around the village of Jay. Up until two weeks before her death,
she walked two miles daily.
Ardelle
was an avid gardener, reader, writer and musician; a true
Renaissance woman.
She
maintained a 70-year weekly correspondence with her sister, Helen
Miller, until two weeks before she died.
Ardelle
will be remembered by her children and grandchildren as a woman of
tremendous love and courage. She will be deeply missed by all who
knew her.
She is
survived by her daughter, Antoinette Jean and John Cordes of
AuSable Forks; her sons, Robert D. and Shirley Ubriaco of Monee,
Ill. and J. Peter and Mary Jo Ubriaco of Ossining; her sister,
Helen Miller of Plattsburgh; a sister-in-law, Adeline Smith of
Ticonderoga; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several
neices and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her husband, Joseph Ubriaco; and her brothers,
Donald and Philip Smith.
There
will be no calling hours. Ardelle donated her body to the
University of Vermont Medical School for medical research. A
memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Jay
on Monday, July 24, at 11 a.m.
In lieu
of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer
Society, the SPCA or the AuSable Forks Ambulance Service.

— A memorial Mass for Arthur W. DeMatteo of Port Henry will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2000, at St. Patrick’s
Church in Port Henry, with Father Michael Toth officiating. Burial
will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Arthur DeMatteo died
Thursday, July 20, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in
Plattsburgh.
Marion
Napper McAllister,
86, formerly of Burnt Hill in Saranac and Leonard Ave. in
Plattsburgh, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at the Meadowbrook Health
Care Facility.

DeLaire, 20, of
19 Fifth Street in Malone, died Friday morning, July 21, 2000, at
the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.
Born in
Potsdam on Dec. 17, 1979, he is the son of Dennis DeLaire and Gail
Avery.
Calling

Anna L. Steeg
Willsboro
— Anna L. Steeg, 97, of Point Road in Willsboro, died July 20,
2000.
She was
born in Stoughton, Mass., on Dec. 13, 1902, the daughter of John
and Amelia Pacewicz.
Mrs.
Steeg and her husband moved to Willsboro 34 years ago. She was a
member of St. Philip of Jesus Church.
A poetess
all her life, she received the Editors Choice Award for
outstanding Achievement in Poetry by the National Library of
Poetry in 1996. In that same year, she was also elected as a
distinguished member to the International Society of Poets.
Mrs.
Steeg is survived by a daughter, Patricia Reynolds of Willsboro; a
grandson, Clifford E. and his wife, Sherry Reynolds of Peru; a
granddaughter and her husband, Stephanie and Thomas DeFanti, MD of
Kennebunk, Maine; five great-grandchildren, Anna and Clifford
Reynolds III and Margaret, Mary and WiIliam DeFanti; two nephews,
Peter and Robert Phillips; and two nieces, Norma Haut and Marjory
Kelly.
She was
predeceased by her husband, Edwin in August 1999; and ten brothers
and sisters.
There
will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday,
July 22, 2000, at 11 a.m. at St. Philip’s Church in Willsboro,
with Rev. Delbel officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary
Cemetery.
The
family has requested, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to
High Peaks Hospice or the Willsboro Rescue Squad.

Richard
H. Stafford
Peru —
Richard H. Stafford, 76, of Peru and a winter resident of St.
Petersburg, Fla. since 1987, died on Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at
Shands Jacksonville Hospice in Jacksonville, Fla.
He was
born on Aug. 23, 1923, in Peru.
He
attended Keeseville Central School and the Pratt Institute, where
he studied mechanical engineering.
Richard
was the owner and president of Staffordshire Farms, Inc., a
600-acre dairy and crop farm in Peru, for over 45 years. He was a
32nd degree master Mason, a 55-year member of the AuSable River
Lodge in Keeseville, a member of the Oriental Shrine in Troy and a
50-year member of the Community Church in Peru.
His other
affiliations are president and board member for 25 years of the
Federal Land Bank & Farm Credit, a regional board member of
the Key Bank Northern for 25 years and chairman of the State
Committee, Agriculature Stabilization and Conservation Service
under the U.S.D.A. for 11 years. He was also a charter board
member of Apple Valley Senior Housing, the treasurer of the
Clinton-Essex Holstein Club for 15 years and a four-year board
member of the N.Y. Holstein Friesian Association. In addition, he
was also a member of the corporation of the Champlain Valley
Physicians Hospital for 10 years, a 20-year board member of Miner
Institute, the town supervisor of Peru for four years, the
president of the Clinton County Farm Bureau and the president of
the board of directors of the Clinton County Extension Services.
He is
survived by his wife of 56 years, Muriel; three sons, James
Stafford of Houston, Texas, David Stafford of Rapid City, S.D. and
Allan Stafford of Peru; two brothers, Carlos Stafford of Watertown
and Avery Stafford of Syracuse; and seven grandchildren.
A
memorial service will be held at St. Augustine’s Church in Peru
on Sunday, July 23, 2000, at 2 p.m.

of flowers, the family requests donations to the Community Church
of Peru, Richard Stafford Memorial.

Arthur W. DeMatteo
Port
Henry — Arthur W. DeMatteo, 78, of 103 South Main St. in Port
Henry, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in
Plattsburg.
He was
born in Schenectady on April 6, 1922, the son of Carmine and
Gelorma DeMatteo.
He was
owner-manager of Arturo’s Retail Store on South Main St. in Port
Henry. He was a naval veteran of World War II and a member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5802 in Mineville.
He is
survived by his wife, Mary DeMatteo; his sons, James Brooks of
Port Henry and Bruce Brooks of Niceville, Fla.; his daughter,
Rosalie Ruger of Watertown; his brother, Louis DeMatteo of
Schenectady; his sisters, Anna Ciciarrelli and Virginia DeMatteo,
both of Schenectady; his grandchildren, Scott Brooks, Stacey
Brooks, Tina Helms, Dawn Moran, Christine Brooks, Carol Bell and
Samantha Brooks; nine great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
There
will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a
time and place to be announced.

Francis
"Frank" C. Landry, 62, of Route 37 in Malone, died
unexpectedly Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at the Fletcher Allen
Health Care Center in Burlington, Vt., where he had been admitted
earlier in the day.
Born in
Malone, April 27, 1938, he was the son of the late George and Dora
(Harvey) Landry.
There are
no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated
Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church in Malone, with the
Rev. Thomas Moody officiating. Burial will be in St. John Bosco
Cemetery.

Francis L.
"Mike" Maille
Plattsburgh
— Mr. Francis L. "Mike" Maille, 75, of Oak St., died
Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was
born in Plattsburgh on Aug. 30, 1924, the son of Leo and Martha
(Lashway) Maille.
Francis
was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He
retired from the Plattsburgh Municipal Lighting in 1979. Francis
was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 255 and the
Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Plattsburgh Lodge 621,
where he was named Elk of the Year for 1991-1992. He was an avid
golfer, enjoyed bowling and was a member of St. Peter’s Church.
Francis
is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jacqueline "Jackie"
(Girard) Maille of Plattsburgh; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael
and Barbara Maille of Plattsburgh; a daughter and son-in-law,
Patti and Stephen Fuller of Plattsburgh; two sisters and a
brother-in-law, Leona Maille of Plattsburgh and Janet and William
Nichols of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, Stephen
Fuller, Katie Symons, Ryan Maille and Jordan Maille; three
great-grandchildren, Rayne, Brenna and Hayley; and several nieces
and nephews.
He was
predeceased by a brother, Armand Maille; and a sister, Mary
Prenoveau.

— Oliver "Harry" Rabideau, 59, formerly of Altona,
died Sunday, July 16, 2000, in Wisconsin as a result of an auto
accident.
He was
born in Lyon Mountain on Aug. 24, 1940, the son of the late Mose
and Alma (Oliver) Rabideau.
He
attended school in Altona and served in the U.S. Army.
He is
survived by one son, Mark Rabideau; a grandson, Cody; four
sisters, Mrs. Gedrick (Mary) Kingsby of Rutland, Vt., Mrs. John
(Jennifer) Koegler of Quincy, Mass., Mrs. Ed (Dorothy) Horstkotte
of Schenectady and Mrs. Judd (Phyllis) McCargan of Westville; two
brothers, Floyd Rabideau of Virginia and Marvin Rabideau of Jay;
and several nieces and nephews.
A
memorial service will be held on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the E.F.
Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. Burial will be in
Sheldon Hill Cemetery in Ellenburg Depot.
M. Frances Sumbler
Plattsburgh
— Mrs. M. Frances Sumbler, 94, formerly of Erin Court and the
Vilas Home, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at the CVPH Medical
Center.
She was
born in Saranac Lake on March 3, 1906, the daughter of Charles and
Mary Ann (Waldron) McKillip.
Frances
was a graduate of the Loretta Business School and was vice
president of the Sumbler Oil Co. of Plattsburgh. She was a member
of St. John’s Church, the Altar Rosary Society of St. John’s,
a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Mary
Immaculate Chapter 479 and the Plattsburgh Mothers Club. She
enjoyed knitting, reading and playing bridge.
Frances
was predeceased by her husband, Arthur J. Sumbler Sr. on Oct. 29,
1989.
She is
survived by her children, Jeannine and Robert Austin of Potsdam,
Arthur J. "A. J." Sumbler Jr. of Lovell, Maine, Celeste
and Arthur Hyzer of Marietta, Ga. and Scott D. And Kristin Sumbler
of Madison, Wis.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.

Forks — David K. Plumadore, 39, of the Grove Rd., died
Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in
Plattsburgh.
He was
born Dec. 7, 1961, in Plattsburgh, the son of John K. and Blanche
(Bombard) Plumadore.
He was
employed for several years at the Lake Placid Granite Co. He was
presently employed for Parrow Construction Co.
He was a
member of the following organizations: Chesterfield Fish and Game
Club, AuSable Valley Golf Course, Kushaqua Hunting Club Inc. and
the Shuffleboard League of the American Legion Post 504. He loved
to hunt, fish, trap and go camping.
He is
survived by his wife, Cindy Goyette Plumadore of AuSable Forks,
who he married Aug. 20, 1983; a son, David T. J. Plumadore of
AuSable Forks; his mother and father, John and Blanche Plumadore
of AuSable Forks; his mother-in-law, Mary Goyette of AuSable
Forks; a brother and sister-in-law, Drew and Melissa Plumadore of
Fern Lake; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Darcey and John
LaFountain of AuSable Forks and Denise and Tim Carte of Peru;
grandfather, Reene Goyette of Clarenceville, Quebec; several aunts
and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.
A
daughter, Samatha Jean Plumadore, died before him.

George A. Blaise
Middlebury,
vt. — George A. Blaise, age 79, passed away at the Helen Porter
Nursing Home on Monday, July 17, 2000.
He was
born in Ferrisburg, Vt. on July 19, 1920, the son of George and
Elsie (Perkins) Blaise.
As a
young man, he worked for several area farms. In the mid 1940’s,
he started working in the scrap metal business. In 1956, he
started his own scrap metal company in East Middlebury, Vt., which
is now the "Wyre Wheel". He worked there until he sold
his business in 1985. After selling, he continued to deal in the
scrap metal business.
He was
well-known throughout the county. He is also well-known for his
kindness to mankind. He loved dancing (kitchen hops) and
gardening. He raised chickens and sold his eggs to the Middlebury
Food Co-Op.
He is
survived by his son, Robert Blaise and his wife, Catherine of
Shoreham, Vt.; his daughters, Linda Desjadon of Vergennes, Vt.,
Nancy Barrows of Tennessee, Brenda Dutton of Forest Dale, Vt. and
Kathryn Welch and her husband, Randy of Port Henry. He is also
survived by his brother, Arthur Blaise of Cornwall, Vt.; and his
sisters, Sophia James of Middlebury, Vt. and Jean Mitchell of
Bristol, Vt.; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was

Jane (Morgan) Garrow.
He was
predeceased by his mother, Mary Jane Ross on June 4, 1999; his
grandfather, John Morgan; and his uncle, Michael Morgan.
Thomas is
survived by his father, Ronald E. Garrow and his companion, Claire
Cutair of Plattsburgh; a brother, Ronald John "Buster"
and his companion, Kimberly Kim of Plattsburgh; his paternal
grandparents, Edward and Bea Garrow of Morrisonville; his paternal
grandmother, Delia Alayon Morgan of Clayton, N.C.; a niece, Shawna

Victor J. Provost
Plattsburgh
— Victor J. Provost, 79, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at the CVPH
Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was
born in Redford on March 19, 1921, the son of Ernest and Irene
(Amell) Provost.
He was a
self-employed carpenter for over 30 years and later was employed
as a carpenter-supervisor for the Town of Plattsburgh for nine
years, retiring in 1982. He built his own home and that of many of
his children.
He served
in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1946 in U.S. Territory,
followed by service in the African Theatre during World War II. He
was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 in Plattsburgh
and American Legion Post 1619. He was a member of St. Alexander’s
Church in Morrisonville.
He is
survived by his wife of 58 years, Gertrude (Bell) Provost; six
sons, Carl Provost Sr. and his wife, Sharon of Plattsburgh, Rodney
Provost and his wife, Rae of Plattsburgh, Gary S. Provost and his
wife, Perry of Plattsburgh, Kevin Provost Sr. of Plattsburgh,
Daniel Provost of Rochester and James Provost and his companion,
Neva Katz of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Cheryl Daniels and her
spouse, Terry Daniels of West Chazy; 12 grandchildren; five
stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight
stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law and spouses, Herman

Blanche M. Soulia
Peru —
Blanche M. Soulia, 76, of Telegraph Road in Peru, died Saturday,
July 15, 2000, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.
She was
born in Keeseville on March 10, 1924, the daughter of David and
Catherine (Heath) Busha.
Blanche
married Oliver L. Soulia on Feb. 22, 1944, at St. John's Church in
Keeseville.
She
enjoyed flower gardening and baking.
Survivors
include her husband of 56 years, Oliver L. Soulia of Peru; two
daughters, Judy Reilly of Holiday, Fla., and Sandy Ashline of West
Chazy; two sons, John Soulia and Terry Soulia, both of Peru; one
daughter-in-law, Barbara Soulia; two sisters, Katy LaFountain and
Theresa Burrell, both of Keeseville; three brothers, Lawrence
Busha of Collinsville, Conn., Harold Busha and Richard Busha, both
of Keeseville; 11 grandchildren, Sharyl, Maurice, Dan, Eddie,
Shelly, Lisa, David, Sara, Karolyn, Jami and Wayne; 13
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her son, Wayne, in 1973.

James Grant Towne
Crown
Point — James Grant Towne, 73, of Pearl Street in Crown Point,
died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He died of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Jim was
born Aug. 23, 1926, in Crown Point, the son of Arthur Towne Sr.
and Genevieve Thatcher Coon.
He had
been employed at International Paper Company of Ticonderoga and
later was co-owner of Towne Brothers business for several years.
Jim was a well-known auto salesman at many local dealerships. He
owned and operated Jim Towne Auto Sales in Ticonderoga before
retiring.
He was an
Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Philippines. He
was a member and past commander of the Burnell Ross American
Legion Post 1403 in Crown Point.
He is
survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Bernice (Bowers) Towne;
two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Marilyn Towne of
Queensbury and Tyler and Annette Towne of Albany; one daughter,
Jamie Towne of Crown Point; one brother, Arthur Towne Jr. and his
wife Anna of Crown Point; three granddaughters, one grandson and
many nieces and nephews.
He was
predeceased by one son, David Dean Towne.
There
will be a memorial service conducted on Wednesday, July 19, 2000,
at 10 a.m. at the Crown Point Methodist Church. There will be a
private burial service at the Fairview Cemetery for family and
close friends at a later date.
The
family suggest that donations in his memory may be made to High
Peaks Hospice of Mineville.

Gerald C. Vincent Sr.
Plattsburgh
— Gerald C. Vincent Sr., 69, formerly of Chazy Lake, died
Sunday, July 16, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was
born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 18, 1931, the son of Cleveland and
Anita (Pollard) Vincent.
He was
employed by Republic Steel in Lyon Mountain for several years and
was also employed by the largest drilling and blasting companies
in New England for many years. He was active in drilling and
blasting when Route 374 was constructed over Dannemora mountain
and also assisted in constructing the Seabrook Nuclear Tunnel in
New Hampshire. He enjoyed bluegrass music and bingo.
He is
survived by his mother, Anita Vincent of Chazy Lake; four sons,
Henry Parrotte of Mooers, Gerald Vincent Jr. of Mooers, James
Vincent of Chazy Lake and Daniel Vincent of Plattsburgh; three
daughters, Debra Rabideau of Champlain, Cynthia Woodward of
Chateaugay and Joy Vassar of Wilmington; a brother, Melvin Vincent
of Bellmont; four sisters, Doris Reyor of Chazy Lake, Margie Lentz
of California, Judy LaPoint of Chazy Lake and Sharron Perry of
Malone; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces
and nephews.
His wife,
Shirley Vincent, died in 1994; his father died in 1990; and a
daughter, Rita Fay, died in 1964.
Calling
hours will be held on Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the E.F.
Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. Funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel. Burial will
follow in St. Ann's Cemetery in Mooers Forks.
Earl F. Burgess
Indian
Lake — Earl F. Burgess, 98, a life-long resident of Indian Lake,
died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at the Adirondack Medical Center at
Saranac Lake.
He was
born May 14, 1902, in Indian Lake, a son of John and Mary
(Lawrence) Burgess.
Mr.
Burgess ran a fire watch tower for the State of New York in the
Indian Lake Area for most of his life until he retired. He was an
avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was
predeceased by his wife, the former Violet Columbe, in 1988.
Survivors
include two sons, Frank Burgess of Indian Lake and Earl Burgess
Jr. of McMinnville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
He was
predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.
A
Memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family.
Friends

Indian Lake Volunteer Ambulance in care of the Fortune-Keough

Norwalk,
Conn. — Olivia Bertoia, 87, formerly of Rouses Point and
Newburg, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, in Norwalk Hospital,
Norwalk, Conn.
She was
born in Montreal, Canada, on Oct. 30, 1912, the daughter of the
late John and Rose (Mayetta) Mascheroni.
She was a
member of the Catholic Daughters and was a communicant of Our Lady
of Fatima Church in Wilton, Conn., where she resided.
Survivors
include a nephew, Dr. Martin Poppo of Longmeadow, Mass.; and a
niece, Connie Bathrick of Rhinebeck.
A funeral
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2000,
at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point, with
interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

David J. Harrison
Rouses
Point — David J. Harrison, 87, of Maple Street in Rouses Point,
died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at his home. He was held in the
loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country.
He was
born in Merrickville, Ontario, on July 24, 1912, the son of
Nathaniel Isles Harrison and Helena Esther (Scott) Harrison.
David
grew up in Pembroke, Ontario and lived a very interesting and
happy life. He has always been interested in working in programs
to help people and especially youth, including Boy Scouts,
R.S.V.P., helping senior citizens with their taxes, working at
CVPH in medical records and in the G.E.D. education programs.
He was a
past Master Mason of Champlain Lodge 237 and a charter member and
treasurer of the Champlain/Rouses Point Kiwanis Club. David always
loved to sing and he has served his church choirs since boyhood
and has cherished his membership in the Champlain Oratorio Society
through the years.
David
always loved the water, the outdoors and maps. He loved to work
with wood and has built many boats through the years.
David was
employed by Ayerst, McKenna and Harrison in Montreal from 1935 to
1953, when he was transferred to the Rouses Point plant, where he
continued to work until his "graduation" in 1977, for a
total of 43 years. Since he had never really retired, his work,
which he had always enjoyed, continued for many more years.
David
continued educating others and himself throughout his life, with
accounting courses and learning computer science when computers
were in their infancy. He had most recently worked as bookkeeper
and mentor at Harrisons Pharmacy for the last 18 years.
He is
survived by wife of 59 years, Margaret Murray (Slack) Harrison;
five sons, Rike and Bill Harrison of Roswell, Ga., Laurie (Kunz)
and Peter Harrison of Alburg, Vt., Michael Harrison of San Diego,
Calif., John Harrison of Calgary, Alberta, and Maria (Foglio) and
Daniel Harrison of Holland, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Gail
(Armstong) Harrison of California; ten grandchildren, Scott and
Greg Harrison, Sara, Deanna and Stephen Harrison, Alexandra and
Christopher Harrison and David, James and Elizabeth Harrison;
three stepgrandchildren, Cord, Wolli and Erik Koenig; and several
nieces and nephews.
David is
predeceased by two sisters, Margaret and Allison.
Services
will be performed on Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Three
Steeples United Methodist Church in Champlain with a reception
following the service. A Masonic committal service will follow at
Glenwood Cemetery.
In lieu
of flowers, David and his family request that donations be made to

Joseph J. Graziano Jr.
Colonie
— Joseph J. Graziano Jr., 85, died Sunday, July 16, 2000.
He was
born in Albany, the son of the late Joseph J. Sr. and Frances
(Impellaria) Graziano and was a lifelong area resident.
He served
in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Pat Aiezza Post 1181
C.W.V. He owned and operated the former Graziano's Market on
Livingston Avenue and later was employed for over 15 years in the
commissary at SUNY. He was a communicant of the Church of Our Lady
of Mercy.
He was
the beloved husband of Doris E. Wagoner Graziano; loving father of
James J. Graziano and his late wife Mary of Latham, Judith Arnold
and her husband Paul of Lady Lake, Fla., Jean Scott and her
husband Frank of Hudson and Marcia Russell and her husband William
of Keeseville; brother of the late Salvatore A. Graziano and
Concetta M. Carlo. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services will be held in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 8
Dudley Heights, Albany (opposite the Philip Livingston School on
Northern Blvd) on Wednesday morning at 8:45 and 9:30 a.m. at the
Church of Our Lady of Mercy. Relatives and friends are
respectfully invited to attend and may call at the funeral home on
Tuesday afternoon, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Our Lady
of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.

Plattsburgh, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at the CVPH Medical
Center in Plattsburgh.

Charles
N. Carrow, 74, of
McLaughlin Avenue in Tupper Lake, died unexpectedly at his home on
Monday, July 17, 2000.
He was
born in the Junction of Tupper Lake, the son of Adlard and
Elizabeth (LaRose) Carrow.
Calling
hours will be held on Tuesday, July 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A funeral Mass
will be held on Wednesday, July 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus
Church in Tupper Lake. Burial with full military honors will
follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Ruth Cora Beardsley
Plattsburgh
— Ruth Cora Beardsley, formerly of Cogan Ave., joined her family
in eternal peace Friday evening, July 14, 2000, at Meadowbrook
Healthcare Facility.
Ruth was
born Ruth Cora Walker in Plattsburgh on July 18, 1921, the
daughter of James and Hazel (Lavigne) Walker.
She
worked at Imperial Paper for ten years, then briefly at CIL
Ammunition Factory and then as a building service aid at
Plattsburgh State for ten years, retiring in 1976. Ruth was a
communicant member of the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh.
She was married June 18, 1943.
She is
survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Francis R. Beardsley
of Plattsburgh; a brother, Gary J. Walker, also of Plattsburgh;
and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth has
joined her parents and three brothers, Howard, Carl and Ross
Walker, who predeceased her.
Friends
and family may call at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh
to pay their respects Monday afternoon from noon to 2 p.m. Funeral
services will follow at 2:15 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with
the Rev. Jack Buttimer, pastor of the United Methodist Church in
Plattsburgh, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
