Thelma J. Sanborn
Willsboro
— Thelma J. Sanborn, 84, died at the Elizabethtown Community
Hospital on June 30, 2000.
She was
born in Willsboro on June 6, 1916, the daughter of Walter and Mary
(Tero) Jerdo.
For over
40 years she worked for the Grand Union, many of them as the
produce manager. She was a member of the Willsboro Congregational
United Church of Christ, the UCC Women’s Fellowship, the
Willsboro New Beginning’s Group and the Lady Bug Quilters.
Mrs.
Sanborn is survived by one son and his wife, Roger and Judith
Sanborn of Roanoke, Va.; two granddaughters, Tiffini Bell and
Vanessa Sparrow, both of Roanoke; three great-grandchildren,
Kelleyann, Spencer and Zachary; one sister, Ella Mero of
Willsboro; and one brother and his wife, Raymond and Jo Jerdo.
Calling
hours will be held Sunday, July 2, 2000, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the
Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro. Funeral services will be held
Monday, July 3, 2000, at 11 a.m. at the Willsboro Congregational
Church of Christ.
In lieu
of flowers, memorials in her memory may be made to the Willsboro
Rescue Squad.
Susan M. Sloan
Glens
Falls — Susan M. Sloan (formerly Susan S. Minear), 54, died
peacefully with her family at New York Presbyterian Hospital on
June 24, 2000.
She was
born in Washington, D.C., on April 3, 1946, the daughter of the
late Dr. Ruell A. Sloan and Dr. Margaret H. Sloan.
Besides
her daughter, Paige A. Minear, Susan is survived by her brothers,
Harry H. Sloan and his wife, Cheryl and two children, Mia and Ian
and Ruell A. Sloan and his wife, Lee Saunders Sloan; and her
brother-in-law, Law B. Watkins and his two children, Nathaniel and
Sophia.
She was
predeceased by her sister, Margaret S. Watkins.
Susan
dedicated her life to serving children with special needs. Most
recently she was employed by the WSWHE Board of Cooperative
Educational Services (BOCES) in the Glens Falls area as a school
social worker.
Just
before her death, Susan wrote, "I bid a loving farewell to my
family, friends and colleagues. I don’t want anyone to worry or
be sad. I am not afraid. I have special guides to help me to the
next place. I hope to see all of you again someday. In the
meantime, put your hand over your heart and think of me. I am with
you whenever you need me. Death is just another adventure."
In lieu

is a program she had long believed in. Trail Blazers facilitates
the development of values and life skills essential for productive

— Sophia M. Jones, 79, died on Friday, June 30, 2000.
She
was born in Utica, the daughter of Stanley and Mary Modliszewski.
Mrs.
Jones lived in Plattsburgh most of her adult life. She worked as a
librarian’s assistant in the Plattsburgh city school district.
She
is survived by her husband, Gordon; her children, Emily Jones,
Geoffrey (Ann Buerschaper) Jones, Susan Jones, Barbara (Kevin Cox)
Jones-Cox of Sterling, Va.; her grandchildren, Kelsey Cox, Lauren
Cox and Jason Pleau; her brother, Richard (Dorothy) Modliszewski;
her sister-in-law, Rose Jones; her brother-in-law, Eugene
Kolinski; and her nieces and nephews, Mary Ann Stojko, Thomas
Pasternak, Mary Pat Downs, Danny Moore, Donna Jones, Deborah

formerly of Chazy, died Thursday, June 29, 2000, at the Clinton

Beverly Bryant
Jay —
Beverly Bryant, 29, of Jay, passed away on June 12, 2000, at CVPH
Medical Center of terminal cancer.
Beverly
was born March 24, 1971, in Argencia, Newfoundland, Canada.
She
graduated from AuSable Valley High School in 1989.
Beverly
moved to Pacifica, Calif., in 1995 and was employed at Metro
Furniture in Media Resources in Burlingame, Calif.
She left
behind her mother and stepfather, Wanita and W. Pete Richardson of
Valley Rd. in Jay; her father and stepmother, John and Gretchen
Bryant of Saranac; her brothers, John Bryant III of Dannemora,
Robert Bryant of California, Gary Nephew of Mooers Forks and
Justin Bryant of Saranac; her sisters, Farrah Nephew of
Plattsburgh and Renee Bryant of Saranac; her grandparents,
Virginia and George Coolidge of Peru and Ila Campbell of Saranac;
and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Bev’s
family also wants to thank all the staff on the 5th floor for all
the care they gave Beverly while she was in the hospital.
Beverly
started a perennial garden at her home on Valley Road in Jay.
Wanita and Pete want to thank everyone who has added to her
garden. Everyone is welcome to stop by to visit any time they
would like. Beverly was cremated and her ashes were put in her
garden at her request.

— A graveside service for William Francis Lytle, 91, of 4800
Ocean Beach Blvd. in Cocoa Beach, Fla. and a summer resident of
Lake Titus, who died on Tuesday, June 13, 2000, in Cocoa Beach,
will be held Monday at noon at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on the Lake
Titus Road in Malone, with Msgr. C. John McAvoy officiating.

Peter Warren Todd
Ticonderoga
— Peter Warren Todd, 64, of Ticonderoga and Chittenden, Vt.,
passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at his residence in
Ticonderoga, surrounded by his family.
Born in
Flushing on Feb. 28, 1936, he was the son of the late Archibald
James Todd and Alida Beryl (Burr) Todd, who survives him, of
Ocala, Fla.
Mr. Todd
was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was the owner and operator of
Todd Transportation Co. of Rutland, Vt. The business, started by
he and his brother in 1968, is now run by their children, the
fourth generation in the moving and storage business.
Mr. Todd
has been a summer resident of Ticonderoga since 1995. He was a
member of the Cornerstone Alliance Church of Ticonderoga and
served as an elder in the church.
In
addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 39 years,
Joyce Ann (McClurg) Todd; one son, Douglas Warren Todd of
Chittenden, Vt.; two daughters, Jennifer Ann Powell of Wilder,
Vt., and Rebecca Holley Bonn of Rutland, Vt; and one brother, A.
Richmond Todd of Ocala, Fla. He is also survived by four
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There
will be no calling hours. A memorial service will take place at 1
p.m. on Saturday, July 1st, at the Cornerstone Alliance Church,
Montcalm Street, in Ticonderoga. The Rev. Mike Putzke, pastor,
will officiate, assisted by Mr. Todd’s brother-in-law, the Rev.
Lloyd H. Garrett.

— Dorothy E. Dermody, 85, of Mason St. in Morrisonville, died
Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was
born in Schuyler Falls on April 9, 1915, the daughter of Floyd and
Sophia (Paquette) Dashnaw.
She was
employed for a time at Forrence Orchards in Peru.
She was a
communicant of St. Alexander’s Church.
She
enjoyed her cat, driving and senior citizen organizations.
Her
daughter-in-law, Joanne, and her great-grandson and his finance,
Westley Dermody Jr. and Amy, all spent a great deal of time caring
for Dorothy at her home.
Survivors
include one daughter-in-law, Joanne Dermody of Morrisonville; one
brother and sister-in-law, Norbert "Buck" and Mary
Dashnaw of Peru; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Gladys and
Harold Maulding of Peru and Norma Gadeaus of Swanton, Vt.; two
grandchildren, Westley Dermody Sr. and Patricia Dermody; six
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her husband, Thomas Dermody in 1968; her son,
Lester Dermody in 1983; her granddaughter, Leslie Ann Dermody in
1979; two sisters, Edna Ormsby and Florrence Covel; and two
brothers, Jack Dashnaw and Guy Dashnaw.
Calling
hours and services will be private and at the convenience of the
family. Burial will be in St. Alexander’s Cemetery.

Dr. George W. Gibson
West
Chester, Ohio — Dr. George W. Gibson, 47, formerly of Chazy,
died June, 22, 2000.
Dr.
Gibson is the son of the late Charles and Alice (Klause) Gibson.
Friend
and mentor to many, he was a principal scientist at Proctor and
Gamble. Previously he was a pathologist at Wyeth-Ayerst in Chazy
from 1985 to 1990.
He was
active in the boy scouts (Chenango District Adirondack Council)
and the Adirondack Mountain 46ers Club.
He was
the loving husband of Paige Smith and dear brother of Judy
Gibson-Noyes and Mark and Charles Gibson.
There
will be no public calling hours. Services will be private and at
the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Port Douglas
Cemetery.

Champlain Committee, Essex, NY or the Oxford United Methodist

Louise G. Kellar
Plattsburgh
— Louise G. Kellar, 87, of Lynde Street, died on Wednesday, June
28, 2000, at her home.
She was
born in Lake Placid on May 8, 1913, the daughter of George and
Mary Elizabeth (Tully) Doty.
Mrs.
Kellar married Robert T. Kellar on April 17, 1934, at the Trinity
Episcopal Church. Mr. Kellar died in 1984.
She was a
member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Plattsburgh and also a
member of the Clinton County Council of the Arts and the Home
Bureau.
Mrs.
Kellar was a local artist and crafter who enjoyed painting in
several mediums including canvas, tinware and ceramics. She taught
amateur oil painting at her antiques and crafts shop,
"Kellar's Koop", on Clinton Street. Mrs. Kellar was also
active in Little Theatre.
Survivors
include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert S. and Pamela Kellar
of New Port Richey, Fla.; one brother, Hiram Doty of Stockbridge
Mass.; one sister, Helen Walker of Plattsburgh; three
grandchildren, Kimberly and her husband, Darrell Yeager, of New
Port Richey, Kerry and her husband, Keith Scribner, of Sayville
and R. Kristofer and his wife, Yvonne Kellar; two
great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Grace Scribner of Oviedo, Fla.;
and many nieces and nephews.
Her half
sister, Kathryn Koerber and her half brother, Robert Koerber, died
earlier.

hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W.
Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be
Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will

— Virginia "Tooty" Soluri, 62, of 214 Weldon Dr. in
Watertown, died at 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning at her home.
She was
born in Watertown on May 8, 1938, the daughter of the late Peter
and Belva (Lunderman) Booras.
She
attended Watertown schools. After leaving school, she worked as a
waitress for several local restaurants in the Watertown area.
She is
survived by one son, Ralph F. Soluri of Champlain; three brothers,
William, George and Harry Booras, all of Watertown; and two
granddaughters.
Calling
hours will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the Hart
& Bruce Funeral Home in Watertown. The funeral services will
be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will
follow.

Wagner, 19, of 42
Huber Road in Warrensburg-Thurman, passed away on Friday, June 16,
2000, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was
born on April 22, 1981, in Glens Falls, the son of James Darrah of
Wilton and Amy (Wagner) Combs of Warrensburg.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at the Thurman
Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Herrmann, pastor, officiating.

Rose J. Carpenter
Cadyville
— Rose J. Carpenter, 89, of Cedar Hedge Nursing Home and
formerly of Kennedy Road in Cadyville, died Saturday, June 24,
2000.
She was
born in Williamstown, Mass., on Aug. 9, 1910, the daughter of
Leland Potter Jenks and Elizabeth (Rose) Jenks.
Rose
married Frank L. Carpenter on Sept. 17, 1938.
She was a
member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was very active
and served as a deacon. She was also very active in the women’s
auxiliary of the Plattsburgh College-Community Orchestra.
Mrs.
Carpenter attended Williamstown schools and graduated with high
honors in French from Russell Sage College in Troy. She received
her masters degree in library science from SUNY Albany. She worked
for 5 years at Williams College Library and was later employed by
Saranac Central School for 10 years as an elementary librarian in
the schools of Morrisonville and Cadyville, retiring in 1976.
During
the last seven years of her life, she was lovingly cared for by
the staff at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home, members of the First
Presbyterian Church of Plattsburgh and friends and family.
Survivors
include her husband, Frank L. Carpenter of Morrisonville; one son
and daughter-in-law, David and Carol Carpenter of Rainbow Lake;
two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie Rose and Robert Briggs of
Erie, Pa. and Barbara and Harold Litz of Warsaw; five
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.
One
sister, Esther Greene, died in 1996.

hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker
Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be Thursday at
10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in
the Riverside Cemetery.

Richard D. McCormick
Keeseville
— Richard D. McCormick, 65, of the Mace Chasm Rd., died Tuesday,
June 27, 2000, at his residence.
He was
born in Keeseville Sept. 17, 1934, the son of J. Dewey and Irene
(Pine) McCormick.
Mr.
McCormick graduated from Keeseville High School and from
Plattsburgh State University with a B.A. in elementary education
and a M.A. in administration. He was a member of the Plattsburgh
State Varsity Soccer Team.
He served
in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1959. He served in the Army reserve
from 1959 to 1965.
He taught
at Keeseville Elementary School for 27 years. He was the
Keeseville Elementary School Principal for ten years, retiring in
1996.
He
coached Boys Junior Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Soccer, was
secretary of the Northern Pike Swim Team and treasurer of the
AuSable Valley Grange. He worked on the Adirondack boats at
AuSable Chasm for 20 summers and enjoyed hunting, gardening and
refinishing furniture.
Mr.
McCormick was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in
Keeseville.
Survivors
include his wife, the former Jacqueline Durkee, whom he married
Nov. 7, 1958, at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh; three sons
and two daughters-in-law, Michael D. McCormick and Catherine M.
Paul of Peru, Richard A. and Karen L. McCormick of Rutherfordton,
N.C. and Peter J. McCormick of Amsterdam; one daughter and
son-in-law, Jennifer A. and Derek E. Knapp of Keeseville; six
grandchildren, Richard J., Caitlyn E., Henry D. and Emily 0.
McCormick and Rachel E. and Alexander M. Knapp; two brothers and
sisters-in-law, James and Katherine McCormick and Donald and Mary
McCormick, all of Keeseville; three sisters and two
brothers-in-law, Connie Hamilton, Judy and Jack LeClair, all of
Keeseville and Jean and Andy Cavallero of Wilmington; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
He was
predeceased by his parents; and one brother-in-law, John Hamilton.

— Athena Courtsunis Boolukos, 94, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at
the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was
born in Skoura, Greece, on Jan. 6, 1906, the daughter of John and
Clovia (Patsalos) Courtsunis.
She and
her husband Nicholas owned and operated the Homemade Candy Co. in
Kingston for many years.
She is
survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. George and Ella
Boolukos of Plattsburgh, John and Lillian Boolukos of Tarpon
Springs, Fla., and Peter and Marge Boolukos of Salisbury, Md.; a
sister, Costantina Cholakis of Beacon; a sister-in-law, Bessie
Courtsunis of Beacon; ten grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
Her
husband Nicholas died in 1962. A brother and a sister also died
earlier.

Mildred Mary
(Desotelle) Rascoe
PLATTSBURGH
— Mildred Mary (Desotelle) Rascoe, 81, of Beekman Towers,
entered eternal peace Saturday June 24, 2000 at CVPH Medical
Center in Plattsburgh.
She was
born in Plattsburgh, Jan. 27, 1919, the daughter of Adolphus and
Dorothy (Martineau) Mitchell.
Mildred
was a chef for many years at the Southern and the Cadillac Club.
She was also employed by JCEO as a cook for Head Start.
She
enjoyed cooking, going to yard sales and spending time with her
family. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and
friend.
She is
survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Dennis Casey.
Five sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Barbara Rascoe of Black
Lake, and Richard and Grace Rascoe, Maynard and Margaret (Peg)
Rascoe, Michael Rascoe and companion Alice Lavene, Dale and Esther
Rascoe, all residing in Plattsburgh; 23 grandchildren and 25 great
grandchildren. Her brothers and their spouses, Lawrence and Nancy
Mitchell of Wyckoff, N.J., Gary and Maryann Mitchell of
Plattsburgh, Harry "Junior" Mitchell of Plattsburgh,
Mrs. Maynard (Gloria) Mitchell of Plattsburgh, her only sister
Helen Stone of Hughsville, Pa.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law
Andrew and Frances Rascoe of Plattsburgh; several nieces and
nephews; and a lifelong friend, Kay Collins, of Plattsburgh.
Mildred

Desotelle and Maynard Mitchell; her sisters, Bertha LaMarche and
Sylvia LaChaunce, and her brother-in-law Richard LaChaunce.

Mary O’Brien Higgins
AUSABLE
FORKS — Mary O’Brien Higgins, 82, formerly of Palmer Street
and Upper Marlboro, Md., died Friday, June 23, 2000 in Maryland.
She was
born in Plattsburgh, July 31, 1917, the daughter of Patrick and
Emma "Call" O’Brien.
She
graduated from Albany Business College with a degree in
bookkeeping and was employed at the J&J Rogers Co. and the
Lake Placid Club. Mary also worked at the Lottery Office in
Plattsburgh.
She was a
volunteer at Bingo for Mount Assumption Institute in Plattsburgh
and Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks. She was also a member of
the Senior Citizens FAN club and Holy Name Church of AuSable
Forks, where she was a lector for many years. She was a member of
the American Legion Post 504 Auxiliary of AuSable Forks. In 1980,
she was a bookkeeper at the Olympics in Lake Placid.
Mary was
the wife of the late Gerald L. Higgins, whom she met at the Armed
Forces Redistribution Station in Lake Placid, where she was
employed. They were married May 13, 1945, at the Lake Placid Club.
Jerry died December 6, 1982.
She is
survived by two sons, Brian Higgins of McLean, Va., and Thomas
Higgins of Reston, Va.; a daughter, Patricia Higgins of Upper
Marlboro, Md.; mother-in-law of Brenda Nadijcka and Judy Higgins
and grandmother of Michael, Nate and Megan; two brothers,
Bartholomew "Bart" O’Brien of Oneida and Patrick J. O’Brien
of California; four cousins.
A brother
and a sister-in-law, Hugh and Helen O’Brien, and a sister,
Genevieve O’Brien Rooney, died before her. Calling hours will be
Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. at Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home, AuSable
Forks. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at
Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks with burial to follow
in the parish cemetery. Memorials to her may be made to the Holy
Name School Memorial Fund.
Marie Elizabeth Duprey
AUSABLE
FORKS — Marie Elizabeth Duprey, 92, Formerly of the Turnpike
Road, AuSable Forks and the Evergreen Nursing Home, Plattsburgh,
died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh.
She was
born in Keeseville, Jan. 21, 1908, the daughter of Napolean and
Elizabeth "Nolan" LaRose.
Marie
enjoyed her flower garden, her vegetable garden and playing Bingo
at the Nursing Home. She was a devoted wife, mother and
grandmother. She was employed for several years at J&J Rogers
Co., in AuSable Forks, The Locust Inn of Wilmington & the
Gateway Restaurant in Wilmington, retiring around 1964.
Marie is
survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Eola Duprey of Hudson
Falls and Gerry and Mark Rasco of Plattsburgh; a son and daughter
in law, Winston and Bev Duprey of Silver Lake; and a stepbrother,
Raymond LaRose of Hudson Falls; 10 grandchildren; 15 great
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her
husband, Chester Duprey, whom she married Sept. 15, 1931, died
April 7, 1987.
Calling
hours will be held Monday, at 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated
Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church in Black Brook.
Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Matthew’s Cemetery,
Black Brook. Memorials to her may be made to AuSable Forks
Volunteer Ambulance Service or by Mass cards.
Rose E. Bailey
MINEVILLE
— Rose E. Bailey, 86, of Bartlett Pond Road, Mineville, died
Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Moses-Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga.
Mrs.
Bailey was born in Mineville, Nov. 15, 1913, the daughter of
Leonard and Frances (Jerdon) Colburn.
She was
married to Lloyd Bailey, who died in 1970. She was a cook at the
Keene Valley Neighborhood House for many years. Rose dedicated her
life and love to her family, her flowers and her soap operas.
She is
survived by one daughter, Barbara McConley of Mineville, five
granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren.
"Our
grandmother taught us how to hope and to always have faith in
whatever we did. She brought us joy and put a smile on our face in
our darkest days. There will never be another who will ever take
her place in our hearts and in our souls. With love, granddaughter
Nicole."
Calling
hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, at Marvin’s
Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Funeral services will follow at 4
p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery in
Keene.

the Franklin County Nursing Home, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at

Born
March 26, 1910, in Burke, she was the daughter of Isaac J. and
Rose Buskey Dumas.

James Wilson
Keeseville
— James Wilson, 80, of Hill St. in Keeseville, died on Friday,
June 23, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was
born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Aug. 19, 1919, the son of Samual G.
and Mamie (Miller) Wilson.
He was a
veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He
was retired from the U.S. Air Force in October 1968, for
disability, following a 28-year military career. After retirement
he earned an associate degree from Clinton Community College and
his bachelors degree from Plattsburgh State University. He retired
from the Clinton County Department of Social Services in 1984,
where he was employed as a senior child support enforcement
investigator.
He served
in the Southwest Pacific Theater of operations in World War II, as
well as the Korean and Vietnam theaters of operations. His
military decorations include: Air Force Commendation Medal, Army
Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific
Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army Occupation Medal,
National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Vietnam
Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, United Nations
Service Medal, United Nations Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit
Award, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Small Arms Expert
Marksmanship Ribbon (Air Force), Philippine Liberation Ribbon,
Philippine Independence Ribbon, plus six bronze campaign service
stars, three bronze oak leaf clusters and one silver oak leaf
cluster.
He was a
member of the Keeseville Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks
Lodge 2072, a life member of the Keeseville Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post 1505, a life member of the PFC Robert A. LaFountain
Chapter 179, Disabled American Veterans in Peru and a life member
of the Air Force Sergeants Association.
Survivors
include his wife, Mary L. Wilson; a daughter, Ladonna M. Allamon;
a son, Dennis M. Wilson, all of Rome; five grandchildren; nephews;
nieces; one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter; a very close
friend, Anita Harper of Keeseville; and special friends, Art North
and Isabelle, Bob and Betty Jane Turoff and Jennifer and Hank
Minetriz and baby, Lyndy Jameson.
He was
predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, William H. and
Samual G.
Calling
hours will be held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral
Home in Keeseville. Members of the Keeseville Benevolent and
Protective Order of Elks Lodge 2072 will meet at 7:15 p.m. for
service. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the
funeral home chapel, with Pastor David W. Drake Jr., pastor of the
Good Shepard Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will
follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Keeseville, with full military
honors to be accorded following committal prayers.

Mary G. Cembalski
Witherbee
— Mary G. Cembalski, 92, of Witherbee, died on Friday, June 23,
2000, at the Horace Nye Home in Elizabethtown.
She was
born in Florence, Vt., on Sept. 6, 1907, the daughter of Steve and
Lena (Barron) Gwardyak.
She was
married to Wesley Cembalski at Poultney, Vt., on June 19, 1927. He
died on Dec. 20, 1993.
Mrs
Cembalski is survived by three daughters, Frances Eastman of
Schenectady, Anna Myers of Witherbee and Mary Anne Opalski of
Hampstead, N.C.; two sons, Thomas Cembalski of Ticonderoga and
Frank Cembalski of Schenectady; 19 grandchildren; and 30
great-grandchildren.
Calling
hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Harland Funeral
Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated
Monday at 10 a.m. at the Church of All Saints in Mineville, with
Rev. Michael Toth officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter
& Paul Cemetery.

Kathryn A. Cook
Chateaugay
— Kathryn A. Cook, 74, of Church St. in Chateaugay, died Friday,
June 23, 2000, at Fletcher Allen Health Care Center in Burlington,
Vt.
Born in
Malone on March 18, 1926, she was the daughter of Lawrence and
Catherine (Brown) McDonald.
She was
married to Robert Cook on Jan. 22, 1947, in St Patrick’s Church
in Chateaugay. He predeceased her on Oct. 27, 1974.
Mrs. Cook
was a graduate of Chateaugay High School. She was a seamstress,
taking in sewing from the community and a home health aid for area
families. Kathryn was dedicated to her family, loved her family
and friends, enjoyed cooking, her dog, "Buffy" and the
fellowship she found at Jean’s Quik Stop. She also worked for
the Board of Elections District 2 in Chateaugay.
She was a
communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay and a former
member of The Home Bureau in Chateaugay.
Mrs. Cook
is survived by her nine children, Barbara and Stephen Bolia of
Springfield, Ohio, Brenda and Pat Quinn of Chateaugay, Julie and
Dick Jarvis of Chateaugay, Marylou and Robert Hanno of Candor, Tom
and Betty Cook of Chateaugay, Larry and Lynne Cook of Ozone Park,
Terry and Becky Cook of Saranac Lake, Freddie Cook and Lorrie
South of Chateaugay and Robert Cook of Chateaugay; 20
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Those
that preceded in death were her parents; her husband; Sean Cook, a
grandson, on Sept. 21, 1987; and three brothers, Robert, James and
John McDonald.
Calling
hours will be at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Monday, June 26,
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at
10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, in St. Patrick’s Church, with Rev.
Fay Ager officiating. Burial will take place at Eastside Cemetery
in Chateaugay.

Charles Paul Maloy Jr.
Rouses
Point — Charles Paul Maloy Jr., 87, died Saturday, June 24,
2000, at his home in Rouses Point.
He was
born in Berlin, N.H. on Sept. 24, 1912, the son of Charles Paul
and Mabel (Buker) Maloy.
Mr. Maloy
retired after 50 years of employment with Canadian National
Railway in Rouses Point. He had interests in boating, cars, his
home and his little dog.
Survivors
include a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Maloy and his wife
Carol of Stillwater; a daughter, Judith Maloy of Rouses Point; two
grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Maloy and his wife
Rebecca and Molly Montayne and her husband James; and two
great-grandchildren, Brandon and Meghan Montayne.
He is
predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Laundrie) Maloy, who died in
1995.

— Graveside services for Madeline M. Swinton, who passed away on

Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.
