Feinberg Bergman
PLATTSBURGH Ruth Feinberg Bergman, 84, of
Oceanside, Long Island, and formerly of Plattsburgh, died Thursday Dec. 30, 1999 at her
residence.
She was born in Plattsburgh on March 3, 1915, the
daughter of Senator Benjamin F. and Leah Feinberg. Senator Feinberg was the former
majority leader and President Pro-Tem of the N.Y.S. Senate and chairman of the N.Y.S.
Public Service Commision.
She was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School and
Skidmore College and was employed for many years by B. Altman's Department Store as
executive of the personnel training department until 1945. She was very active in civic
and cultural affairs.
She married Irving Bergman, a prominent labor
attorney who was executive of the N.Y.S. Labor Relations Board and director of the N.Y.S.
Mediation Service. Mr. Bergman also operated a private practice since 1951.
She is survived by four children and their
spouses, Julian and Marcia Bergman of Oceanside, L.I., James Bergman of Philadelphia, Pa.,
Jessica and Maury Honig of Queens, Peter Bergman of Houston, Texas; a brother and
sister-in-law, the Honorable Robert and Laurie Feinberg of Plattsburgh and Del Ray Beach,
Fla., and two grandchildren, Stacey Marza of Long Beach, L.I., and Erica Bergman of
Oceanside, L.I.
Her husband, Irving Bergman, died before her.
Services will be held at the convenience of the
family. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum in Beth Israel Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
The O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements.
Donald I. Lashway
ALTONA Donald I. Lashway, 67, died Friday,
Dec. 31, 1999 at his residence. He was born in Ellenburg on April 13, 1932, the son of
George and Martha (Demarais) Lashway.
He was employed as a roofer for many years for
Gates Roofing and Monahan & Loughlin Roofing of Plattsburgh. He was a member of Holy
Angels Church and enjoyed NASCAR racing and golfing.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law,
Melvin Lashway and his companion Michelle King of Mooers, Thomas and Jackie Lashway of
Ellenburg Center, eight daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Kevin Finlayson of Ellenburg
Center, Debra and James Bushey of Altona, Betty and Ronald Brunet of Ellenburg Center,
Darlene and Dale Brunet of Ellenburg Center, Sharron and Gary McDonald of Altona, Allyson
and Ronald Manor of Ellenburg Depot, Brenda and James LaBombard of Ellenburg Center,
Crissy and Brad McDonald of Champlain, Donalds companion, Therese Courneene of
Plattsburgh; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo and Marge Lashway of Ellenburg Depot,
Leonard and Pearl Lashway of Ellenburg Depot, Walter and Athlie Lashway of Plattsburgh; a
sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Beaman LaBarre of Watertown, 24 grandchildren, six
great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
His wife, Mildred Lashway, died in January of
1994.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday from Holy Angels Church in Altona. Burial will
be in the parish cemetery in the spring. A gathering will be held after the Mass at the
Brenda and James LaBombard residence.
Henry V. Hemingway
WEST CHAZY Henry V. Hemingway, 87, of the
Military Turnpike, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh
as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Altona on July 19, 1912, son of
Edgar and Sarah (Manor) Hemingway.
Henry had been employed in Mineville as a miner,
he worked at a dairy farm and was employed by Georgia Pacific in Plattsburgh for over 30
years, retiring in 1977. Henry was a member of St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Henry
was an avid gardener, enjoyed Bingo, traveling and was a devoted family man.
Henry is survived by his wife, the former Edith
I. Bulriss, of West Chazy, three daughters and one son-in-law, Deloris Adams of
Plattsburgh, Etta LaValley of West Chazy, Norine and Harvey Averill of West Chazy; two
sisters, Martha Bulriss of Plattsburgh, Rita Blinn of Farmington, Conn; three
grandchildren, Debbie Daniels, Tammy Morris, Robin Averill, four great-grandchildren,
Derrick Daniels, Courtney Daniels, Michael Morris, Jennifer Morris and several nieces and
nephews.
Henry was pre-deceased by four sisters, Mable
Govan, Mildred Chase, Eva Lucia, Doris LaFave; two brothers, Ernest Hemingway, Edgar
Hemingway, Jr. and a grandson, Todd LaValley.
Calling hours will be Monday, Jan. 3, 2000 from
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial
will follow in Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.
MARY E. COTY,
88, of Route 3, Morrisonville, died on Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 at her home. Mrs. Coty was
born in Saranac on Aug. 17, 1911 the daughter of Ernest and Mabel (Salls) Wright.

JAMES C. JOCK, 72, of Massena, and
formerly of Malone, died Thursday evening Dec. 30, 1999 at the Memorial Hospital in
Massena.
Calling hours will be Monday from 9 until 10:45
a.m. at the Bruso-Desynoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at Joseph's Church in Malone, with Msgr. C. John McAvoy
officiating. Burial will be in St. John Bosco Cemetery in Malone in the Spring.

MAURICE E. VINCELLETTE, 71, of Water
St., Fort Covington, died unexpectedly early Friday morning, Dec. 31, 1999, at his home.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. at the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Fort
Covington, with the Rev. Chris Lauzon officiating. Burial will take place in the Spring.

Sally A. St. Dennis
Plattsburgh Miss Sally A. St. Dennis, 48, of Lynn
Ave. died Wednesday Dec. 29, 1999 at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Plattsburgh
on March 13, 1951 the daughter of James A. and Marion (Rock) St. Dennis.
Sally was a graduate of Peru High School Class of 1969,
she worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles and at Montgomery Ward. She was a member of
St. Alexander's Church.
Sally is survived by her parents, James A. and Marion St.
Dennis of Morrisonville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James H. and Beverly St. Dennis
of Schuyler Falls; Nicholas R. St. Dennis of West Plattsburgh; a sister and a
brother-in-law, Marianne and Vincent Ruggiero of Malone; a nephew, James I. St. Dennis;
and three nieces, Melissa R. Snow, Sara A. Ruggiero, Rachele E. Ruggiero.
The family will receive guests Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4
p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at

Leo J. Gates, Jr., 52, of Underwood Avenue,
Plattsburgh, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany. He was
born in Saranac Lake on Feb. 16, 1947, son of Leo J. and Elizabeth L. (Banker) Gates, Sr.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 31,
1999 at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh.
Mae Diane Lawrence, 94, of East Main St., The
Mitchell House, Burke died Dec. 30, 1999 at Alice Hyde Medical Center,, Malone. Born in
Ellenburg on May 15, 1905.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. on May 15, 2000 in St.
Patrick's Church with Rev. Fay Ager of St. Patrick's Church officiating. Burial will take
place at St Patrick's Cemetery, Chateaugay in the spring.

Barbara Matthie, 40, of 36 Webb Ave., Malone died
Dec. 28, 1999 at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone. She was born in Potsdam on Feb. 24,
1959.

Dec. 31, 1999 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday Dec.

William E. Taylor, 77, of Westfield, N.J.,
died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999 at Uihlein Mercy Center, Lake Placid. He was born May 14,
1999.

Madeleine C. Millet
PLATTSBURGHMadeleine C. Millet, 88,
formerly of the Allen Road, died Friday, December 24,1999 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare
Facility. She was born on October 30, 1911 in St. Jean, Quebec, the daughter of Arsene and
Hermina (Bessette) Moreau.
Mrs. Millet married Alfred J. Millet in 1935. He
died February 12, 1998. Madeleine traveled extensively throughout the world during the
years she and her husband worked for the U.S. Foreign Service until retiring in 1965.
Mrs. Millet is survived by one sister-in-law,
Bernadette Deyo of Deland, Fla; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no public services. Burial will
take place at a later date in St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery on Cumberland Head. The R.W.
Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
Wendell J. Bordeau
WEST CHAZY Mr. Wendell J. Bordeau, 38, of
the LaPlante Road, died Monday December 27, 1999 at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born
in Plattsburgh on May 9, 1961 the son of Andrew W. and Veronica (Martineau) Bordeau.
Wendell was employed as a automobile
reconditioner for Easy Wheels. He was a avid outdoorsmen enjoying fishing and hunting. His
favorite pastime was playing his guitar. Wendell was a member of St. Josephs Church West
Chazy.
He is survived by his wife whom he married June
18, 1988, Shirley (LaDuke) Bordeau of West Chazy; two daughters, Courteney and Brittany at
home, his parents, Andrew and Veronica Bordeau of Zephyr Hills, Fla., four sisters and
three brothers-in-law, Patricia and John Munson of Chazy, Debra and Terry Norton of West
Chazy, Diane Bedard of Mooers Forks, Tina and Ron Barbour of Conn; four brothers and four
sisters-in-law, Rodney and Louella Bordeau of West Chazy, David and Clara Bordeau of
Zephyr Hills, Fla., Brian and Pamela Bordeau of West Chazy, Andrew and Judith Bordeau, of
West Chazy; Wendell's mother-in-law, Doris LaDuke of West Chazy, several nieces and

Bernice M. Simpson
WHALLONSBURGH Bernice M. Simpson, 93, died
at the Horace Nye Home In Elizabethtown, Tuesday December 28, 1999.
She was born in North Elba, June 2, 1906, the
only daughter of James A. and Susan (Taylor) Stalker. Mrs. Simpson was a graduate of
Albany Business College, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Iroquois Chapter # 562,
a member of the Grange # 954, a member of the Home Bureau, a 4-H leader and a member of
the Whallonsburgh Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara
Baughn and her husband Robert of Peru, Susanne Lloyd and her husband Bruce of Dryden, and
Carol E. Gustas of Amsterdam, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also
survive her. Her parents, her husband, Wesley and five brothers, Jesse Oscar, Mark, Allyn,
and Henry, predeceased herCalling hours will be held at the Huestis Funeral Home in
Willsboro, Thursday, December 30, 1999 from 12-2 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the
funeral home immediately following. Calling hours at 2 p.m. with Reverend Sorley
officiating. Burial will follow in the New Burt Cemetery in Whallonsburg. In lieu of
flowers the family has requested that donations in her memory be made to charity of
choice.
John A. Mead
MANHATTAN John A. Mead of Manhattan and
formerly Plattsburgh, passed away on Monday, December 6, 1999, at age 59, after a long,
courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 2, 1940, in Plattsburgh, he was the
son of Gideon Reynolds Mead and Alice Peterson Mead.
John attended Plattsbugh City Schools and
graduated from Dannemora High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army in from 1958 to
1961. After his employment as a Research Chemist for Eastman Kodak of Rochester, John went
on to establish his own publishing service in New York City. He was an avid reader and
enjoyed solving mathematics problems, and playing chess, cards, and board games. John also
loved horseracing and was especially fond of summer days spent at Saratoga. His wit, sense
of humor, and smile provided comfort to all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years,
Geraldine A. "Geri" Klepacki Mead, of Manhattan, whom he married in 1970,
brothers, Walter D. Mead of Greenville, S.C., George T. Mead of Wellington, Fla, and
Thomas R. Mead of Lowell Mass; sisters, Alice Shover of Albuquerque N.M., Gertrude Infante
of Watervliet and Grace Mead of Socorro, N.M. and 19 nieces and nephews, I I great-nieces
and great-nephews, and one great-great niece.

Theresa E. Rockhill
BRUSHTON Theresa E. Rockhill, 76 of
Brushton passed away unexpectedly at her home in Brushton Wednesday, December 29, 1999.
Born July 9, 1923 in Malone, she was the daughter
of the late Oliver and Emma Lamica Reyome.
She was a homemaker and for many years she was
employed by Shields Slipper Factory in Bombay. She was a member of the First Christian
Church in Brushton. Theresa enjoyed sewing and needle work.
On November 26, 1941 she was united in marriage
to Luman H. Rockhill at St, Joseph's Church in Bombay. He predeceased her on September 2,
1988. Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Luman and Barbara Rockhill
of Watertown, Gary and Sharon Rockhill of Peru, Bruce Rockhill and fiancee Jackie Hooker
of Malone, and Darrel and Lynn Rockhill of Constable; two daughters and one son-in-law,
Wanda and Daniel Klebes of Philidelphia, Pa. and Connie Rockhill and companion Tracy Spann
of Savannah, Ga; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, many nieces and
nephews. One brother, Jack Reyome of So. Bombay; one sister, Gertrude Marshall of
Gloversville.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Raymond in
Infancy, Edgar, Floyd, Carl and Leon Reyome, three sisters, Neola in infancy, Gladys
McCune, Vivian McCune and Bernice Leduc.

Brushton Thursday December 30, 1999 from 2-4 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11
a.m. Friday December 31, 1999 at the First Christian Church in Brushton with the Rev.

Benoit J. Chisholm
Morrisonville Benoit J. Chisholm, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999 at the Cedar
Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.
He was born in Rumford, Maine on Oct. 2, 1916, the son of Michael and Mary Ellen
(Barnard) Chiasson.
He served in the U.S. Army in Normandy during World War Il and was employed by Local
186 in Plattsburgh as a construction worker for many years. He was a member of American
Legion Post 1619 of West Plattsburgh and V.F.W. Post 125 in Plattsburgh. He was a member
of St. Alexander's Church. He is survived by three sons, David Chisholm of Chicago, Ill.;
Michael Chisholm of Delanson; Robert Chisholm of Saranac; three brothers, Bernard
"Babe" Chiasson of Connecticut, Edgar Chiasson of Arkansas, Robert Chiasson of
Mexico, Maine; two sisters, Theresa Lablanc of Derby, Conn.; Dorothy Dorian of Daytona,
Fla.; two stepdaughters, Nancy Rock and Judy Fisher; five grandchildren, Robert, John,
Michael, Travis and Felicity; nine step-grandchildren; nine great-step-grandchildren,
Corey Steilgleman, Kenny Todd, Christopher Derocher, Kyle Rabideau, Terri and Joel
Christian, Robert, Ronald and Michael Rock and several nieces and nephews.
Several brothers and sisters died earlier. A grandaughter, Heidi Chisholm, died in
1996. A step-son, Raymond Deroeber, and a step-granddaughter, Cheryl, also died earlier.
Calling hours were held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Neill - Redden -
Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m.
Tuesday from St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Rev. Stephen Gratto was the
celebrant. The organist was Maryanne Lawless. The pall bearers were David, Michael, Robert
and Travis Chisholm, Brent and Bruce Derocher. Military honors were accorded by American
Legion Post 1619. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
Adam R. Palmer
ALBANY Adam R. Palmer, 87, of Teresian House, died there Saturday after a short
illness.
Born in Plattsburgh, Mr. Palmer moved to Whitehall at the age of six and attended the
Whitehall school system. He graduated from Green Mountain Junior College, St. Lawrence
University and Cornell Law School.
Mr. Palmer was first elected and first re-elected democratic Mayor in Tupper Lake and
also served as village attorney and town attorney. He tried many lawsuits in the state
supreme court, the county court and the court of appeals and argued appeals in the
appellate division of the supreme court and federal courts. Mr. Palmer was a candidate for
Supreme Court Justice, Fourth Judicial District in 1960.
He was a past director and part owner of Oval Wood Dish Inc. in Tupper Lake and served
as a director of the chamber of commerce, the Ogdensburg Catholic Lawyers Guild, Mercy
General Hospital in Tupper Lake and the Tupper Lake National Bank. He was chairman of the
St. Alphonsus Church Parish Council, the "Save Sunmount" Committee and the Mercy
General Hospital financial drives.
Mr. Palmer was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, post commander of the
American Legion and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Franklin County.
He also was a member of the Franklin County and New York State Bar Associations and the
American Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Palmer served during World War II in the ordinance department in the Asia-Pacific
area and was discharged as a captain in 1946. His wife of 50 years Madeline Scott Palmer,
died in 1994.
Survivors include two sons, William Palmer of Canandaigua and Lawrence Palmer of
Binghamton; and three grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church Of the
Immaculate Conception, Route 50, Glenville. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery,
Tupper Lake, in the Spring. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the
Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd, East Glenville and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home, 24 Cliff Ave., Tupper Lake.

Thomas J. Dunne
Plattsburgh Mr. Thomas J. Dunne, 67, of the Calkins Road in Peru, died Friday
Dec. 24, 1999 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Dublin, Ireland on
Feb. 23, 1932 son of the late Thomas and Annie (Ryan) Dunne.
He graduated from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland before immigrating to Canada in
1957. He moved to Plattsburgh in 1979. Above all, he was a dedicated husband, father, and
grandfather. He was also a valued friend to many in the area. He was an avid bird watcher
and reader. Thomas worked for Abbott, Frenyea, Russell & Coffey, CPA in Plattsburgh
for many years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Anne Richardson, whom he married in Montreal,
Canada in 1959, a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Robert Keene of Colorado Springs,
Colo.; a sister, Dr. Bridget Collins of Dublin, Ireland, and two grandchildren, Robert
Wayne Keene and Chelsea Dawn Keene both of Colorado Springs, Colo.
He is predeceased by a sister, Nan Jarrett.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday Dec. 30, 1999
at 2 p.m. from St. John's Church in Plattsburgh.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Adirondack Humane
Society.
Mary Lou Brunelle
ROUSES POINT Mary Lou Brunelle, 48, died Friday Dec. 24, 1999 at the CVPH
Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Potsdam on Jan. 19, 1951, the daughter of Walter S. and Ruth (O'Neill)
Lawrence.
After graduating from Canton ATC in 1971, Mary Lou was hired by Allied Coop as the
first woman milk inspector in New York State. She married Bill Brunelle on Aug. 18, 1973.
She belonged to the New York State Magistrate Association and in March 1997 she was the
first woman judge of Rouses Point. She was employed by Wyeth Ayerst Laboratories in Rouses
Point as a Q.A. Analyst.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. William Brunelle of Rouses Point; her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Lawrence of Canton; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. Scott Lawrence
and his wife, Kim, of Tucson, Ariz.; Mr. Brian Lawrence and his wife, Debbie, of Canton;

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Wednesday Dec. 29, 1999 at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point at 11 a.m. Burial will
follow in the Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to your local SPCA or to the
Rouses Point Fire and Rescue Squad.

Irene Bezio
Peru Irene Bezio, 93, of Hallock Hill Rd., died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at the
Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh following a brief illness.
She was born in Harkness, Nov. 11, 1906, the daughter of Peter and Adeline (Courcelle)
Martin.
Irene was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville. She was a former
member of the Keeseville Drop-In-Center, Keeseville Senior Citizens Club, and the AuSable
Valley Grange.
During her life she enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, and playing bingo.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Maurice and Sandra Bezio of
Keeseville; and Warren and Gloria Bezio of Peru; one sister-in-law, Nina Martin of Garden
City, Ga.; five grandchildren, David and Wendy Bezio of Plattsburgh; Shirley and Timothy
Ashline of Keeseville; James Bezio of Peru; Jeffrey and Brenda Bezio of Keeseville; and
Alan Bezio of Peru; seven great-grandchildren, Jason and Kimberly Bezio, Jody and Samantha
Ashline, Cassandra and Jesse Bezio, and Kayla Bezio; and several nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Bezio, Nov. 3, 1987; two brothers, Leonard
and Damase Martin; and two sisters, Leah (Martin) Adams, and Pauline (Martin) Duffany.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral
Home in Keeseville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at
St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville, with Monsignor Joseph Aubin, pastor,
celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Keeseville Rescue Squad, the Senior Drop-In-Center, or
masses to be said in her memory.
Philomena Montagnola Calabrese
Witherbee Philomena Montagnola Calabrese, 81, of Witherbee passed away at her
home on Dec. 26, 1999. She was born Feb. 7, 1918 at Port Henry, the daughter of Alfred and
Margaret (Veliucci) Montagnola.
She is survived by her daughters, Josephine Tom of Port Henry, Evelyn Goodspeed of
South Kortright, Grace Benfield and Margaret Vernum of Mt. Ulla, NC; her sons, Charles
Calabrese of Witherbee; Joseph Calabrese of Germany; and James Calabrese of New Hyde Park;
her sisters, Mary Seadale and Josephine Fields of Florida; Louise Celotti and Anna Brace
of Port Henry; and her brother, Stephen Montagnola of Port Henry. She also leaves behind
22 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frand Calabrese in 1999; her son, Frank Calabrese,
Her brothers, Joseph and Ambrose Montagnola and her sister, Christine Gonyo.
Through out her life she was an active member in the Catholic Daughters and later in
life, the Mineville VFW Auxillary, and the Moriah Senior Citizens.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Church of All Saints,
Mineville, Father Michael Toth officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery
in the spring.

Madeleine C. Millet, 88, formerly of the
Allen Road, Plattsburgh, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare
Facility. She was born on Oct. 30, 1911 in St. Jean, Quebec, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Moreau.
There will be no public services. Burial will
take place at a later date in St. Mary's of the Lake Cemetery on Cumberland Head. The R.W.
Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Grace B. Hourihan, 82, of Church St.,
North Lawrence, died Dec. 25, 1999 at the Community Nursing Home in Potsdam. She was born
May 12, 1917 in North Lawrence to John and Catherine Arquiet Burke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Dec. 29, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Lawrence Church. Calling hours will be on Tuesday,
Dec. 28, 1999 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a wake service at 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral
Home. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery in the spring.

72, of the Brinton Rd.,
Keeseville, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital in
Elizabethtown.
He was born in St. Sylvestre,
Canada, June 3, 1927, the son of Rosaire and Yvonne (Drouin) Dion.
He married the former Margaret T.
Ouellette, Aug. 14, 1948 in Quebec
He was a member of the
International Brotherhood of Carpenters for 40 years and worked for 22 years for Theodore
Stay and Sons of Plattsburgh. He was a past former member of the Keeseville BOPE #2072.
He enjoyed gardening and music.
Survivor include his wife,
Margaret T. Dion of Keeseville; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Doris and Donald
Sullivan of Port Douglas, Lynn and Jeff Solomon of Alturas, California and Christine
Dion-Gonzales and Phil of Truckee, California; four sons and three daughters-in-law,
Michael and Linda Dion of Sandy Creek, Danny and Jessica Dion of Keeseville, Rocky Dion of
Keeseville, and Steven and Susan Dion of Auger Lake; several grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; six sisters, Rita and Andre Huppe of Quebec,
Fernande Caux of Drummondville, Florence and Raymond Fontaine of Lawrence, Massachusetts,
Gisele Vachon of Quebec, Cecile and Robert Moffat of Peru, and Rachel Dion of Quebec; and
one brother, Louis Dion of Plattsburgh.
Two sisters, Lucille Perreault
and Jeannine; and two brothers, Andre Dion and Claude Dion, predeceased him.

of the Keeseville Fire Department will meet at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Following
cremation, burial will be in the Port Douglas Cemetery.

21, 1999. She was born in Champlain NY. Daughter of Edward and Delia (Thibault) Dupont.
She also had a stepmother, Dora Mae Peryea. She married Rufus L. Deyo Sr. on November 28,
1932 at St. Peter's Church and lived in Beekmantown NY. Through their union, they have
four sons and one daughter: Leo, Lawrence, Ernest, Rufus (Joe) Deyo Jr. and Anna Mae
(Deyo) Dubuque, all residing in Plattsburgh, NY. She worked at Fishman's Dept. Store,
Grant's Dept. Store and started a family business with her husband Rufus for Rufus Jr.She
was a member of the Beekman Grange 941 P. of H. She was a leader in the 4-5th degree team.
She was a member of the Plattsburgh Garden Club. She had many friends and was loved by
all. She has many grandchildren, great-grand children and great-great grandchildren,
several nieces and nephews.In her memory, donations can be made to St. Mary's of the Lake
Memorial Fund,Cumberland Head Church.Funeral services were held at R.W. Walker Funeral
Home, December 24, 1999, and burial followed at St. Peter's Cemetery. Paul Bearers were

Clarence L. Hebert
78, of South Peru Street, died
Thursday Dccemher 23, 1999 at the CVPH Medical Ccnter.
He was horn in East Hampton, MA
on April 7, 1921 the son of Pliny and Rhoda (Peryer) Hebert. Mr. Hebert married the former
Margaret LaPier at St. Peters Church on August 29, 1942 in Plattsburgh.
Mr. Hebert served in the Army Air
Corps as Bombardier in China- Burma Theatre of WWII, flying fifty seven missions.
He was a member of Our Lady of
Victory Church. He belonged to the OLV Athletic Association and was formerly a member of
the Funtimersl Square Dance Club. Mr. Hebert liked camping and traveling.
Mr. Hebert worked as a masonry
foreman for the Departrment of Public Works in Plattsburgh, retiring in 1983 with
thirty-three years of service.
Survivors include his wife
Margaret of Plattshurgh, six sons and two daughters-in-law, Lawrence Hebert of New
Britain, CT, Michael Hebert of Manchester, CT, Dale Hebert of Santa Monica, CA, Scott
Hebert of Plattsburgh, Robert and Carol Hebert of Utica, NY and Carat and Carolyn Hebert
of Marble Head, MA; three daughters and one son--in-law, Joanne Hebert of Danbury, CT,
Linda LaPoint of Plattsburgh and Brenda and Dan LaPoint of Plattsburgh; two brothers and
two sisters-in--law, Richard and Terry Hebert of Beekmantown and Donald and Betty Hebert
of Warner, NY; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pearl Webber of Plattsburgh and Dorothy
and Curtis Banker of Schuyler Falls, NY; five grandchildren, Dina LaPoint, Debra Roberts,
Lisa LaPoint, Keith Hebert and AmandaHebert and many nieces and nephews.
One brother, Armand Hebert, died
earlier.

Willsboro, NY
Carl R. Garvey,
75, died Thursday December 23,
1999 at CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Willsboro, NY October 26, 1924, the son of
Craig E. and Margaret Ellen (Wood) Garvey. Carl served two years in the US Navy Seabees
during World War II in the Pacific area.
He had several real estate
developments including Buena Vista Park, Caroga Park, Lake Ozonia and Port Kent Loyola
Villa. He owned a telephone pole business, Willsboro Wood Products, and founded North
Country Spring Water, Inc.
He served as the chairman of then
Administrative Board of the Willsboro United Methodist Church, Chairman of the Willsboro
Republican Committee, and Willsboro Industrial Development Committee during the period
that two large companies, Leader Sports and Tambrands located in Willsboro.
Carl had a great love and
knowledge of the Adirondack lakes and forests. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, and
cultivated a black walnut tree grove. In retirement he enjoyed traveling, in his RV,
through Canada, the United States and Mexico ultimately spending the winters in Florida.
He was proud of his Irish heritage and his ties to Prince Edward Island, Canada.
He is survived by his wife of 52
years, Lucille (Wrigley) Garvey, a daughter and her husband, Debra and Ross Frisbie of
Westport, 2 sons and their wives Gregg and Robin Garvey of Keystone Heights, Fl and Bryan
and Mary Garvey of Essex, NY, grandchildren Ian and Julianne Frisbie, Lindsay and Joshua
Garvey, Justin and Kristin Garvey, and April Dawn, John and April Ann Wilson, his in-laws
Marie and Alton Wrisley of Reber and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also
survived by a sister and her husband Hazel and Barton Ryder of Yucaipa, CA and Willsboro,
a sister Rita Benedict of Willsboro, and a brother Wendell L. Garvey of Riverview, Fl.
His parents and 2 sisters,
Florence Singleton and Ruth Ryan predeceased him.
Calling hours will be held Sunday
December 26, 1999 from 2-4 p.m. at the Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro. Funeral Services
will be held Monday December 27, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Willsboro United Methodist Church
with burial following in the Reber Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that
memorials be given in his memory to the World War II Memorial Fund.
