Beatrice A. O'Connell

PLATTSBURGH -- Beatrice A. O'Connell, 76, of Woodland Drive, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2006, at her home.

She was born in Champlain on Nov. 5, 1929, daughter of the late Frank and Athella (Tousignant) Ashline.

Beatrice attended D'Youville Academy. She had been employed by Edwards Linen Shop and Fountain and Lucas. Beatrice was a member of St. Peter's parish in Plattsburgh. She was an avid bingo player; she enjoyed knitting, bowling, shopping and word search. Beatrice was a former member of the American Legion Post 20 Auxiliary.

Beatrice is survived by her husband of 58 years, George P. "Butch" O'Connell of Plattsburgh; four children, Timothy and Peggy O'Connell of Peru, Paul and Susan O'Connell of Plattsburgh, Judy Lynn O'Connell of Tupper Lake, Carol McFalls of Plattsburgh; five grandchildren, Christopher O'Connell and his wife Jill of Rochester, Kelli Brannock and her husband Steve of Boston, Kacey O'Connell of Albany, Marissa McFalls and her fiancé Robert Patrick of Albany, Lindsay O'Connell of Plattsburgh; a great-grandson, Timmy Brannock; a brother, Kenneth Ashline and his wife Ginny of Oneida; and several nieces and nephews.

Beatrice was predeceased by five brothers, Alexis, Floyd, George, Joseph and David Ashline; three sisters, Mae Despaw, Margaret Young, Jeanette Gruwell; two infant brothers; and her son-in-law, Stephan McFalls.

Calling hours will be Friday, May 12, 2006, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 10 a.m. from St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Donations in Beatrice's name may be made to Hospice of the North Country.

Helen M. "Pee Wee" Vaughan

PLATTSBURGH -- Helen M. "Pee Wee" Vaughan, 75, of Lakeview Towers, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2006, at her home. She was born on Dec. 9, 1930, daughter of the late Jed and Julia Benway.

Helen was a very active bingo player. She enjoyed traveling to visit families and country western concerts.

Helen is survived by seven children, Linda and Wayne Seymour of Plattsburgh, Donna and Gary Shreve of Plattsburgh, Bonnie and Vinnie Avery of Fruitland Park, Fla., Thomas and Debbie Vaughan of Plattsburgh, Ricky Vaughan of Plattsburgh, Melody St. Louis and her fiancé Brian Reynolds of Plattsburgh, Tammie and Doug Kramer of Girard, Ohio; a granddaughter, Melissa Vaughan of Plattsburgh; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including Merilda Gumlaw, who was raised as Helen's sister.

Helen was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Simpson; and her parents.

Calling hours will be Saturday, May 13, 2006, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 3 p.m. from Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

LOUELLA G. FLEURY, 82, of 6199 Green Meadow Drive, Conway, S.C., and formerly of Burke, N.Y., died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at the McLeod Hospital in Florence, S.C., a patient there since May 9.

She was born in North Burke, N.Y., Feb. 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Nelson and Georgianna (Rouselle) Mainville.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. George's Church in Burke. Burial will be in St. George's Cemetery.

LAURA M. POSTIGLIONE, 79, of Plattsburgh, died May 11, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 11, 1926, to Hasle and Effie (Smith) Ranson.

MAURICE COULOMBE, 87, of Champlain, died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center.

There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at St. Mary's Church in Champlain.

Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.

GERALD W. BURNELL, 80, formerly of Peru, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.

He was born in West Chazy, N.Y., on Dec. 10, 1925, the son of William and Lena Burnell.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time with the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

ROBERT ROSENBERG, 59, of Vale Haven Home for Adults in Peru, N.Y., and formerly of Fort Edward, N.Y., died May 9, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1946, in Manhattan, the son of the late Murray and Marion (Openheim) Rosenberg.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 13, at 1 p.m. at the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 82 Broadway, Fort Edward, with the Rev. Regina Haag, pastor of the Adirondack Friends Meeting, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Fort Edward. Condolences may be sent to www.kilmers.com

ROLLAND THIBODEAU, 89, formerly of Plattsburgh, died Jan. 13, 2006, in Gainesville, Ga., his home for the past few years.

A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh on Saturday, May 13, at 1 p.m. A reception will follow at the church meeting hall.
