Evelyn V. FinneyVERO BEACH, Fla. -- Evelyn V. "Dai" Finney, 80, of Treadwells Bay, Plattsburgh and Vero Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, in Vero Beach, Fla. She was born in Ballston Spa, Nov. 20, 1925, the daughter of William and Mary VanBuren. She was a 1943, graduate of Ballston High. Her education continued at Plattsburgh State University where she graduated in 1947 with a B.A. in home economics. Dai was a supervisor at the Clinton County Department of Social Services, and was co-owner with her husband of Finney's Freezer in South Plattsburgh for many years. She was a member of the Peru Community Church and the Community Church-United Church of Christ, Vero Beach. She was an avid golfer and played golf with her husband throughout their retirement. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play basketball and spending time at their home on Lake Champlain. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, William W. IV and Judy Finney of Arlington, Va., Robert V. and Karen Finney of Fort Pierce, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Cathy and Christie Finney; one great-grandson, Patrick Ahern; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 57 years, William W. Finney III, Friday, April 8, 2005; one sister, Alma; and brothers, William and Frank. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A funeral service will be held Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. at the Peru Community Church. Burial will follow in the Peru Cemetery, Inc. HallNORTH HUDSON -- Rose E. Hall, 74, a resident of North Hudson passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006, after a long illness. Born on Feb. 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John and Lena Meyers of Chilson Hill. Rose Loved to crochet and loved to go shopping at the Dollar Store. She was grandmother to everyone who knew her. Rose loved her cats and her dog Jesse. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Harold (Buzzer) Hall; one son, James Hall; and two brothers, John and Richard Meyers. Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Thompson and her husband Steve of North Hudson; one grandson, Keneth Thompson of North Hudson; two granddaughters, Jeana Hall and Jamie Hall of Port Henry; and her extended family, Cha, Peanut, Sarah, Emmett, April, Jeremy and Eric. Family and friends may call Saturday, May 13, 2006, at the Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home Schroon Lake from 10 a.m. to time of service. Nicholas LaPorteCHAZY -- Nicholas LaPorte, eldest child of Michel and Debra LaPorte of Chazy, N.Y., died Monday, May 8, 2006, at CVPH. He had just completed his 14th birthday and had celebrated with the family's annual trip to visit his grandparents in Florida. Nicholas was born on April 6,1992, in Burlington, Vt. Nicholas attended Chazy Central Rural School during his elementary years, and would have finished his second year at Seton Catholic in June. He played soccer, football, hockey and tennis. He was full of life, loved his family and always had a smile or friendly word. He will be greatly missed by his parents and siblings, Cailee and Noah; his grandparents, Merrill and Andree LaPorte; his aunt and uncle, Dennie and Joy LaPorte; his paternal great-grandmother, Jeanette Birtz; his classmates and friends at both Chazy and Seton; and many other family and friends. Nicholas chose to live each day with a zeal for life. His kind heart and playful spirit were the inspiration of his enthusiastic yearning for each day's offering, and the love that he shared with those close to him. Though his years on this earth were short, his spirit will grace each day with the rising sun and his love will be a beacon of hope and light on even the darkest of nights. Mary Helen ErcolaniAUSABLE FORKS -- Mary Helen Ercolani, 91, of Murcray Lane, AuSable Forks, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at home under the care of High Peaks Hospice. Mary was born Jan. 21, 1915, and lived most of her life in Plains, Pa. She was the daughter of Cazimer and Mary Paul Allen Sheskaitis. Mary lived in Plains, Pa., until 1998, when she moved to Somerset, N.J., and then to AuSable Forks, N.Y., with her son, J. Bruce and daughter-in-law, Mary E. Ercolani. Mary was a 1933 graduate of Plains Memorial High School. She was employed by the Wilks-Barre General Hospital and the Plains Blouse Co. She was also a member of the St. Peters Pauls Church in Plains, Pa. Mary was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Santi; also brothers and sisters, Victor Allen, Dominick Allen, Joseph Allen, John Sheskaitis, Anna Jonika, Julia F. Allen and Margaret Rocconi. Mary is survived by her sons, J. Bruce and his wife Mary E. Ercolani, David B. Ercolani Sr.; two grandchildren, David B. Ercolani and Tracy Ercolani and; several nieces and nephews. Boire, 83, of Rt. 9, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born on August 7, 1922, in Champlain, N.Y., the daughter Sidney and Flora (Dubour) Rider. Evelyn was a graduate of Chazy Central School class of 1942. She Married Louis Boire on July 27, 1942, in Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Louis died Sept. 29, 2000. Louis and Evelyn were the owners and operators of Boire's Florist Inc. in Chazy for 32 years. Evelyn had previously worked at Montgomery Wards in Plattsburgh. She was a communicate of Sacred Heart Church, a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters. Evelyn was a former member and past officer of the Grange. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara and her husband Robert Clark of St. Albans, Vt. and Diana Boire and Alan Adorisio of Essex Jct., Vt.; one son, Steven and his wife, Ellen Boire of Chazy; five grandchildren, Timothy and his wife Lina Clark, Brian and his wife Lisa Clark, Randal and his wife Stacey Clark, Casey Boire and Corey Boire; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers-in-law and seven sisters-in-law, Marcel and Joyce Boire of Altona, Madeline and Donald Favreau of Chazy, Germaine Giles of Seffner, Fla., Gabriel and Marie Borie of Westboro, Mass., Arthur and Jeanne Boire of Point au Roche, Theresa Boire of Chazy and Rose Mary Boire of Beekmantown; several nieces and nephews. Rabideau, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid, N.Y., where she had been a resident since 2001. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., May 19, 1923, the daughter of Richard and Ellen (LaPlant) Andrews. She had lived in Morrisonville, N.Y., for 51 years before moving to The Greenwood Apartments, in Lake Placid. Mrs. Rabideau had worked in Plattsburgh as a baker at National Biscuit Co. for several years. She is survived by her son, Edward Rabideau of Paul Smiths, N.Y., six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville, N.Y., Rev. Joseph Elliott will officiate. The family suggests donations in her memory be made to Uihlein Mercy Center, 185 Old Military Road, Lake Placid, NY 12946. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.

Friday, May 12, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 13, from 2 to 4
and 7 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Saturday at the
funeral home with Father Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Cremation will
follow with burial in St. John's Cemetery, Lake Clear.
