Mary Jane Bushey

REDFORD -- Mary Jane Bushey, 60, formerly of Church Street, Redford, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Malone, Jan. 16, 1946, the daughter of Leslie Edward and Bernadette Mildred (Bombard) Woods.

Mary Jane was employed at Mercy General Hospital in Tupper Lake and later at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother, Bernadette M. Woods of Syracuse; one son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Anna Bushey of Saranac; two daughters and one son-in-law, Michele Bushey of Morrisonville and Lori and Dale Wood of Saranac; five grandchildren, Amanda and Kasha Bushey and Dereck, Keagan and Kaylyn Wood; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ann Tessier of Syracuse and Lena and Tom Maroun of Tupper Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father; and husband, Gary E. Bushey, March 5, 1984.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Redford with Rev. Francis J. Coryer, pastor, celebrating, and Rev. Philip T. Allen, concelebrating. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery in Dickinson Center.

Donations in Mary Jane's memory may be made to the Saranac Rescue Squad.

Robert R. Garrant

PLATTSBURGH -- Robert R. Garrant, 73, of South Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at his home, under the care of Hospice and his loving wife, Josephine.

He was born in Plattsburgh on May 24, 1932, son of the late Napoleon and Mary (Bressett) Garrant.

Robert was a member of Our Lady of Victory Parish in Plattsburgh. He had attended Our Lady of Victory Academy in Plattsburgh. He had been employed by Champlain Valley Hospital and Imperial Mill. He was a City of Plattsburgh fire fighter, retiring in 1978 after 20 years of service. Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 13127 of Our Lady of Victory Church. He was a very active volunteer with friends, family and church. Robert was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Robert is survived by his wife, Josephine (LeClair) Garrant of Plattsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Napoleon "Buddy" Garrant Jr.; and two sisters, Mary Mooney and Lena (King) Cochran.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 5, 2006, at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Arrangements with Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
