Philip S. DooreyBRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Philip S. Doorey, age 60, of Bridgeport, Conn., beloved husband of Sandra "Sandy" (Stranius) Doorey, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at his home after a courageous, hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., he had been a Bridgeport resident since 1973. Phil retired after 37 years of employment with IBM and had formerly worked for the Bridgeport Ambulance Service. In the past, being an EMT and CPR instructor were his vocations. He enjoyed time spent with friends and family at his hunting camp in Loon Lake, N.Y., and Cape Cod, where he and Sandy had planned to retire. In addition to his wife, Phil is survived by two sisters, Judy Doorey of Plymouth, Mass., and Patricia Williams of Jericho, Vt.; a brother, Martin Doorey of Binghamton, N.Y.; and 14 nieces and nephews; also many dear friends Phil considered family. He was predeceased by three brothers, Michael, David and Thomas Doorey; and a sister, Susan Doorey. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. with family and friends meeting directly at St. Margaret's Shrine, 2539 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Sunday, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Deaths
BARBARA J. GILLERY, 71, of the Peasleeville Road, Schuyler
Falls, died unexpectedly Friday, April 21, 2006, at the CVPH Medical
Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Lyndonville, Vt., March 22, 1935, the daughter of
Everett and Edith (Sunidge) Bailey.
There will be no public calling hours or services. Burial will be held
at a later date in the Strawberry Hill Cemetery in Twin Mountain, N.H.
Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.
HOWARD A. LABOMBARD, 41, of Ellenburg Depot, died Thursday,
April 20, 2006.
He was born in Malone on Aug. 18, 1964, the son of Austin and Cecilia (LaClair)
LaBombard.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the E.F. Drown
Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated at a time to be announced from St. Patrick's Church in
Chateaugay.
