Lucile Lloyd Lawrence

KEENE -- Lucile Lloyd Lawrence, 89, of 3040 Route 73, Keene, N.Y., died Friday, April 7, 2006.

She was born in Chicago, Ill., May 14, 1916, the daughter of Henry C. and Anna (Daly) Lloyd.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Kim Lawrence of Keene; and four grandchildren, Guy Lawrence of Northfield, Minn., Kimberly Cormier of Dalton, Miss., Alison Lawrence of Lake Placid and Helen Lawrence of Keene, N.Y.

She was predeceased by her husband, Percival Lawrence; and two infant children.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 11, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., with the funeral immediately following at 2:30 p.m. at W.M. Marvin's Sons in Elizabethtown.

Donations may be made to the Keene Methodist Church or the Keene Fire Department Ambulance Squad.

Dorothy Ellen "Donni" Way

PERU -- Dorothy Ellen "Donni" Way, 86, residing with her daughter Teresa of Pleasant Street, Peru and formerly of Route 22, Plattsburgh, died Friday, April 7, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Keene, Feb. 29, 1920, the daughter of Leslie Danes and Teresa (Bryant) LaMoy. Dorothy was raised by her loving aunt "Em" and Uncle Heman Nye, first living in Keene prior to moving to Keeseville, where she graduated school in 1938. She was active in the Keeseville Methodist Church having been the youngest member of the Second Mile Bible class where she served as secretary at that time. She helped with many bazaars, church dinners, was a religious education class teacher and sang in the choir. She was pianist for the Independent Baptist Church of Keeseville for many years. She later became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she remained active as Sunday school teacher, Activities Committee organizer and pianist until ill health, at the age of 85, prevented her from playing. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking. She entered many of the Press-Republican "Bake Offs" where she received certificates, plaques and recognition for her cooking abilities. She was an avid reader and kept a "keen" mind until her death. She had a wonderful wit and many times would come up with fun games of mental challenge. She especially enjoyed family gatherings for games, picnics and sing-a-longs, where she played her beloved piano. She was also active as a Boy Scouts leader, volunteer and loving Mother. Donni married William Watson Way, Aug. 17, 1941. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage while raising their seven children, prior to his passing March 23, 1999.

Survivors include her loving sister, Wilma Woodard of Rutland, Vt.; her seven children and their spouses, Douglas and Mary Anne Way of Damascus, Md., Donna Hicks and companion Robert Runyan of Plattsburgh, Kelista and Robert Knurek of Glens Falls, Mary and Walter Somody of Plattsburgh, Teresa Hicks of Peru, Sheila and A. Steven Mack of Peru, William Watson Way Jr. and wife Dana of California City, Calif.; 29 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Lois LaMoy Lomax.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A celebration of her life will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Plattsburgh, with branch President Robert A. Judd presiding. Burial will follow in the Port Douglas Cemetery in Keeseville.

Donations in Donni's memory may be made to the Peru Rescue Squad.

Capt. Timothy J. Moshier

FT. HOOD, Texas -- Capt. Timothy J. Moshier, formerly of Delmar, N.Y., died in Yusufiyah, Iraq, on April 1, 2006, while conducting a combat air patrol mission. He was 25 years old. Tim was born on April 17, 1980, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, N.Y., and brought joy to everyone who knew him. An open-hearted friend who always shared the concern of others, Tim's devotion to God, family and country was the essence of his life. A great storyteller with an infectious smile, he loved and incorporated humor into his journey. Tim loved to read and enjoyed sports and adventure. He was committed to excellence, especially through the concept of "teamwork" and worked at all things with a deep sense of gratitude and humility. He was a 1998 graduate of Bethlehem Central High School and a 2002 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering.

Capt. Moshier was stationed at Ft. Rucker, Ala., from 2002-2004. While there, he attended flight school and became a licensed aviator in the AH-64D, Apache Longbow helicopter. In 2004, Capt. Moshier was assigned to 1st Squadron, 6th Cavalry, at Fort Hood, Texas, where he served as a platoon leader. In December 2005, he deployed to Iraq with 4th Battalion (Attack), 4th Aviation Regiment as the Assistant S3. He served in this position until the time of his death.

Captain Moshier is survived by and will always be a part of, his wife, Katie (McKee) Moshier and daughter Natalie, both of Killeen, Texas; his parents, Jim and Mary Ellen Moshier of Delmar, N.Y.; his sister, Lauren and her husband Devin Anderson of Albany, N.Y.; and his grandmother, Frances Moshier of Scotia, N.Y. He was the beloved son-in-law of Peter and Lynne McKee and brother-in-law of Ali McKee, all of Delmar. In addition, Tim leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, family and friends whom he loved deeply and who will miss him in ways that words cannot describe.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, N.Y. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial with full military honors will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethlehem Central Endowment Fund, 90 Adams Place, Delmar, NY 12054 c/o Timothy J. Moshier Memorial Fund. This fund will be used for a scholarship in Tim's name for students excelling in science and technology. In addition, another fund is being established in Natalie's name.

Deaths

CLIFFORD OWEN DECKER, 96, formerly of Hague, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

He was born April 20, 1909, in Hague, N.Y.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place Wednesday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga. The Rev. Marjorie Floor will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga.

EDWIDGE E. "EDDY" BRUNET, 94, of Elm Street, Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center.
