Selma J. (Manor) Fordham

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. -- Selma J. (Manor) Fordham, 90, of Newburyport, died early Monday morning, April 3, 2006, at Anna Jaques Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Harmon E. Fordham, who died Jan. 5, 2005.

Born in West Plattsburgh, N.Y., July 29, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Mary (Smart) Manor.

Mrs. Fordham worked in the housekeeping department of the Anna Jaques Hospital.

She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church as well as a member of the Newburyport Golden Agers.

Her survivors include her two sons, Thomas R. Fordham and wife Mary J. (Matthews) of Newburyport and James A. Fordham of Hagerstown, Md.; her two daughters, Dale M. Hines and husband Clarence Reynolds Hines III of Clarkson, Mich., and Donna M. McIntyre and husband E. Michael McIntyre of Hendersonville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Leona O'Connell of Cadyville, N.Y., Beatrice Brown of Cadyville, N.Y., Hazel Brunelle of New Haven, Conn., and Ruth Swasey of Chandler, Ariz.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Manor; and a sister, Virginia Manor.

Funeral service from Elliott Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green St., Newburyport will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Green Street, Newburyport. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green St., Newburyport, MA 01950.

Donald E. Roushia

PLATTSBURGH -- Mr. Donald E. Roushia, 72, of the Irish Settlement Road, Plattsburgh passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Feb. 2, 1934, the son of Joseph and Leona (Barassa) Roushia.

Donald was a former highway superintendent for the Town of Plattsburgh and later he worked for Carter Trucking. He enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle and going to the casino.

Donald was predeceased by his father, Joseph Roushia; a half brother, Maynard Roushia; and a half sister, Marion Simpson.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice (Trombly) Roushia of Plattsburgh; one son, Jay Roushia and his wife Sherrie of Altona; four daughters, Holly Stefaniak and her husband Fran of Keeseville, Crystal Provost and her husband Gary of Dannemora, Cindy Stewart and husband Tim of Plattsburgh and Kellie Simmons and her husband K.C. of Peru; his mother, Leona (Roushia) Mitchell of Plattsburgh; one brother, William Roushia and his wife Gail of Plattsburgh; three sisters, Gladys Martin of Plattsburgh, Lillian Shelters and her husband Ted of Plattsburgh and Jean Garrant and her husband Donald of Saratoga; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 an d 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Treadwells Mills. Interment will follow at St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center, Hospice of the North Country or Masses.

Jessica Elizabeth LaPage

MALONE -- Jessica Elizabeth LaPage, stillborn infant of William W. and Danielle Deragon LaPage Sr., was pronounced dead Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center.

Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother, Lawrence W. LaPage Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Linda and Ronald Deragon; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Darleen LaPage; maternal great-grandfather, Leon LaFleur, all of Malone, N.Y.

Burial took place in St. John Bosco Cemetery with the Rev. Martin Cline officiating. Funeral arrangements were through St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home, Inc.

Thomas G. Provost

SCHENECTADY -- Thomas G. Provost, 50, died Monday, April 3, 2006, in Ellis Hospital after a brief illness.

Tom was a self-employed carpenter and woodworker in and around Schenectady. He was a 1973 graduate of Schalmont High School.

Tom was the son of Malcolm J. Provost and the late Doris Provost of Scotch Ridge Road in Rotterdam.

He is survived by two step-children, Becky and Brett Gordon; seven siblings, Malcolm R. Provost, Jim Provost, Cheri Palumbo and Carol Gregg, all of Schcnectady, Mark Provost of Waterford and Ken Provost and Tim Provost of Saratoga Springs; and 18 nieces and nephews.

Tom was predeceased by five siblings, Loxie, Jeannie, Michael, Daniel and William.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church on Bradt Street in Schenectady on Thursday, April 6, 2006, at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru.

Ursula Myers

ALBANY -- Ursula Myers of Albany, formerly of Plattsburgh, N.Y., died on March 18, 2006, at ViIla Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, with her loving family at her bedside.

Ursula Henriette Alwine Marquardt was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Lubeck, Germany, the daughter of Wilhelm Theobald Julius Marquardt and Henriette Dorothea Elise Bode Marquardt. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Hamburg, where Ursula spent her youth. Following high school, she completed four years of training and began her career as a laboratory technologist.

She was married in Germany and moved to Plattsburgh in 1949 with her husband, Harry J. Myers. Ursula resumed working in her chosen field in Plattsburgh at Physicians Hospital and retired as supervisor of the Hematology Department at CVPH Medical Center after 33 years. Ursula was a devoted and loving mother. She endeared herself to everyone with her kindness and beautiful smile. She enjoyed the company of many dear friends while taking long walks, gardening, attending classical music concerts, operas and museums and traveling throughout Europe. After her retirement, she became a docent at Plattsburgh State University Art Museum and as a member of Champlain Valley Quilters Guild, she stitched many beautiful quilts for family and friends with the uniqueness of each recipient in mind.

Ursula was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Hannelore Marquardt Buck, of Hamburg, Germany.

Survivors include children, Nancy Myers (Laurence Pardi) of Altamont, Carol Myers Schaffer of Slingerlands, Thomas Myers of Cohoes, Joseph Myers of Stephentown and Elise (Robert) Biernacki of Glenmont; grandchildren Kirstan Conley of New York City, Travis Myers of Saratoga Springs, Kyle and Joseph Myers Jr., of Stephentown, Courtney, Robert and Sophie Biernacki of Glenmont; goddaughter Sarah Van Leeuwen; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends; in Germany, Hans Buck, brother-in-law; Gabriele Buck Wagner (Peter), niece; Sophie Buck, great-niece; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at noon, May 20, 2006, at St. John's Catholic Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Anna O. Carlson

ELLENBURG CENTER -- Anna O. Carlson, 82, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born on Sept. 12, 1923, in Dalarna, Sweden, the daughter of Karl and Margareta Osterburg.

Anna came to this country at the age of two. She married Fordyce I. Carlson on Aug. 4, 1956.

She worked as a secretary for various firms in Burlington and Montpelier, Vt. She also worked with her husband, the owner and operator of Ellenburg Oil Co., Inc.

She was a member of the Mt. Hermon Chapter of the Eastern Star and also a member of the United Methodist Church of Ellenburg.

She is survived by her three daughters, Ingrid and David Patterson of Omaha, Neb., Martha and Patrick Chase of Standish and JoAnna Bein of Ellenburg Center.

Her husband died before her on Feb. 14, 2003.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Ellenburg Center at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

The E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot is in charge of the arrangements.

BLANCHE ELIZABETH GILPIN, 92, formerly of Pine Street, Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Uihlein Mercy Center Nursing Home in Lake Placid.

She was born in Onchiota, N.Y., on Dec. 23, 1913, the daughter of Dominic and Mary (Gendron) Patnode.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, April 7, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A bible vigil service will take place at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard's Church, with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

MARIAN E. DONAH, born in Peru, N.Y., on March 23, 1921, died March 29, 2006, at Wedgewood Center in Lakeland, Fla.

There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are being made by Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, N.Y. A graveside service will be held later this spring.

ELIZABETH L. NORTH, 105, of Church Street, Tupper Lake, N.Y., died Monday, April 3, 2006, at the Mercy Health Care Facility in Tupper Lake, N.Y.

She was born in Malone, Aug. 22, 1900, the daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda LaPrad Loffier.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

BLANCHE A. PELOW, 85, of Elizabeth Street, St. Regis Falls, N.Y., died Monday, April 3, 2006, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home in Malone, N.Y.

She was born in Derrick, N.Y., April 25, 1920, the daughter of the late Julius and Virginia Barcomb Susice.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls, with the Rev. Alfred Fish officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Hopkinton, N.Y.

BERNARD R. CAMPBELL, 81, of Burlington, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 30, 2006, at his home following a brief illness.

He was born on Campbell Road in Clinton, N.Y., on March 12, 1925, the son of the late James and Mary (Young) Campbell.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, April 3 at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church with interment following in Resurrection Park Cemetery, South Burlington.

There were no visiting hours. Arrangements are in the care of the Ready Funeral and Cremation Service, North Chapel, 934 North Ave.
