Barbara B. (Benedict) Ashley PERU -- Barbara B. (Benedict) Ashley, 70, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Lake Placid, the youngest daughter of Chauncey H. and Ruth Clara (Pratt) Benedict. Barbara had a master's degree in social work from Fordham University and worked as a licensed social worker for many years. Recently, she was also a caregiver employed by Home Instead Health Care. Barbara was a beloved mother and grandmother, known for her great compassion, kindness and loving acceptance. She enjoyed traveling, collecting rocks and gems, learning about anything and everything and was a lover of all God's creatures. The warmth of her spirit endures through her survivors: Cheryl and Russell Brendel of Alaska, Jeffrey S. and Sandra L. Ashley of Wilmington, Susan G. Polster and fiance Dan Gallo of Peru, and Catherine A. Ashley of Colorado; her grandchildren, Russell P. and Cari E. Brendel, Jeffrey D., Victoria A., Rebekah G., Rachael M. and Elisabeth J. Ashley and James P. Polster; a former husband, Clifford H. Ashley; a brother and sister, Chauncey R. Benedict and Mildred M. Hamilton. She is predeceased by siblings Donald, Robert, Clyde, Helen and Dorothy. At the family's request, there will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 30, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid, followed by a reception at Adirondack Community Church. Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at the CVPH medical Center in Plattsburgh.

EVA B. ANDERSSON, 90, formerly of Upper Jay, died March 23,
2006, in Cuyahoga, Ohio. Services will be in the spring in Mountain View
Cemetery in Upper Jay. Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of
funeral arrangements, which are incomplete at this time.
