Lucille M. Jabaut

SARANAC LAKE/PLATTSBURGH -- Lucille M. Jabaut, age 93, formerly of Neil Street, Saranac Lake, died Friday, March 10, 2006, at Meadow Brook Health Care in Plattsburgh.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y., on Sept. 1, 1912, she was the daughter of Lina and Rozalia (Barker) Beecher.

Mrs. Jabaut married Francis E. Jabaut of May 20, 1960, in Maryland. He died April 18, 1991.

Mrs. Jabaut had been a resident of Teaneck, N.J., for many years before moving to Saranac Lake in 1976. While in Teaneck she had been the office manager for Dr. M.K. Griffel retiring in 1976.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Margaret Wells of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Barbara Femia of Albany; and many nieces and nephews including, Marceline Kavanagh of Plattsburgh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; her father, Lina Beecher; and her mother, Rozalia Barker Beecher.

Graveside services will be held in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Saranac Lake, in May.

Friends wishing to remember Lucille may make memorial contributions to Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.

Nathaniel John Chilbert

MOOERS -- Nathaniel John Chilbert, one month and 27 days old, was taken into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington.

He was born on Jan. 17, 2006, in Nashville, Tenn., son of Joseph A. and Trista (Welch) Chilbert.

Nathaniel was born with many physical disabilities, he was loved and supported by his family during his short time with them. He was a beautiful baby with a good natured personality and sparkling blue eyes.

Nathaniel is survived by his parents, Joseph and Trista Chilbert of Mooers; a brother, Nicholas Chilbert four and a half; and a sister, Isabella Chilbert two and a half; paternal grandfather, Anthony Chilbert of Bath; maternal grandparents, Donald and Linda Welch of Syracuse; maternal great-grandmothers, Frances Casscles of Syracuse and Margaret Bishop of Thendara, two uncles and an aunt, Michael and Christie Chilbert of Savona and Colby Welch of Syracuse; two cousins, Dakota Chilbert and Dominick Chilbert.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 14, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at 10 a.m. from the Bible Baptist Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be later in the year in Riverside Cemetery in Mooers.

Special thanks to the North Country Community for their love and support, especially for the benefit held for Nathaniel in January.

Dorothy Giroux

FRUITLAND PARK, FLA. -- Dorothy Giroux, 81, of Fruitland Park, Fla., and formerly from Plattsburgh, N.Y., died March 7, 2006.

She was predeceased by her husband and one brother.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and William Whitney; brothers, Joseph Toussaint, Ralph Tusa of Fruitland Park, Fla., and Fred and Helen Tusa of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Flo Tusa; one grandchild; and two great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, Fla. A funeral service was held on Monday at St. Paul's Church in Leesburg, Fla. Burial will be in the spring at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Phyllis D. Dickinson

ELIZABETHTOWN -- Phyllis D. Dickinson, 77, of 1 Twin Brooks Road, Lincoln Pond, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

She was born Oct. 8, 1928, in Kingston, N.Y., the daughter of Benjamin W. and Nina (Weeks) Dixon.

Phyllis was employed for a time at the Horace Nye Home in Elizabethtown and was a member of the Elizabethtown Fire Department Auxiliary. She always spoke fondly of her days as a den mother for the Cub Scouts.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joan and Stephen Muller of Elizabethtown, Margorie and Bruce Garcia of Keeseville, David Dickinson and Trish Crandall of Elizabethtown, Richard and Mary Beth Dickinson of Hoosick Falls; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Shirley Hoffart of Mukilteo, Wash., and Regina and Greg Leytem of Philomath, Ore.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Donald Dickinson.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, A funeral Mass will be conducted by Monsignor Peter Rianni Thursday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's in Elizabethtown. Burial will take place in the church cemetery in the spring.

Rachel Batchelder

CROWN POINT, NY -- Rachel Batchelder, 80, of Crown Point, N.Y., died Monday, March 13, 2006, at Heritage Commons Nursing Home in Ticonderoga, N.Y.

She was born June 22, 1925, in Bath, N.Y., the daughter of Wesley and Mary (Gay) Murray.

She married Albert Batchelder June 7, 1947.

Rachel went to college at SUNY Fredonia, majoring in music education. She graduated in 1947. She lived in Lansing, N.Y., from 1949 to 1958. She taught in the Lansing school district until 1958. She then resided in Clinton, N.Y., from 1958 to 1974. She taught in the New Hartford system and was an active member of the Clinton United Methodist Church. She taught in Haverhill, Mass., from 1974 until retiring in 1984. In 1985, she moved to Crown Point, N.Y. She served as church organist and choir director at Mt. Moriah Presbyterian Church in Port Henry until 2005. Her community activities include Literacy Volunteers, United Methodist Women and Champlain Valley Chorale.

She is survived by her son, Eric L. Batchelder of Phoenix, Ariz.,; her daughter, Jeris and her husband Dale French of Crown Point; three grandsons, Eric R. Batchelder, Matthew Batchelder and Andrew Batchelder; two great-grandsons, Calvin and Alec Arno and their father Alan Arno.

She is predeceased by her husband, Albert Batchelder; and her granddaughters, Rebecca French Arno and Shana French.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at the Mount Moriah Presbyterian Church in Port Henry. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations in Rachel's name may be made to the Crown Point Methodist Church or to the Mount Moriah Presbyterian Church, Port Henry, NY.

HARRY J. GRANGER, 78, of West Street, Witherbee, N.Y., died March 2, 2006, at Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga, N.Y.

He was born June 5, 1927, in Glens Falls, N.Y., the son of Luther and Fannie (Waite) Granger.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be at a date to be announced.

RICHARD A. LETOURNEAU, 86, of Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh, died on Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.

He was born on March 6, 1920, in Burlington, Vt., son of Elmin and Celia Letourneau.

A graveside will be held later in the year in Ingraham Cemetery.
