Alida R. Ducharme

PLATTSBURGH " Alida R. Ducharme, 87, of Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by her family following a three month illness.

She was born in Alburg, Vt. on May 21, 1918, the daughter of Aldie and Eliza (Proulx) Landry.

She worked during World War II in Bristol, Conn. repairing aircraft with the ladies group known as "Rosie the Rivetter." She also was employed at Eastman Kodak in Rochester and later for Champlain College. She enjoyed writing and was an avid mall walker where she enjoyed having breakfast with her friends. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, the parish choir, the Secular Order of the Franciscans and was an avid pro-life supporter. She was also a member of the North Country Squares and the North Country Chapter for the Visually impaired.

She is survived by two sons, Danny and Jimmy Ducharme, both of Plattsburgh; two daughter, Sandra Ducharme, Lisa Ducharme-Rivers and husband Keith all of Plattsburgh; a sister, Marie Bertrand of Enfield, Conn.; five grandchildren, Corey, Cody, Kyle, Ashley and Katrina; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Harold F. Ducharme died on Feb. 13, 1998. Five brothers, Danny, Oliver, Jerry, Roger and Albert Landry; and six sisters, Florie Tetreault, Alice Perrea, Rosie Johnson, Dora, Fedinoud and Florida Landry also died earlier.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.

Rosemary Jane Daniels

TICONDEROGA " Rosemary Jane Daniels, 47, of Ticonderoga, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at her residence.

Born in Ticonderoga, Feb. 9, 1959, she was the daughter of Alfred D. Rovelli Sr. of Ticonderoga and the late Mildred Anna (Priest) Rovelli.

Mrs. Daniels has been a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga and Port Henry. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga.

She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Daniels.

Survivors in addition to her father, Alfred D. Rovelli Sr. of Ticonderoga, include her five children; one brother, Alfred D. Rovelli Jr. of Maine; three sisters, Paula A. Buckman of Ticonderoga, Diane M. Henry of Ticonderoga, Angela M. Rovelli of Mooers, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor, will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will take place at the family plot of St. Mary's Parish Cemetery of Ticonderoga at a later date.

Loretta G. Gursky

WITHERBEE " Loretta G. Gursky, 82, of Wasson Street, Witherbee, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Elizabethtown Community Hospital, Elizabethtown, N.Y.

She was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the daughter of Earnest and Josephine (Ducatte) Brown. She married Stanley Gursky on Dec. 26, 1951.

Loretta was an accomplished homemaker and active community volunteer, organizations include Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad, Veterans Foreign War Ladies Auxiliary and Mineville\Witherbee Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Gursky of Atlanta, Ga., and Curtis Gursky; her sisters, Laura Norton of Port Henry, Sr. Ann Mildred Brown of Newburgh, N.Y., Gladys Champagne of North Port Fla., Theresa (Mrs. Bernard) Bola of Saranac Lake, N.Y., and Ramona (Mrs. Earl) Macey of Beekmantown, N.Y.; her brother, Clifford Brown of Crown Point, N.Y.; her sister-in-law, Mary Forkas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

She is predeceased by her husband, Stanley; her sister, Lillian Golden; her brothers, Jeffrey, Morris, Donald and Harold Brown.

Calling hours will be held Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, March 10, 2006, 10 a.m. at the church of All Saints in Mineville. Spring burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Moriah.

Gladys O'Connor

CHATEAUGAY " Gladys O'Connor, passed away peacefully at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y., with two of her sons at her bedside.

Gladys Theresa McCormick was born in Chateaugay, N.Y., on Feb. 28, 1912, the fifth of six children born to John and Mary (Minnie McCallum) McCormick.

She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy, Malone in 1929, and from Plattsburgh State in 1932. She was an elementary teacher at Chateaugay Central, Malone Central and various rural schools in Franklin County.

She married Fred O'Connor, a local dairy farmer on Aug. 17, 1936, in St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay on her mother's birthday. Fred predeceased her on Dec. 21, 1979.

She is survived by 10 sons; two daughters; nine daughters-in-law; and two sons-in-law, John, Jerry and Gail, Patrick, Robert and Elaine, Michael and Dolores all of Chateaugay, Douglas and Ann of Forestville, Conn., Paul and Barbara of Garner, N.C., Charles and Julie of Peru, N.Y., Kevin and Mart of Batavia, Ill., Clark O'Connor of Jacksonville, Fla., Jean (O'Connor) and Joseph Lavaroni of Seaford, N.Y., and June (O'Connor) and Roger Jesmain of Syracuse, N.Y.; two daughters-in-law, Mary Lou O'Connor of Kettering, Ohio, and Carol O'Connor of Jacksonville, Fla.

She is also survived by 24 grandsons, John, Fred, Jim, Dylan, Terry, Casey, Sean, Dan, Chris, Matt, Patrick, Michael, Sheridan, Sedrick, Warren, Bryan, David, Kelly, Kyle, Reilly and Cory O'Connor, Joseph and Stephen lavaroni and Connor Jesmain; and 20 granddaughters, Kimberly, Erin, Jennifer, Heather, Caroline, Meagan, Sacha, Brigid, Britney, Mollie, Morgan and Savanna O'Connor, Laura Mills, Mary Therese Bader, Tracy Morrison, Kelly Maikowski, Kara Pitti, Courtney Fischer, Bethany Mathis and Lyndsay Jesmain.

She is also survived by 22 great-grandsons; 14 great- granddaughters; her sister, Anne Vaincourt; a sister-in-law, Isabelle McCormick; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Gladys was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Eileen (a Grey Nun); her three brothers, Charles, Edmund, and Peter; two sisters-in-law, Leona and Florence; and one grandson, Timothy O'Connor.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Rosary Society of St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay, where she was also a communicant.

Over the weekend of Feb. 24, all 12 of her children were present to help her celebrate her 94, birthday. She was known and loved by many. She will be remembered for her tremendous faith in God, her belief that prayer can conquer anything, her stance on protecting the unborn, her wonderful friendship with those that had the good fortune to know her and a family well bless by her love. Thinking of her, one can only have good memories.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday, March 10, from 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, at St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay with the Rev. John Demo officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery in the spring.

FRANKLIN B. WARREN, 84, of the Duquette Road, Beekmantown, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Burlington, Vt., on May 8, 1921, the son of Franklin and Leah (Brein) Warren.

Calling hours and funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Altona.

ELSIE M. CLARK, 87, of the Franklin County Nursing Home died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at that facility.

Born Oct. 30, 1918, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of John F. and Mary Stewart Whittal.

There will be no calling hours.

Spring interment will be in the Huntingdon Protestant Cemetery, Huntingdon, Quebec.
