Elva Jean WrightCROWN POINT -- Elva Jean (Mamie) Wright, 91, of Crown Point, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2006, at Moses Ludington Nursing Home in Ticonderoga, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Walter and Erdie Allen on July 13, 1914, at the family homestead on White Church Road. She was the youngest of eight children. She attended the Knights Hill District School and graduated from Sherman Academy in Moriah. She married Harold S. Wright on Nov. 10, 1938. Ellva will best be remembered for her strong will, for her cooking, especially her "famous baked beans," for her sense of humor and for her loving care of friends and family. She was a longtime member of the White Church Association and was the oldest member of the United Methodist Church in Crown Point, as well as a member of the Ethan Allen Grange and the Knapp Senior Citizen Club. Elva is survived by her daughter, Joan and husband William Hunsdon; her son, Steve and wife Alice Wright; grandchildren, Leila and husband Jeff Burris, Jim and wife Ada Hunsdon, Adam Wright and fiancÃe Danielle Rabideau, Sara Wright and Alex Wright; great-grandchildren, Peter, Chris and Kerry Burris, Nichole, Kyle, Kelsey and Kara Hunsdon and Dakota Wright; sister-in-law, Dorothy Allen, all of Crown Point and grandson-in-law, Wayne Ells of Florida. Elva was predeceased by her parents; husband, Harold; infant son, John; her granddaughter, Laurie (Hunsdon) Ells; her brothers, Adelbert, Albert, Edgar and Earl; and her sisters, Alice, Edith and infant Ida. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 11, 2006, 11 a.m. at the White Church on White Church Road in Crown Point with a luncheon to follow at the Knapp Senior Center. Donations in Elva's memory may be made to High Peaks Hospice in Port Henry, or to Moses Ludington Nursing Home in Ticonderoga.

OLIVE M. PAQUIN, 87, of the Wingate at Ulster Nursing Home and formerly of Mt. View, N.Y., died Monday, March 6, 2006, at that facility. Born Aug. 14, 1918, in Mt. View, N.Y., she was the daughter of Napoleon and Ella Barcomb Lapier. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 11, 2006, at 10 a.m. in St. Helen's Church, Chasm Falls, N.Y. Spring burial will take place in St. Helen's Cemetery. CARDIN, 62, of Mooers Forks, died Monday, March 6, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Cerank in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the spring in St. Mary's Cemetery in Champlain.
