Luther L. Riley

LEWIS -- Luther L. Riley, 62, of Lewis, N.Y., died Friday, March 3, 2006, in Plattsburgh, N.Y. He was born April 5, 1943, the son of Leon and Irene Riley Lavigne (Monico.)

Mr. Riley graduated from Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School and after two years of college enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served from 1965 to 1969. He worked for Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut for many years before moving back to Lewis.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Tim Yu and grandson Tian Yu of Plantsville, Conn.; his mother, Irene Lavigne of Lewis; two aunts, Theresa Hovey of Peru, N.Y., and Mildred Mason of Lewis; and an uncle, William Wade of Peru.

He was predeceased by his father, Leon Riley; a sister, Hilda May Riley; his maternal grandparents, Nick and Harriet Monico; and a favorite uncle, Arto Monaco.

Calling hours will be held Monday, March 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Marvin's Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 7, at 11 a.m. from St. Elizabeth's Church in Elizabethtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Alphadge E. "Al" Rouleau

TROY, N.Y. -- Alphadge E. "Al" Rouleau, 80, of Dunham Street, beloved husband of over 57 years of Eva (LaBarge) Rouleau of Troy, entered into eternal life at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy on Saturday, March 4, 2006.

Born on Nov. 20, 1925, in Plattsburgh, he was the son of the late Edward and Emma (Corron) Rouleau and was a graduate of St. Peter's School and Mt. Assumption Institute, both in Plattsburgh.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and earned the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Mr. Rouleau retired as a Heat Treater Supervisor from the Watervliet Arsenal where he had been employed for over 32 years and still found the time to be a dedicated husband and father. He had also been employed by the Tri-City Valleycats.

He was a communicant, former trustee and bingo chairman of St. William's Church in Troy as well as a former member of the Watervliet Elks.

Beloved husband of Eva; devoted father of Sue E. (J. Michael) Mullahey of Brunswick and Stephen E. (Lynn) Rouleau of Troy; brother of the late Aural Rouleau; cherished grandfather of J. Michael Mullahey Jr. of Brunswick, Nicole Rouleau of Troy, Eric Rouleau of Watervliet and the late Mandy L. Mullahey; loving great-grandfather of Zachary and Anthony Mullahey and his adored "peanut," Marrisah Mullahey, all of Troy; also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home (Corner of Fourth Avenue and 115th Street), Lansingburgh, thence to Our Lady of Angels Chapel at Siena College in Loudonville, where at 10 a.m. the Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Interment with military honors will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.

Andrew G. Coss Jr.

PLATTSBURGH -- Andrew G. Coss Jr., 73, of Michaele Avenue, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at his residence.

He was born in Andes, N.Y., on Oct. 26, 1932, the son of Andrew G. and Louise (Ingram) Coss Sr.

Andrew married the former Frances M. Miller in 1957 at the Old Base Chapel on the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base. Frances died in 2002.

During his younger years, Andrew worked as a farm hand until joining the U.S. Air Force in 1956. He retired in 1976 as a staff sergeant, after 20 years of service. He then worked as a butcher at the Plattsburgh Air Force Base Commissary from 1976 until his retiring due to illness in 1995.

Andrew enjoyed many things in life, including hunting, fishing and bingo.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard L. and Diane Coss of Ellenburg Depot and Wayne J. and Michele Coss of Plattsburgh; two daughters, Cheryl Coss of Plattsburgh and Melody Coss of Peru; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harold and Peggy Coss of Kansas City, Mo., and Douglas Coss of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.

Burial will take place in the spring in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Care of the North Country.

Ralph Leonard Adams

JAY -- Ralph Leonard Adams, 83, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on March 3, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born April 9, 1922, in Wilmington, N.Y., the son of George and Anna (LaBombard) Adams.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II (1942-1945) in Panama, France and Germany. He married his wife, Alice (McDonald) Adams, in 1942 in Jay, N.Y. He worked for Ward Lumber, JJ Rogers Company, AuSabIe Dairy and BayView Dairy in Plattsburgh and after his retirement, he worked part time for the U.S. Post Office in Jay. He enjoyed bowling at Riverside Lanes and playing horseshoes behind Art's Village Inn.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice Adams of Jay; two sons and daughters-in-law, two daughters and one son-in-law, Ralph and Arlie Adams of Jay, N.Y., Eric and Elaine Adams of Newfield, N.Y., Leona Crowningshield of Keene, N.Y. and Madeline and Gary Senecal of Keeseville, N.Y. He was the much adored and admired grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who were blessed by being part of his life. Everywhere he went, he captured the hearts of those near him with his smile. He will be sadly missed by his family and all those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his life.

He is predeceased by his parents; and five brothers and one sister, Gerald, Lloyd, Fred, Donald, Nobel and Irene Sprague.

At the family's request there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

WILLIAM (BILL) J. PERRY, 72, of Malone, died March 2, 2006, due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He was born in Malone on Oct. 29, 1933, the eldest son of Joseph and Marjorie (Marshall) Perry.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church. Spring burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lake Titus Road.
