Isabel E. YoungPERU -- Isabel E. Young, 100, formerly of Route 22, Peru, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh. She was born in Peru, Nov. 9, 1905, the daughter of William H. and Mary Covel. Mrs. Young grew up in Peru and was a graduate of Peru School. She and her husband owned and operated Young's Vegetable Stand in Peru for many years. She was also employed at the Peru Post Office and later at Northern Orchard Co. in Peru for many years. She was the oldest living member of the Peru Community Church and was also a member of the Ladies Guild. She was known to many in the North Country as "Gram." Survivors include her three grandchildren, Angela Vines of Michigan and Wendell "Chipper" Young and Casey Young, both of Schuylerville; two great-nieces, Marian (Morse) Peters of Peru and Amy (Morse) LaForest, both of Peru; two great-nephews, Roy "Rick" Morse of Peru and Michael Morse of Plattsburgh; and several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wendell "Jack" Young; two sons, Wendell and Roy Young; her sister, Cora Denton; and two brothers, Roy and William Covel. At Mrs. Young's request, there will be no public calling hours. Burial will be held in the spring in God's Acre Cemetery in Peru. Donations in Isabel's memory may be made to the Peru Community Church or the Peru Rescue Squad. Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. James (Dick) SantoAUSABLE FORKS -- James (Dick) Santo, 70, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born July 29, 1935 in AuSable Forks, the son of Richard James and Carrie (Heberts) Santo. He was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks, a past member of the AuSable Forks Volunteer Fire Department on the inactive list, a member of the Valley-pine hunting club and a director of the Fern Lake Association. He retired from Pepsi Cola in Keeseville. He was a avid hunter and fisherman who loved his boating in the summer at Fern Lake, where he resided at 18 Santo Lane. He married his wife, Nancy (Kasting) Santo, on June 29, 1974, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Black Brook, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Santo; one sister, Barbara Rhino of AuSable Forks; and several nieces and nephews, Randy Rhino, Kim and her husband Dave Hart, Susan and her husband Ricky Nolan, Dick Rhino, Susan Rodgers, Gretchen Foster, the Rev. Robert Kasting and Karen Kasting; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and one sister, Sylvia Rhino. Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 20, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks. Memorials may be made to the AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service. Thibodeau, 88, of Sailly Avenue, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at the home of her son, Marcel Thibodeau, in West Chazy. She was born in Ferme Neuve in Quebec, Canada, on April 18, 1917, the daughter of Jose and Josephine (Chalifou) Laurin. Rose was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and wife. She married Harvey H. Thibodeau in St. Jean, Quebec, on Aug. 10, 1942. He predeceased her on Nov. 26, 2002. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Marcel and Donna Thibodeau of West Chazy, Rejean "Ray" and Joy Thibodeau of Beekmantown and Michael and Candy Thibodeau of Champlain; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Claudette Favreau of Plattsburgh, Francine and Donald Gagnier of Beekmantown and Huguette and Donald LaValley of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; one brother, Jean Laurin of Mount Laurier, Quebec; five sisters, Pamela Dore of Mount Laurier, Quebec, Simone Thomas of Mount Laurier, Quebec, Victoria Papineau of Mount Laurier, Quebec, Marion Seguin of Montreal, Quebec, and Gertrude Landry of Clifton Park, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Entombment will follow at the Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on the Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Care of the North Country. Harvey R. SpoorNORWOOD, N.Y. -- Funeral services for 92-year-old Harvey R. Spoor, of 1542 River Rd., Norwood, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the E.F. Drown Funeral Home in Ellenburg Depot, N.Y., with Deacon John Levison presiding. Entombment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot. Friends may call at the E.F. Drown Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Arrangements are with the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. He was born in Ellenburg Depot on March 24, 1913, the son of Bryon and Mary (Willett) Spoor. He married Harriet Magoon on Nov. 30, 1940. She died on Jan. 16, 1999. He was employed at Alcoa Operations in Massena for 32 years, retiring in 1975. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Carolyn) Lippolis, Floral City, Fla., Mrs. Ken (Beverly) Wilson, Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, and Mrs. Jeff (Susan) Richards, Norwood, N.Y.; one son, Allan and Joeanne Spoor of Millers Tavern, Va.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Beaulah Covey of Madison, N.Y.; three sisters-in-law, Lena Spoor of Tupper Lake, N.Y., Kathryn Latta of Slingerland, N.Y., and Rosalie Magoon of Saranac, N.Y. He was predeceased by five sisters, Tillie Dominy, Addie Nichols, Viola Derousia, Flossie Spoor and Dora Spoor; and seven brothers, Asel Spoor, Frank Spoor, Paul Spoor, Charles Spoor, Gib Spoor, Ralph Spoor and Fred Spoor. Donations may be made to the St. Lawrence Valley Hospice & Palliative Care.

ANTHONY "BUTCH" BOUCHER, 55, of Park Street, Tupper
Lake, died unexpectedly at his home on Feb. 17, 2006.

to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Church at 11 a.m.
on Monday. Burial at St. Alphonsus Cemetery will take place in May.
