Michael G. HoughMOOERS FORKS -- Michael G. Hough, 47, of Mooers Forks died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 24, 1958, the son of Dennis and Eugenia (Snide) Hough. He was a school bus driver for the Northeastern Clinton Central School District for many years and was a member of the Mooers Fire Department and Rescue Squad for more than 25 years. He enjoyed country and bluegrass music and loved to jig. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Amanda and Johnnie Herron Blytheville, Ark., and Heather Hough of Cannons Corners; his mother, Eugenia Williams, and her companion, Delor Duquette of Mooers; two brothers, William Hough and companion Cynthia Boulerice of Cannons Corners and Jason Williams of Mooers Forks; two sisters, Carolyn LaValley of Cannons Corners and Dorothy Clark of Mooers Forks; his grandchildren, Bayle and Mikayla; and several nieces and nephews. His father, Dennis Hough, died in 1969. His paternal grandparents, George and Delinda Hough; maternal grandparents, Wilfred and Dorothy Snide; an uncle Robert Hough; a niece, April LaValley; and a nephew, Danny LaValley, also died earlier. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Mooers Fire Department or Mooers Rescue Squad. Elinor M. KolffALTONA -- Elinor M. Kolff, 70, of Plattsburgh died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh. She was born in Mineola, N.Y., on Aug. 1, 1925, the daughter of Lambert L.C. and Mildred (Burkhart) Kolff Van Oosterwyk. She was employed by Champlain Valley Industries in Plattsburgh for several years and enjoyed painting and crossword puzzles. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Theodore and Ellen Kolff Van Oosterwyk of Altona, and her nieces and nephews, Karen and Paul Poupore of Mooers Forks, Kiera Kolff Van Oosterwyk of Altona, T.J. and Christina Kolff Van Oosterwyk of Bossier City, Ala., Kathy Bell of Maryland, Caroline and Tom Kelly of North Carolina and Hank Kolff of Texas. Two brothers, Roy and Bert Kolff, and a niece, Kirsten Dumas, died earlier. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at noon Sunday from the Mooers United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Plattsburgh or the Mooers United Methodist Church. The E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers is in charge of arrangements.
Deaths
AGNES J. FAIRCHILD, of Bushey Boulevard in Plattsburgh, died
Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home. She was born
in Stamford, Conn. on Nov. 25, 1913 the daughter of Harry and Julia
(Downey) Fairchild.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be at Fairfeld Memorial Park in Stamford, Conn.
Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
MARION M. "MAY" AKEY, 95, formerly of Pike Street in
Plattsburgh died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center. She
was born in Cadyville, N.Y. on Sept. 6, 1910.
Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 20, from 10 to 11:45 a.m. at the
Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at noon at St.
John's Church. Interment will be at a later date at Union Cemetery in West
Plattsburgh.
ISABEL E. YOUNG, 100, formerly of Route 22, Peru died Friday,
Feb. 17, 2006 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh. She was
born in Peru on Nov. 9, 1905, the daughter of William H. and Mary Covel.
At Mrs. Young's request, there will be no calling hours. Burial will be
held in the spring in God's Acre Cemetery, Peru.
Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.
