Delphus J. LaMere Chazy -- Delphus J. LaMere, 70, of Duprey Road, Chazy, went into the hands of the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a courageous battle following a liver transplant. Del was born in Chateaugay Lake on July 7, 1935, son of the late Delphus and Geraldine (LaPointe) LaMere. Del was a 1956 graduate of Lyon Mountain High School. He was involved several years with youth bowling in Plattsburgh and was also a member and officer of the Plattsburgh Men's Bowling Association. Del was a member of the Champlain Knights of Columbus. He was an active member of the Chazy Lions Club, serving as club secretary for several years, he was Zone C-1 Chair of the District 20-W Cabinet of the Lions Club for several years. One of his favorite Lions Club projects was the St. Jude's Bike-a-thon which he organized for several years. Del enjoyed golfing and watching NBA basketball. He worked for several years at LaBarre's IGA, three years at Plattsburgh Distributing and 25 plus years at Ayerst/Wyeth Laboratories. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Chazy, serving on various parish committees and also was an Extraordinary Minister and was currently a Trustee of Sacred Heart Church. Del is survived by his wife, Judy K. (Woodward) LaMere of Chazy; one son, Todd, who was his pride and joy; Also three sisters, Dora Secore of Chateaugay, Lillian Joanette of Bangor and Mary and Lansing Gardner of Lyndonville; two brothers, John and Joyce LaMere of Merrill and Francis and Ethel LaMere of Millerton; a sister-in-law, Sarah LaMere of Plattsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Del enjoyed spending time with his special friends, Judy and Marvin Pombrio, Donald and Irene LaValley and Anne Niles. Del was predeceased by his parents, Delphus and Geraldine LaMere; and a brother, Robert LaMere. Calling hours will be private, for the family only. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Burial will be later in the year in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Chazy. Kyea, 38, of West Sand Lake, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Albany from natural causes. He was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 19, 1968, son of Leonard and Gail (Green) Kyea. Michael was a graduate of Beekmantown Central School. He attended Cortland State University. Michael was a corrections officer for 17 years, currently working at Coxsackie. Michael is survived by four loving daughters, who were the most important thing in his life, Jalyn, Kalli-Sue, Danielle and Emily, all living with him; his mother, Gail Kyea of Plattsburgh; one sister, Suzanne Kyea and Ricky Mahoney of Largo, Fla.; his aunts and uncles, Virginia Wray, Floyd Kyea, Gertrude Klubertanz, Paul and Carolyn Kyea, Marvin and Pam Kyea, Peggy Kyea and Marlene Kyea, James Green and Anne Green; and many cousins. Michael was predeceased by his father, Leonard Kyea; and his younger brother, Jared Kyea. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's of the Lake Church on Cumberland Head. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with the reception at St. Mary's Church Parish Center, Tobin Hall. Donations in Michael's memory may be made to Plattsburgh State Speech and Hearing Center, Plattsburgh State University. Inez A. Putnam Mineville, n.y. -- Inez A. Putnam, 69, of Liberty Street, Mineville, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown, N.Y. She was born Feb. 19, 1937, in Witherbee, N.Y., the daughter of the late Anthony and Nellie (Ponessa) Lavin. Her love for playing the piano and the accordion filled many of her friends and family's hearts with joy. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Putnam-Tansey of Mineville; her son, Thomas Putnam of Plattsburgh; her grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica; her sister, Anita Lahendro of Mineville; her daughter-in-law, Amy Putnam of Plattsburgh; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Gene (Wayne) Putnam; and her sister, Thelma Chapuk. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Church of All Saints in Mineville, N.Y. Spring burial will be in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Bonnie May Riddle Las Vegas, Nev. -- Bonnie May Riddle, 58, died Feb. 8, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born March 9, 1947, the daughter of Millie Baker and the late Edward (Buzz) Smith in Mineville, N.Y. She is survived by her husband, Donnald Riddle; one daughter, Tina Kinser; one son, Frank Riddle, all of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Kyle, Zackary and Jason Kinser and Isabella, Kaitlyn and Alexis Riddle, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Dawn Evans of Milton, Vt.; one brother, Dale Smith of Albany, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Las Vegas. Mary Joyce Ballou Haines City, Fla. -- Mary Joyce Duquette Ballou, 66, of Haines City, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006. She was born Dec. 27, 1939, in Cadyville, N.Y. She moved to Haines City from Light House Point in 1976. Mary was part owner of Paradise Island Campground in Haines City, Fla., and then she owned Camp Mary at Lake Hatchineha for 23 years. She was a member of Haines City and Lake Wales Chamber of Commerce; Goldwing Riders Association; former member of Haines City and Lake Wales Computer Club. She is survived by her husband, Charles Ballou of Haines City, Fla.; sons, Frank Ballou of Malabar, Fla., and Mark Ballou of Loma Linda, Calif.; daughter, Darlene Osborn of Groveland, Fla.; two sisters, Joan O'Connell of Cadyville, N.Y., and Sharon Canale of Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren. Calling hours and funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at the Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, Fla. Janette (Perry) DeLoria,
89, former resident of Lake Placid, N.Y., died Feb. 9, 2006, while at home
with her family.
She was born in Lake Placid, N.Y., Sept. 26, 1916, the daughter of the
late Wallace and Ollie (Goucher) Perry.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be
held with burial in the family plot in North Elba Cemetery on Saturday,
Feb. 18, 2006, Rev. Mark Demers, pastor of the Adirondack Community Church
in Lake Placid, N.Y., will officiate. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake
Placid is in charge of arrangements.
Eleanor M. Dufrane,
82, of North Bangor, N.Y., died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at the Alice Hyde
Medical Center in Malone, N.Y., where she had been admitted earlier in the
day.
She was born in Malone, Feb. 10, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph
and Eva Trombley Shova.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will
be in Notre Dame Cemetery in the spring.
