Clarence M. Bruce

PLATTSBURGH -- Mr. Clarence M. Bruce, 87, of the Military Turnpike, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Feb. 1, 1919, the son of Emery and Deliene (Dapo) Bruce. Clarence was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and he had received the Purple Heart. He was an avid fisherman. Clarence had worked as a mechanic for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.

Clarence was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Kathleen; a son, Clarence Bruce Jr.; two daughters, Bonnie Jean Bruce, Nancy Cecchini; a grandson, Christopher Beshaw; his granddaughters, Sherri and Terri Leist; several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Bruce and his wife Tina of Peru, Donald Bruce of Peru and his fiancé Kathryn Havelka; two daughters, Donna Snider and her husband Gary of Plattsburgh, Connie Beshaw of Plattsburgh; his sister, Myrtle "Peggy" Garrow and her husband Leeward of Peru; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery.

Shirley Pecor

Altona -- Shirley Pecor, 76, of the Alder Bend Road, Altona, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Altona on Jan. 16, 1930, the daughter of Joseph and Leah (Recor) Therrian.

Shirley was known for her loving and giving spirit. She was an unselfish caregiver for her family as well as many others in need. She enjoyed the outdoors, but her life evolved around her home, children, and grandchildren.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents; a son, Howard Pecor Jr.; her grandchildren, Molly and James; a great-grandchild, Cansas; and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by three daughters; Jean Gardner and her husband Paul of Dannemora, Star Peryea and her husband Roland of Altona, Deborah Drake of Altona; two sisters, Beatrice Rabideau of Altona, Genevieve Miller and her husband Hector of Plattsburgh; her former husband, Howard Pecor of Florida; and special friend, Alfred Accornero of Cambridge, N.Y.; ten grandchildren, nine great- children; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Brown Funeral Home, Altona.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be at a later date at Holy Angels Cemetery.

Deaths:

MAURICE A. WHITE, 78, of Mooers, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements were incomplete Wednesday evening at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers.

MICHAEL H. DUMAS, 37, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and formerly of Constable, N.Y., died Monday night, Feb. 6, 2006, after being struck by a car in West Palm Beach.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held in the spring, at a time to be announced, at the Constable Protestant Cemetery.

JOHN G. LACROIX, 55, of San Diego, Calif., and formerly of Trout River, N.Y., died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006 in California after a long battle with bone cancer.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 at Mission De Acala, in San Diego and on the East Coast calling hours will be from 6:30 p.m. at Notre Dame Church, in Malone, until the time of the Mass at 7 p.m.

Burial will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery in Trout River in the Spring.

ETHEL LAPOINT, 74, of Chazy Lake, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements were incomplete Wednesday evening at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot.

IRENE M. DROLLETTE, 83, of Dannemora, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Saranac, N.Y., on June 13, 1922, the daughter of Henry and Eva (Hart) Garsow. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. A full obituary will appear in tomorrow's Press Republican.
