Audrey A. Garrow

PLATTSBURGH -- Audrey A. Garrow, 83, of Bailey Avenue, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Chestertown on Sept. 27, 1922, daughter of the late Albert and Grace Duell.

Audrey was a member of St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and walking.

Audrey is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Theresa Garrow of Plattsburgh and James and Susan Garrow of Peru; two daughters and sons-in-law Evon and Jay Wishall of Derby, Kan. and Linda and Richard Jones of Belville, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, Maria, Robert, Michelle, David, Sarah, Kristie, Heather, Michael, Chris, Shawn, Joshua and Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Ella; and several nieces and nephews.

Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Harold Garrow in 1992; her parents; three sisters and five brothers.

Calling hours were held Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at 11 a.m. from St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.

Burial will be later in the year in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Donations in Audrey's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Alzheimer's or the sixth floor at CVPH Medical Center.

Leland C. LaRose

ZEPHYER HILLS, Fla. -- Leland C. LaRose, 67, of Zephyer Hills, Fla., passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, after a year long battle with cancer.

Born in Solvay, N.Y., on Jan. 10, 1939, he was the proud son of the late Edward and Irene LaRose. He attended Malone schools and graduated from Franklin Academy in 1956. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and retired as a staff sergeant after 31 years of service. He also worked and retired after 25 years as civilian technician for the U.S. Army Reserve.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Lydia; his four daughters and sons-in-law, Lucinda and Peter Bucarria of Long Island, N.Y., Kathy and Michael McMurray of Lutz, Fla., Sandra and David Stone of Whippleville and Lisa and Peter Marshall of Malone; seven grandchildren, Mathew and Katie Lalonde of Canada, Sara, Shauna and Charlie Stone of Whippleville and Mandy and Krista Marshall of Malone; one great-granddaughter Meah of Whippleville; and one stepgreat-granddaughter, Elizabeth of Canada; five sisters, Mrs. Jack (Barbara) Tillinghast of Otter Lake, N.Y., Mrs. Bruce (Claire) Russell of Mountain View, Mrs. Robert (Irene) Carter of Helena, N.Y., Mrs. Rhea Ritchings of Malone and Carolyn of Constable; and one brother, Edward (Joyce) of Constable; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation took place in Zephyer Hills by Hodges Funeral Home and burial will take place in Malone at the convenience of the family. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations many be made to the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Center, Clinton Avenue, Dade City, FL 33525.

Leona "Tootsie" Greene

PORT HENRY -- Leona "Tootsie" Greene, 94, of Port Henry, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at the Heritage Commons Nursing Home in Ticonderoga.

She was born Nov. 7, 1911, in North Hudson, N.Y., the daughter of Frank and Della (Brown) Tracy.

She is survived by her daughter, Pat Provost and her husband Dick of Willsboro; her son, Jim Greene and his wife Carolyn of Watertown, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Vicki and Glen Marra of St. Augustine, Fla., Debbie and Steve Martin of North Bangor, Maine, Joe and Debbie Greene of Watertown, N.Y., Dan and Mary K. Greene of Copenhagen, N.Y., Tim and Barb Greene of Massena, N.Y., Danny James O'Donnell of New Russia and Robert Michael O'Donnell of San Diego, Calif.; she is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Gisel Scalzo of Port Henry.

She is predeceased by her husband, James Greene; and her grandson, Ricky Provost.

Tootsie was loved by all who knew her.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be in the spring at the South Moriah cemetery in Moriah, N.Y.

Isabelle C. Maxwell

PLATTSBURGH -- Isabelle C. "Issy" Maxwell, 82, of Beaumont Street, Plattsburgh, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Rochester on July 18, 1923, daughter of the late William and Stella (Badger) Monty.

Isabelle was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a member of St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Issy was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 20 Auxiliary.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to bingo and the casino with her friends.

Isabelle is survived by her husband of 40 years, Kenneth J. "Maxie" Maxwell of Plattsburgh; two daughters, Carol Chyr and her fiancé Spencer Bosworth of Plattsburgh and Rose Willse of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren, Rikki and Kimberly Willse of Little Rock, Ark., Jessica Willse of Sacramento, Calif., Bruce Willse Jr. of Pensacola, Fla., Kenneth Willse of Plattsburgh, Chantelle and Wade Dobbins of Fort Worth, Texas, Kristy and Tom Sampson of Clayburg and Jason Chyr of Vernon; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Christina Monty of Plattsburgh, Mary Corcoran of Watervilet, N.Y., and Lucille Parsons of Plattsburgh; a brother-in-law and his wife, William and Carol Maxwell of Newburgh; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Kenneth, Floyd and Harold Monty; and three sisters, Geraldine Monty, Doris Fletcher and Geraldine Darrah.

Calling hours are Friday, Jan. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Members of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary will meet Friday evening at 7:30 for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. from St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh. A reception will follow at St. John's Church.

Donations in Isabelle's memory may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Society at CVPH Medical Center.

Deaths:

VIRGINIA (OPPMANN) SULLIVAN, formerly of Water Edge Road, Keeseville and later, Keeseville Country Gardens, died Jan. 26, 2006, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Andrew William and Geraldine (Bromley) Oppmann.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville.

THERESA R. LALONDE, 77, of Averyville Lane, Lake Placid, N.Y., died peacefully at her home on Jan. 25, 2006.

She was born in Lake Placid, N.Y., on March 23, 1928, the daughter of Oscar and Florida (Daoust) Husereau.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A Bible vigil service will be held at the funeral home at 8:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. The Rev. Patrick O'Reilly will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in May.
