Philip G. Morse Jr.

BELLEVIEW, FLA. -- Philip G. Morse Jr., 76, of Belleview, Fla., passed away January 19, 2006, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

Philip moved from Plattsburgh, N.Y., to Fort Myers, Fla., in 1963. In 1989, he moved from Fort Myers, Fla., to Belleview.

He was a retired clerk from the United States Postal Service in Fort Myers, Fla., and owner/operator of L & M Service Station in Plattsburgh, N.Y. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Ocala, Fla.

Philip was a veteran of Korea serving in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Melva Morse of Belleview, Fla.; two sons, Ronald Morse of High Springs, Fla., and Randall Morse of Ocala, Fla.; a sister, Cora Elizabeth "Betty" Soper of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28 at 11 a.m. at Central Christen Church in Ocala, Fla.

Roland E. Stevenson

CROWN POINT, NY -- Roland E. Stevenson, 81, of Crown Point, N.Y., died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at the Community Hospital in Elizabethtown, N.Y.

He was born March 6, 1924, in Westport, N.Y., the son of Willard and Josephine (Miller) Stevenson.

Prior to working as a grade foreman on road construction, he owned and operated a family farm in Westport and worked at Westport Central School. After retirement he enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, taking care of his home and tending to the wildlife and birds.

Roland was a man of few words but very friendly, alert and energetic with a ready smile and willingness to help friends and family.

Roland is survived by his daughters, Beverly Stevenson of Crown Point and Janis Porter and her husband Rodney of Glens Falls, also his son, Larry Stevenson and his wife Rachel of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Todd, Jessica, Janielle, Trevor, Daniel, Jennifer and Will; five great-grandchildren; his sister, Helen Atwell of Westport; and his brother, Raymond Stevenson and his wife Joyce of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a brother, Norman Stevenson of Westport.

Spring burial will be in the Stevenson Cemetery.

A special thanks to Dr. Demuro, the staff of the Elizabethtown Hospital and to High Peaks Hospice. The family suggests donations be made to the High Peaks Hospice in Port Henry.

Arrangements are with the Harland Funeral Home.

Isabelle C. Maxwell

PLATTSBURGH -- Isabelle C. "Issy" Maxwell, 82, of Beaumont Street, Plattsburgh, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Rochester on July 18, 1923, daughter of the late William and Stella (Badger) Monty.

Isabelle was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a member of St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Issy was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 20 Auxiliary.

Isabelle is survived by her husband of 40 years Kenneth J. "Maxie" Maxwell of Plattsburgh; two daughters, Carol Chyr and her fiancé, Spencer Bosworth of Plattsburgh and Rose Willse of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren, Rikki and Kimberly Willse of Little Rock, Ark., Jessica Willse of Sacramento, Calif., Bruce Willse Jr. of Pensacola, Fla., Kenneth Willse of Plattsburgh, Chantelle and Wade Dobbins of Fort Worth, Texas, Kristy and Tom Sampson of Clayburg and Jason Chyr of Vernon; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to BINGO and the casino with her friends.

Calling hours will be Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Members of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary will meet Friday evening at 7:30 for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at 10 a.m. from St. John 's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.

Donations in Isabelle's memory may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Society at CVPH Medical Center.

Donald J. Plummer

PLATTSBURGH -- Donald J. "Bill" Plummer, 75, of Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Rouses Point on July 8, 1930, son of Harry and Mae (Blair) Plummer.

Bill was self employed, affiliated with Bachman Snacks. He was a member of St. James Church in Cadyville. Bill was a foster parent. He enjoyed camping, traveling, bowling and casinos.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy and United States Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 1619 in West Plattsburgh and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 in Plattsburgh.

Bill was a member of the Town of Plattsburgh Democratic Committee.

Bill is survived by his wife, Veronica M. "Bonnie" (Lancto) Plummer of Plattsburgh; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Vicki Kezar of Cadyville, Jeffrey Plummer of Glens Falls and Kevin and Kathy Kezar of Schuyler Falls; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy and Dan McGrath of Glens Falls, Judith Petit of Glens Falls, Karen and Tim Deming of Glens Falls, Donna Jo Plummer of Saranac and Diane Plummer of AuSable Forks; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Fred Tusa of Cumberland Head and Doris and Ralph Alberico of Fort Myers, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral, Park Row in Cadyville. Members of the American Legion Post 1619 and members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 will meet Tuesday evening at 7:30 for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, at 11 a.m. from St. James Church in Cadyville. Burial will follow in Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.

DALE R. GARDNER, 59, of the Shears Road in Malone, and formerly of Plattsburgh, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006. in the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh where he had been a patient since January 13.

Born in Malone on Dec. 9, 1946, he was the son of the late Walter and Charlotte Rousseau Gardner.

Calling hours will be in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone on Saturday, Jan. 28 from noon until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Garvin Demarais, Roman Catholic chaplain, New York State Department of Corrections, officiating.

JEANNETTE CONROY VALDEZ, 93, of Maryland Ave., Saranac Lake, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at Uihlein Mercy Center Nursing Home where she had been a resident since Oct. 6, 2005.

Born in Wilkes Barre, Penn., on March 25, 1912, she was the daughter of James and Jeannette (Wilde) Conroy.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A bible vigil service will take place on Tuesday afternoon. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in May.
