Helen Boyle

PORT HENRY -- Helen "Gram" Boyle, 88, of Port Henry died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.

She was born at East Holden, Maine, on Feb. 20, 1917, the daughter of Jay and Elizabeth (Madden) Gillette.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Deborah Clark and husband Jack of Edwards, N.Y.; her son, Kenneth Boyle and wife Patricia of Saranac Lake; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; also, several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Boyle; her sons, Vale Boyle and Leonard Boyle; her daughters, Phyllis LaMotte and Bonnie Hall.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church in Port Henry with Msgr. John McAvoy officiating.

Spring burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Memorial donations in Helen's memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

Deaths: 01/16/06

SALVATORE BIMONTE, 91, of Main Street, Lake Placid, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

He was born in New Haven, Conn. on Aug. 23, 1914, the son of Michael and Clemantine Bimonte. His wife, Mae (Flintom) Bimonte died earlier.

He was owner and operator of the Cobbler Shop on Main Street in Lake Placid and a veteran of the Army serving in World War II.

Bimonte is survived by three sons, Matthew Bimonte and his wife, Theresa, of Lake Placid; Michael Bimonte of Ray Brook; and Mark Bimonte of Lake Placid; two daughters, Jacqueline Leonard of St. Louis, Mo., and Brenda Nugent of Lake Placid; and six grandchildren.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery in Lake Placid in May.
