Nora Louise GibbsCROWN POINT -- Nora Louise Gibbs, 96, of Crown Point, N.Y., died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at the Orchard Nursing Home in Granville, N.Y. She was born May 19, 1909, in Warren, Vt., the daughter of Auzmon and Bertha (Tatro) Thompson. Nora is survived by her children, Howard (Sonny) Thatcher of Avoca, Texas, Donald Gibbs of Port Henry, Elizabeth (Betty) Davis of North Creek, Joan Michaels of Postenkill, N.Y., Roland Gibbs of Crown Point, Elaine Godsey of Tampa, Fla., Norma Woelfersheim of Mechanicville, N.Y., and Clarence Gibbs of Crown Point; a sister, Toula Smith of North Haveville, N.H.; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Millard Gibbs; a son, Kenneth Gibbs; and a grandson, Hugh Godsey. Calling hours will be held Monday from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be May 19, 2006, at Fairview Cemetery, Crown Point, N.Y. Donations in Nora's memory may be made to Orchard Nursing Home, Rt. 40, North Granville, N.Y.
Deaths
DELIA E. "DOLLY" LAFLEUR, 85, of 5277 State Route 37,
Malone, N.Y., died Jan. 13, 2006, at Fletcher Allen Medical Center.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1920, in North Lawrence, N.Y., the daughter of
Noel and Florence (Ledger) Reynolds.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the St.
Mary-Murphy Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 4
p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Spring burial will take place in
St. John Bosco Cemetery.
JACK BALMFORTH, 86, formerly of Waterhouse Street, Plattsburgh,
died Jan. 13, 2006, at his home at Lakeview Towers with his family by his
side.
He was born in England on Nov. 25, 1919, the son of Cliffon and Emily
(Telford) Balmforth.
At Jack's request, there will be no calling hours. Following cremation,
burial will be at Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
