Irene A. LaBombard

AUSABLE FORKS — Irene A. LaBombard, 75, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born Aug. 23, 1930, on the Maicus farm, the daughter of Anthony and Jennie-Bell (Towner) Maicus.

She retired from Uihlein Mercy in Lake Placid. Irene and her husband Francis owned and operated Fran's Gulf Service located in AuSable Forks for many years. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially liked her recent trips to the casinos and New York City with her daughters, granddaughters and daughter-in-law.

She is survived by her children, Francis and Diane LaBombard of Peru, Victoria and Sam Palermo of Connecticut, Susan Goetz of Plattsburgh, Debbie and Randy Cassevah of Keeseville and Pamela LaBombard and her fiancà Chad Parrish of Keeseville. Irene had seven grandchildren, Frankie, Gina, Angela, Ed, Nicole, Harley and Tabatha. She also has eight great-grandchildren, Arthur, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Tieler, Alyssa, Bode, Kallan and Joshua; along with several nieces and nephews. Her brothers, William and Gordon Maicus, Carl and his wife Gayle Maicus, and Sidney and his wife Donna Maicus; and her sister, Eva Barton.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Francis R. LaBombard Jr.; her brothers, Raymond and Paul Maicus; her sisters, Doris Merrifield and Virginia Martin.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home. Father Phillip Allen, pastor of Holy Name and St. Matthews, will be officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service or the Peru Fire Department.

The Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

URSULA H. SCHLIETER, 100, formerly of Robert Long Apartments, Plattsburgh, died Jan. 12, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Aug. 5, 1905, the daughter of Peter and Josephine (Bonneville) Varno.

Calling hours and funeral services are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. Burial will be later in the year at St. Peter's Cemetery.
