Howard H. Morrison Sr.CHURUBUSCO -- Howard H. Morrison Sr., 77, of Churubusco, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at his residence. He was born in Churubusco on Nov. 18, 1928, the son of Herbert and Addie (Spoor) Morrison. He was a dairy farmer for most of his life. He was a member of the Malone Moose Lodge and enjoyed bowling. He is survived by a son and his companion, Howard Morrison Jr. and Joanne Seabron of Plattsburgh; a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Alex Godinez of Artesia, N.M.; a stepson, Kevin Morrison of Churubusco; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His wife Naomi died in 1990; and a brother, Charles Morrison, also died earlier. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday from St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Churubusco Fire Department. Elmer H. LangPORT HENRY, N.Y. -- Elmer H. Lang, 85, of Port Henry, N.Y., died on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at the nursing home in Ticonderoga, N.Y., after struggling with a long battle of diabetes. He was born April 3, 1920, in Crown Point, N.Y. He was predeceased by his parents, Hiram Lang and May Smith. Mr. Lang was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a mechanic/bodyman by trade for approximately 25 years and owned and operated his own business, Lang's Body Shop, for 20 years. He was a true lover of wildlife, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman with Howard French, Irving Laing and Billy Burlingame. He also had a very special talent for carving wildlife figures by hand. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Fay Lang, of 61 years; one brother, Ray Lang; and three sisters, Mary Haywood, Shirley Dalley and Edna Caron; two sons, William Lang of Mineville, N.Y., and wife Tammy and Elwyn Lang of Port Henry, N.Y., and wife Patty; three daughters, Carol Davis of Stillwater, N.Y., and husband Robert, Lorraine Defelice of Crown Point, N.Y., and husband Donald and Cheryl Lapier of Port Henry, N.Y., and husband James; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Lang; and a sister, Elizabeth Barker. Calling hours will take place at Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry on Sunday, Jan. 8, from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a brief service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held in the spring at White Church Cemetery in Crown Point, N.Y. Donations can be made to the Moriah Ambulance Squad. Lorraine "Lorrie" DonivanSCHUYLER FALLS -- Lorraine "Lorrie" Donivan, 46, of Birchwood Drive, Plattsburgh, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at her residence. She was born in Hornell, N.Y., on March 17, 1959, the daughter of Lloyd and Carolyn (Phillips) Lyke. Lorrie graduated in 1977 from Saranac High School and then attended and completed Rhode Island School of Photography. She married David G. Donivan on Feb. 11, 1989, at Anthony's Restaurant in Plattsburgh. Lorrie then, with David, owned and operated the House of Pine and Oak in Schuyler Falls. She was very active in the operations of the business and David always said, "She is the House of Pine." Lorrie attended Holy Angels Church in Altona. Survivors include her parents, Lloyd and Carolyn (Phillips) Lyke from Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Trudy Viscusi of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Linda Compoli of Schenectady, N.Y., and Ms. Carolyn Ross of Phoenix, Ariz.; one aunt and uncle, Bill and Bunky "Alice" (Phillips) Pawling of Largo, Fla.; five nephews, Corey Desso of Plattsburgh, Jason Desso of Plattsburgh, Jacob Desautels serving in Iraq, Adon Trombley of Schenectady and Karch Ross of Phoenix, Ariz.; and one niece, Konner Ross of Phoenix, Ariz.; several other aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Following the funeral Mass, a reception will be held at the American Legion Post 20 on the Quarry Road in Plattsburgh. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to The American Cancer Society. The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. David G. DonivanSCHUYLER FALLS -- David G. Donivan, 67, of Birchwood Drive, Plattsburgh, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Chazy, N.Y., on Jan. 17, 1938, the son of George I. and Edna (Durand) Donivan. David graduated from Plattsburgh High School and then attended Paul Smith's College for a year, studying forestry. He retired from the Plattsburgh City Police Department and was a Golden Gloves boxer. David and a friend built the House of Pine, later called the House of Pine and Oak. He owned and operated the furniture business for 26 years and he and his wife, Lorrie, had planned to retire this year. David married the former Lorrie Lyke on Feb. 11, 1989, at Anthony's Restaurant in Plattsburgh. David loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and guns. He also enjoyed walking in the woods and loved flying. He owned several sea planes and sometimes flew friends on fishing expeditions to Canada. David was a Golden Gloves boxer and he attended Holy Angels Church in Altona. David is survived by two brothers, George Donivan and his wife Elinor (Bush) of Gulfport, Miss., and Robert Donivan of Texas; two half brothers and one half sister, William and Kaye Donivan of York, Pa., James Donivan of Pennsylvania and Sheila Beeler of Pennsylvania; one aunt, Florence Donivan of Chazy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and a half brother, Michael Donivan, formerly of Pennsylvania.
