Lois Anne Heim was born June 3, 1933, in Utica, N.Y., the daughter of Theodore and Violet (Sebastian) Hadynski. Lois graduated from Holland Patent Central School and began working for the U.S. Air Force at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, N.Y., immediately after graduation.
