Dorothy L. "Dot" DiBelloMECHANICVILLE -- Dorothy L. "Dot" DiBello, 88, of South Main Street, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness. Born in Scranton, Pa., June 21, 1917, she resided in Dunmore, Pa., for several years and moved to Mechanicville as a young girl and lived here the rest of her life. She was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and attended Russell Sage College in Troy. "Dot" was a purchasing agent for the New York State Drug Abuse Commission for many years before retiring in 1979. Previously, she had sold life insurance and had worked for some time at DiSiena Furniture Store in Mechanicville. A better than average bowler and sports enthusiast, she was also an avid pinochle player and played with her friends on a weekly basis. She was predeceased by her husband, Mark John DiBello; her daughter, Jill DiBello Sherman; and sister, Mildred Schooler. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jo and Daniel Eggleston of Saranac; grandchildren Mark Eggleston, Kaia Hurd and Jodi Sherman; and a great-granddaughter, Jaden Hurd; along with a number of in-laws; and nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, at the Assumption-Sst. Paul William Street Church, Mechanicville, with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. Gonyo, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness. Born on Sept. 21, 1930, in Beekmantown, N.Y., he was the son of George and Rose (Bombard) Gonyo. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War having served on the U.S.S. Macon. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, playing cards and playing bingo. Robert retired as a station agent in 1983 from the Delaware and Hudson Railroad. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Bernard Gonyo. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (Porter) Gonyo, who he married on Feb. 6, 1951; his daughter, Robyn Ringler and her husband John of South Glens Falls; his son, Timothy Gonyo and his wife Debby of Queensbury; his grandchildren, Geoffrey Ringler and his wife Renee of Fishkill, Bradley Ringler of South Glens Falls, Jennifer Thom and her husband Daniel of Occum, Conn., and Justin Gonyo of Queensbury; his brothers, James Gonyo and his wife Betty of Travers City, Mich., and George Gonyo and his wife Marie of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are invited and may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Brady, 72, of the Frontier Road, Churubusco died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at the Champlain Valley Physician's Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Born in Malone on Dec. 15, 1933, he was the son of John and Nora (Whalen) Brady. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Churubusco. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1249, retiring in 1991. He was also a former member of the Churubusco Fire Department. Mr. Brady is survived by his wife, Lynn (Fetter) Brady of Churubusco; two sons, Kevin Brady of Churubusco and David Brady and his companion Pauline Hammond of Churubusco; four daughters, Donna LaBarre and her companion Larry LaValley of Mooers Forks, Joan Casey of Brushton, Beverly Brady of Churubusco and Barbara Brady of Nottingham, Md.; three stepdaughters, Tracey and her husband David Trombley of Ellenburg Center, Trudey Casselman and her companion Corey LaRock of Ellenburg Depot and Tarah Casselman and her companion Christopher O'Connell of Churubusco; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Shirley (LaBrake) Brady; seven brothers, William, Mark, John, Francis, Walter, Raymond and Kenneth Brady; five sisters, Blanche Lavery, Ellen Simpson, Kathleen Walcott, Nora Ann Franciso and Della Elizabeth Brady; and a granddaughter, Brooke Trombley. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 30 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with the Rev. Howard McCasland, officiating. Spring burial will take place at Immaculate Heart Cemetery in Churubusco. Elizabeth McGaviskDURHAM, N.C. -- Elizabeth Nash McGavisk, 75, died Tuesday at home following an extended illness. A native of Plattsburgh, she was a Durham resident since 1990. Betty spent her career as a registered nurse, having worked within the full range of nursing, including the hospital, nursing homes and private practice. She retired in 2001. As a gifted caregiver, Betty made the most of her retirement, volunteering for the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and at Holy Infant Catholic Church. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and friend. Surviving are her children, John F. McGavisk of Charlotte, N.C., and Margaret M. Rondeau and husband Doug of AuSable Forks, N.Y.; a brother, Leo Nash of Durham; and grandchildren, Madison and Hannah Rondeau. Her husband, Thomas E. McGavisk, predeceased her in 1982. A funeral Mass will be said at 9 a.m. Friday from Holy Infant Catholic Church, Durham, N.C. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Seymour SummersWILLSBORO -- Seymour Summers, 85, of Clarence Oliver Drive, Willsboro, died early Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Brooklyn, Sept. 19, 1920, the son of the late Morris and Rose (Podbuch) Summers. Seymour enjoyed music. He was often seen with a harmonica in one hand and a guitar in the other. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed socializing especially when it involved joking with friends. He was of the Jewish faith and over the years participated in many special celebrations. In recent years, Seymour reconnected with members of his family, in particular his brother, niece and great-nephew. He thoroughly enjoyed corresponding with them and sending photos back and forth. He took pride in his new family connections. Seymour brought a smile to those he encountered on a daily basis. He will be remembered as a charismatic and endearing gentleman. Survivors include one niece, Roberta Berger and her husband; and one great-nephew and spouse Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Berger. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Oscar and Sherman; and one sister, Sophie. A memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. Burial will be held at a later date in the Eden Memorial Park in Los Angeles, Calif. MARION A. TACY, 88, formerly of Chateaugay died Wednesday, Dec.
28, 2005, at Highland Nursing Home in Massena, N.Y.
She was born in Ellenburg Center, N.Y., on Feb. 1, 1917, the daughter
of George and Mary Louise (Dupree) Tacy.
There are no calling hours. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated
at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30 in St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. John
Demo officiating. Spring burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery
in Chateaugay.
Arrangements are through the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
MOLLY CADIEUX, 40, of Montcalm Avenue, Plattsburgh died on
Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1965, daughter of Robert G. and Catherine
(Upton) Cadieux.
Calling hours will be Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Brown
Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Burial will be later next year in St. Peter's
Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
MARY A. COUTURE, 84, of Dannemora, died Wednesday, Dec. 28,
2005, at her residence.
Arrangements were incomplete Wednesday evening at the
O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
LAURA JEAN DOMINY, 51, of Lynde Street, Plattsburgh, died
Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was born in Plattsburgh on March 18, 1954, the daughter of Gerald
and Ruth (Williams) Dominy.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in
Plattsburgh on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at 1 p.m.
