Rita D. Bushey LashwayMOOERS -- Rita D. Bushey Lashway, 79, of Mooers, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at her daughter's residence. She was born in Clinton, Mass., on May 5, 1926, the daughter of Lemmie and MaryEllen (Miller) Bosley. She enjoyed playing slot machines, bingo, card playing, cooking and most of all being with her family. She cooked in her own restaurants and many others. She is survived by a son, Dwight Bushey and companion Dennis Parkins of South Windsor, Conn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gary DeCoste of Mooers, Robin and Gary Burdeau of Mooers Forks; a sister, Grace Petteys of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren, Casey and Julie Burdeau, Benji and Brian DeCoste, Scott and Brittany St. John and Nicole Bushey; four great-grandchildren, Curtis Bosley, Kayla and Ryan DeCoste and Austin Tetreault; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Armand Bushey; and her second husband, Amos Lashway, after five months of marriage. She was also predeceased by her son, Shawn Bushey, who died at the age of 35. In a family of 12, she is survived by one sister. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday from St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Mooers Rescue Squad. Armand W. Daniels Sr.BEEKMANTOWN -- Armand W. Daniels Sr., 73, of the O'Neil Road in Beekmantown, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center. Armand was born in Plattsburgh on June 5, 1932, the son of Joseph Daniels and Julia Elizabeth (Rivers) Daniels. He attended school in Beekmantown and worked on his family's farm until being drafted into the U.S. Army in September 1952. Armand served in the Korean War as a machine gunner and field medic until his Honorable Discharge in July 1954. Armand received the Bronze Star and Medal of Honor, along with other accommodations for his actions during this conflict. Armand was an auto mechanic in Plattsburgh for many years. In his retirement, Armand enjoyed hunting and fishing. He maintained a number of seasonal gardens and sold vegetables at a roadside stand for many years. Armand Daniels is survived by his wife of over 51 years, MaryEllen Daniels of Beekmantown; two daughters, Kathleen Di' Orio of Plattsburgh and Cindy L. Ruck and husband Vincent of Plattsburgh; and a son, Armand W. Daniels Jr. and wife Jackie of Plattsburgh. Armand is also survived by siblings, Arthur Daniels and wife Anne Marie of Beekmantown, Julia Jubert and husband Austin of Altona, Thomas Daniels and wife Nancy of Beekmantown, Annette Ferguson and husband Chris of Beekmantown. Other survivors include a step-brother, Herbert Stacey of Beekmantown; step-sister Dawn Pratt of Plattsburgh; and sister-in-law Maude Daniels of Plattsburgh. He is predeceased by his mother, father and brother, Robert Daniels. Armand had five granddaughters, Sherri Pallik of Plattsburgh, Angela Ruck of Plattsburgh, Tracey Stegemann of Troy, Denyse Haywood of Plattsburgh and Nicole Daniels of Plattsburgh; four great-grandchildren, Jaden, Ashlynn, Kevin and Shyanne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will be in West Chazy Cemetery in the spring. Those who wish to make memorial contributions may do so to the Renal Center of CVPH Medical Center.

BARBARA WINCH TOBIN, 78, of the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility
and formerly of Cadyville, died Dec. 17, 2005, at the Meadowbrook Health
Care Facility in Plattsburgh.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brown
Funeral Home, Park Row, Cadyville. A Mass of Christian burial will be held
on Tuesday at noon at St. James Church in Cadyville. Spring burial will be
held at St. James Cemetery in Cadyville.
JOHN G. BRIEN, 65, of 12 Hillcrest Lane, Elizabethtown, died
Dec. 17, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 20, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. at W.M. Marvin's Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral Mass
will be conducted by Monsignor Peter Rianni on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St.
Elizabeth's Church in Elizabethtown. A full obituary will appear in
Monday's Press-Republican.
LENA M. BAKER, 97, formerly of Val Haven in Peru, died Dec. 16,
2005, at the Skilled Nursing Facility at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was born in Sciota, N.Y., on Sept. 1, 1908, the daughter of Joseph
and Laura (LaForest) Baker.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the R.W.
Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral Mass will follow at 1:30
p.m. at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will take place in the
spring in the parish cemetery.
