Marie E. BreyettePLATTSBURGH -- Marie E. Breyette, 82, of Prospect Avenue, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, in CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born Aug. 31, 1923, in Chateaugay, N.Y., the daughter of John Kenneth and Lena (Trainer) Earl. Marie retired from Plattsburgh High School as a home economics teacher. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, walking and the outdoors. Marie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Sara Breyette of Plattsburgh, Donn and Karrie Breyette of Morrisonville; a sister, Lucille Butler of Huntington; eight grandchildren, Jamie Breyette, Jason Breyette, Tamara Hebert, Chris Breyette, Travis Breyette, Kevin Breyette, Nathan Breyette, Kara Breyette; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Breyette, Jaden Breyette, Brandon Breyette, Rocky Breyette, Riley Breyette; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Breyette; son, John Breyette; and brother, Kenneth Earl. Calling hours will be Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Inc., Plattsburgh, N.Y. Services will be held at United Methodist Church, Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Clark Callender, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Whispering Maples Mausoleum. Verna Marie BurnsPLATTSBURGH -- Verna Marie Burns, 88, passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility after a long illness. She was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 6, 1917, the daughter of Martha and Burton Coryer. She married Loyal Burns on Nov. 26, 1938, at the Methodist Church in Plattsburgh. She was employed for over 20 years by the Plattsburgh City School District in food service, retiring in 1982. She was a life member of the United Methodist Church. Mrs. Burns is survived by her husband, Loyal; one daughter, Bonnie Benton and her husband Marvin of Plattsburgh; two sons, Jeff Burns and his wife Judy of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Scott Burns and his wife Elizabeth of Oswego, N.Y. She loved and cherished her grandchildren, Michael Berry and his wife Tracey of Plattsburgh, Martha Berry of Syracuse, Dr. Keri Burns and her husband Dr. Dana Booth of Indianapolis and Kate and Owen Burns; and great-grandchildren, Chloe and Cade Berry and James Loyal Booth. She was predeceased by her brothers, George and Clifford Coryer; and sister, Helen Gates. She loved spending time with her family and was always their strength and a quiet influence. Public calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. A memorial reception will be at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility at 3 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery. Daignault, 79, died on Dec. 14, 2005, at Saratoga Hospital. He was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Ellenburg, N.Y., the son of the late Joseph and Regina (Bessette) Daignault. Alfred was a machinist for General Electric in Schenectady from 1948 until he retired in 1986. Alfred was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving from 1944 to 1946. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and running and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Ballston Spa. Alfred was predeceased by his parents; his daughter, Elaine Daignault, who died in 1967; his brothers, Ralph, Paul, Harold, Emery, Maurice and Floyd Daignault; his sisters, Ida LaFrancis (Amos) and Pauline Booth (Harold); and brother-in-law, Orlando Bessey. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ramona (Boyea) Daignault; three sons, Floyd Daignault (Diane) of Scotia, Peter Daignault of Whitehall and Joseph A. Daignault (Debi) of Corinth, N.Y.; two daughters, Susanne Vanderbogart (Michael) of Lakeridge, Va., and Jennifer Collier (Eric) of Salem, N.Y.; a sister, Irene Bessey of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Daignault, Cherie Plummer and her husband Warren, Aren and Lee Anne Vanderbogart, Joseph M. and Ryan Daignault and Matthew Collier; great-grandchildren, Madelynn and Adam Plummer; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa. Services will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. at Mevec Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Milton Avenue. Pallbearers will be Joseph M. and Ryan Daignault, Michael Vanderbogart, Eric Collier, Joseph LeFebvre and James Carlson. Burial with military honors will be at Saratoga National Cemetery.

DORA M. LAPREE, 72, of 2374 State Route 11, North Bangor, N.Y.,
died Dec. 13, 2005, at her home.
She was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Churubusco, N.Y., the daughter of Zara
and Caroline (LaClair) Valley.
Calling hours will be Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the St. Mary-Murphy
Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on
Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private.
