Hortense Albina Peryea

DANNEMORA -- Hortense Albina Peryea, 86, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Altona on Feb. 7, 1919, daughter of the late Phillip and Clara (Peete) Patnode.

Hortense had been employed as a chambermaid with Sun and Sand Motel, CVPH Medical Center Housekeeping Department and PSUC Housekeeping Department. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora and a former member of Catholic Daughters of America. Hortense enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and spending time with her family.

Hortense is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bernard "Pat" Peryea of Dannemora; three children, Patricia Couture and her husband Clement of Dannemora, Elaine Miller and her husband Howard of Ellenburg and Phyllis Peryea of Thomasville, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Ann Marie Petrashune and her husband Peter, Stephen Couture and his wife Amy, Laurie Jean Couture and her companion Mike Holmes, Michael Miller, Mark Miller and his fiancée Melanie, Jason Miller and his fiancée Beth, Christi Cooper, Ralph Cooper, Suzette Couture Inman, Adam Couture; 15 great-grandchildren, Adam Petrashune, Karen Petrashune, Austin Petrashune, Kristen Petrashune, Dylan Miller, Zachary Miller, Ethan Miller, Joshua Cooper, Brandon Couture, Cory Couture, Kameron Couture, Ashley Miller, Cierra Miller, Christina Miller, Bradley Miller; a great-great-grandchild, Jordon Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Hortense was predeceased by her parents, Clara and Phillip Patnode; three brothers, Frank Patnode, William Patnode, Edward Patnode; three sisters, Mae Patnode, Rose Gardner and Ida Surprenant.

Calling hours will be Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Cadyville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Burial will be next year in the parish cemetery.

Donations in Hortense's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country and Dannemora Volunteer Fire Department.

Donna M. Kyea

AU SABLE FORKS -- Donna M. (Rushia) Kyea, 64, of AuSable Forks, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, after a courageous battle with lung disease.

Donna was born Aug. 8, 1941, the daughter of Ector and Eleanor (Myers) Rushia.

Donna graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in June 1958. She married Roger J. Kyea June 4, 1960, in AuSable Forks. Donna and her husband Roger owned and operated Kyeas Ceramics and Kyea's Disposal Service for many years.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Timothy R. Kyea and his wife Tracey of AuSable Forks and Daniel S. Kyea and his wife Nicole of Painesville, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several in-laws; nieces, nephews; and many close friends.

Donna was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Roger Kyea; a daughter, Lisa Kyea; and a brother, Daniel Rushia.

At her request, there will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks, with Father Phillip Allen celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service.

The Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lawrence W. Kelley

ROUSES POINT -- Lawrence W. Kelley, 79, of Rouses Point, N.Y., died Dec. 7, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y. He was born in Newport, Vt., on June 3, 1926.

Larry graduated from Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans, Vt., in 1944. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Italy as a technician in the 1st Battalion, 12th Regiment, 4th Infantry Division.

He married Judith Macek on May 28, 1949, in Proctor, Vt. He began working at the Railway Express in St. Albans. Beginning in 1951, he worked his way up from an entry level position at the custom brokerage firm, A.N. Deringer, Inc., until he achieved the vice president position. Following his retirement in 1987, he continued as a board director until 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Kelley; and two daughters, Andrea (Robert) Cliffe of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Meredith Acken of Salt Point, N.Y.; and six grandchildren, Katerie (Brian) Breuer, Ryan, Merrick and Kyle Cliffe and Alyssa and Christopher Acken. Additionally, he is survived by his two sisters, Betty Ann (John) Finn and Sandra (Edward) Des Lauriers; and one brother, Michael Kelley, all of St. Albans, Vt.

He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Winston "Bud" Kelley.

There are no calling hours. A private Rite of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Christ and St. John's Episcopal Church, Champlain, N.Y.
