Marie B. Ross

CROWN POINT, N.Y. -- Marie B. Ross, age 81, died at home on Nov. 17, 2005.

Born on March 31, 1924, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., she was the daughter of Howard and Amanda Brock of Crown Point.

On July 27, 1943, she married Donald H. Ross. Marie and Don have been together 65 years.

She leaves behind five children, Tim, Donna Skinner, Doug and wife Beth, Mindy and husband Bob Dickinson and Perry (Perk) and wife Jan; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours at this time.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to High Peaks Hospice.

Raymond H. Carter

CADYVILLE -- Mr. Raymond H. Carter, 85, formerly of Shady Lane, Cadyville and most recently LaFayette Street, Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Saranac, N.Y., on June 19, 1920, the son of Henry and Rena (Boulé) Carter.

Raymond worked for the New York State Department of Corrections, retiring from Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora. He owned and operated R.H. Carter & Sons Fuel Oil. Raymond served two terms as a Clinton County legislator for area six, the Clinton Community College Board of Trustees and the Saranac Central School Board. Raymond was treasurer for the Boys Scouts Troop 44, Cadyville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Raymond was a member of the Dannemora Knights of Columbus Council and Bishop Wadhams 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and a member of St. James Church in Cadyville and St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.

He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Rena Carter; his brothers, Reginald and Leonard Carter; his children, Cathy and Kevin Carter; a daughter-in-law, Jan Carter; and a sister-in-law, Julia Carter.

He is survived by his wife, Betty (Tobin) Carter of Plattsburgh, whom he married Sept. 27, 1947, at St. James Church in Cadyville; his sons, Reginald Carter and his wife Susan of Columbus, Ohio, Randy Carter of Plattsburgh, Mark Carter of Plattsburgh, David Carter and his wife Sharon of Carlsbad, Calif., John Carter of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Rosemary LaMarche and her husband Arthur of Plattsburgh; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Raymond was a man of great faith in God and strength of character. He will be remembered for his honesty, integrity, work ethic and above all, love of his family.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. from St. James Church in Cadyville.

Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.

According to Raymond's wishes, donations in his memory may be made to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith.

Members of the Knights of Columbus Dannemora Council and the 4th Degree Knights are asked to meet Monday at 7 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home for services.

Elizabeth M. O'Malley

PLATTSBURGH -- Elizabeth M. O'Malley, 88, formerly of Peru, but spent most of her life in Bloomingdale, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Peru, N.Y., Jan. 5, 1917, the daughter of Victor and Ida (LaPointe) Jarvis.

Elizabeth was the town clerk for the Town of St. Armand for many years.

She had many cats over the years that she loved dearly.

Elizabeth is survived by one niece, Vonna and her husband William Reid of Peru; and one nephew, Francis E. Gowette of Plattsburgh; two great-nieces, Vanessa and her husband James McConnell of Peru and Vonda and her husband Frank Funkhouser of Fairborn, Ohio; one great - great - nephew, Sean McConnell; seven great-great-nieces, Erin McConnell, Jennifer, Jessica and Jerrica Hutchinson, Geraldine, Jessica and Brittany Gowette; one great - great - great - niece, Mackaley Cugno.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband John O'Malley; three sisters, Bertha Gowette, Ellen Reid and Bernadette C. Jarvis; and one brother, Alton Jarvis.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. Alan D. Shnob, pastor of St. Augustine's Church in Peru, officiating. Burial will be Monday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Cemetery in Bloomingdale.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Elmore SPCA in Peru or Peru Fire Department Rescue Squad.

Deaths

RONALD A. PULSIFER, 56, of So. Platt Street, Plattsburgh, died Nov. 19, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Elizabethtown, N.Y., on March 14, 1949, the son of the late Nelson J. Pulsifer and Patricia A. Ryden.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville.
