George Pulsifer

PALM BAY, Fla. -- George Pulsifer, 61, passed away into the hands of the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, in Palm Bay, Fla., after a long illness with cancer. He was born Feb. 13, 1944, in Jay, N.Y., the son of Wallace and Marguerite (Pelkey) Pulsifer of Jay.

After graduating from AuSable Valley Central School, he went to work at Whiteface Mountain where he worked until he moved to Florida in 1989, where he worked for Ranger Construction for 14 years until he retired. He married Lillian (Betty) Grant on June 14, 1969.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, George and Candy Pulsifer and John and Rhonda Pulsifer; one daughter, Ellen Fritz and her husband Rick of Florida; two brothers, Tom Pulsifer of Jay and Gary Pulsifer of Keeseville; three sisters, Sadie Pulsifer and Mary Murray of Jay and Theresa Desourdy of Hinesburgh, Vt.; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Monica and Katey Fritz, Tyler and Katlin Pulsifer, Jacob Pulsifer and Amanda Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, John, Wally and William.

A prayer service will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Sadie Pulsifer's house in Jay with the Rev. Philip T. Allen, pastor of Holy Name and St. Matthew's, officiating.

The Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Glennice M. Jones

CORUNNA, Ind. -- Glennice M. Jones, 68, of Corunna, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Mrs. Jones worked at GTE for 30 years, retiring in March 1999.

She was a member of the ABWA for 28 years and a member of the Cub Scouts of America for 17 years.

She was born Oct. 10, 1937, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to Kenneth and Gladys (Morgan) Jennette. They preceded her in death.

She married Roger Jones Jr. in Plattsburgh in 1956. He died Sept. 16, 2002.

Surviving are five sons and three daughters-in-law, Kelly Jones of Corunna, Tracy and Michelle Jones of Corunna, Allen Jones of Fort Wayne, Roger Jones III and Pam Jones of Auburn, Ind., and Patrick and Lisa Jones of New Haven, Ind.; a daughter and son-in-law, Norene and Dan Luley of Fort Wayne; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kevin and Sue Jennette of Plattsburgh and Wayne and Jill Jennette of West Chazy, N.Y.; a sister, Gail Snyder of Ticonderoga, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Jennette and Fred Jennette.

Services were held on Friday, Nov. 11, at the Feller Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, Ind., officiated by Chaplain Tony Jones. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery at New Haven.

Memorials are to the ABWA Scholarship Fund.

Deaths:

DONALD P. ROULEAU, 64, of Michaele Avenue, Plattsburgh, died Nov. 16, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Canada on Aug. 17, 1941, son of Emile Rouleau and Jeannette Turgeon.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Following cremation, burial will be in Canada.

GEORGE "PIE" BARNEY, 79, of 57 State St., Malone, died Nov. 16, 2005, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

He was born in Fort Covington, N.Y., on Jan. 12, 1926, the son of the late Harold and Priscilla (LeClair) Barney.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home chapel. A prayer service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in Notre Dame Cemetery with full military honors.

LYALL I. CAIRNS, 72, of Hopkins Point Road, Fort Covington, N.Y., died Nov. 17, 2005, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, a day after admission.

He was born in Huntingdon, Quebec, on Feb. 1, 1933, the son of the late James and Jennie (Lang) Cairns.

Calling hours will be in the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
