Ruth M. PelkeyPLATTSBURGH -- Ruth M. Pelkey, 77, of Evergreen Valley Nursing Home and formerly of Lakeview Towers, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005. She was born in Champlain on Oct. 11, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Burnham) Larocque. Mrs. Pelkey married Arnold Pelkey at St. Mary's Church, Champlain, in 1949. Mr. Pelkey died Feb. 20, 1994. Ruth was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and a member of REACT. She enjoyed her family, gardening, camping and picnics. Survivors include 10 sons, Donald Pelkey of St. Albans, Vt., LeRoy and Paula Pelkey of Peru, Richard and Laurie Pelkey of Sciota, Robert and Margaret Pelkey of Sciota, William and Mary Pelkey of Plattsburgh, Michael Pelkey of Altona, Larry Pelkey of Plattsburgh, Harold Pelkey of Yuma, Ariz., George and Candie Pelkey of West Chazy and Gerald and Maria Pelkey of Plattsburgh; two daughters, SueAnn Hart and her companion Leward Upton of Plattsburgh and Barbara Stiffler and her husband Raymon R. Jr. of Plattsburgh; one sister, Betty Ricketts of Trenton, Mo.; 28 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. One son, Peter Pelkey and one daughter, Mary Pelkey, died earlier. Calling hours will be Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at noon at Our Lady of Victory Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army. The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Francis Samuel BowenWILLSBORO, N.Y. -- Francis Samuel Bowen, 74, died at his home in Lewis, Monday, Nov. 14, 2005. Sam, as he was known to all his friends, was born in Willsboro on Sept. 24, 1931, the son of Francis and Charlotte (Bragg) Bowen. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a truck driver. He retired from Anchor Motor Freight. He lived in Willsboro for many years and then moved to Thetford Center, Vt. After his wife Darlene died in October of 2004, he moved back to Lewis to live closer to his family. Sam is survived by two daughters and their families, Francine and Rob Lee and children Tiffany and fiancé Michael Thwaits, Patrick and Kaitlin and Wanda Young and her children, Neil and Mallory; and a great-grandson, Jayden Thwaits. He is also survived by a sister, Alice of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bowen was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, James and Ronald; and his wife Darlene. Calling hours will be held at the Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the United Congregational Church of Christ, Willsboro, on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery on the Essex Road. The Rev. Dean Gilbert will officiate. Ann CavalloSARANAC LAKE -- E. Ann Cavallo, 81, of 91 Turtle Pond Road, Saranac Lake, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at the Adirondack Medical Center. Born in Ogdensburg, N.Y., on Sept. 28, 1924, she was the daughter of Arthur and Theresa (Doyle) Cole. She married Joseph P. Cavallo Sr. on Aug. 29, 1955, in St. Bernard's Church. He predeceased her on May 11, 2004. Mrs. Cavallo graduated from the Hepburn School of Nursing in Ogdensburg, N.Y., and later moved to Saranac Lake in the late 1940s to work as a registered nurse at the Ray Brook Hospital. She and her husband also owned and operated the Belvedere Restaurant in Saranac Lake for many years. She was an avid gardener. She is survived by two sons, Joseph Cavallo Jr. and his fiancée Lillian Duffy of Saranac Lake and Gerard Cavallo and his wife Joanne of Saranac Lake; one daughter, ElIen Campion of Jay, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Jay Campion of Jay, N.Y., Christopher Cavallo and Alyssa Cavallo, both of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; one brother, Kenneth Cole of Ogdensburg, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; one son, Daniel Cavallo; and several brothers and sisters. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, at St. Bernard's Church, with the Rev Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Following cremation, burial will take place in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. Cook Sr., 77, of Salmon River Road, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Peru on Dec. 11, 1927, son of William and Cora (Ogden) Cook. Claude was a truck driver, employed by E.J. Monroe for 28 years. He loved to fish and hunt. Claude is survived by his wife of 28 years, Catherine (Cockran) Cook of Plattsburgh; 10 children, Marion Hart of Virginia Beach, Va., Claudia Provost of Massachusetts, Susan and David Christian of Keeseville, Marjorie and Larry Waldron of Saranac, Claude and Cindy Cook Jr. of Four Oaks, N.C., Julia and Loyal LePierre of West Chazy, Edward and Penny Cook of Altona, Michael and Joleene Cook of Plattsburgh, Mina and Robert Fleury of Peru, Kelly and Francis Bell of Peru; two brothers, William and Cindy Cook of Peru, Dale and Gail Cook of Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Monnette of Fort Ann, Barbara Reddington of Bell Flower, Calif.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in Ingraham Cemetery. Leon J. DutilCHAMPLAIN -- Leon J. Dutil, 54, of Champlain passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at the Northwestern Medical Center in Saint Albans, Vt. He was born Dec. 28, 1950, the son of the late Zozime and Rose (DeLima) Dutil. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972. Leon married Kathleen Aubin in July of 1980. He was a member of the American Legion Post 767 in Champlain. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and reading. His parents and two sisters, Celine Dutil and Rita LaVergne, predeceased Leon. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; two sons, Nathan Dutil of Champlain and Adam Dutil of Champlain; one daughter, Rachel Dutil of Champlain; three brothers, Adrien Dutil and his wife Sharon of Sciota, Dennis Dutil and his wife Linda of Champlain and Marc Dutil of Champlain and his companion Laurie Scharf; one brother-in-law, Bill LaVerne of Champlain; as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours were held on Tuesday at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. Robert John MooreLAKEWOOD, N.J. -- Robert John Moore, 79, of Lakewood, N.J., died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, N.J. Mr. Moore owned the R.J. Moore Frosted Food Co., in Cedar Grove, N.J., for many years, before retiring in 1990. Later, he worked as a golf ranger at the Barefoot Bay (Fla.) Golf and Country Club. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during World War II. He was a lifelong member of the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department; a member of the Moose Lodge in Sebastian, Fla., and the American Legion in Barefoot Bay. Born in Bloomfield, he lived in Cedar Grove and Barefoot Bay before moving to Lakewood last year. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet; children, Faith Ann Weber and her husband Kevin, Barbara LaPorte and her husband Sherwood, Robert J. Moore Jr., Kimberly Huff and her fiancé Michael Bartley and Donald Moore and his wife Betty; a brother, Otto Erdman; a sister, Violet Grohusky; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be private. A service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday in the Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. RUTHE M. SANTY, 79, of 35 Wellington St., Malone, died Nov. 12,
2005, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home.
She was born in Malone on May 1, 1926, the daughter of John N. and
Elsie (Sochia) Manson.
There will be no calling hours. Cemetery committal services will be
held Friday at 10 a.m. in Morningside Cemetery with the Rev. John Werley
officiating. The public is invited. Following the committal, the family
will receive friends at Ruthe's home, 35 Wellington St., Malone, from 1 to
4 p.m.

EDWARD V. ALVAREZ JR., 73, of Fort Brown, Plattsburgh, died
Sept. 17, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Nogalaos, Ariz., on Jan. 7, 1932, the son of Edward V.
and Irma Alvarez Sr.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of
Victory Church, with the Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux, pastor,
officiating.
Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
