Gail E. Dean

PLATTSBURGH -- Gail E. Dean, 58, of Truman Avenue, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Plattsburgh on July 13, 1947, the daughter of Carl and Ethel (Smith) Kirk.

Gail was a graduate of St. John's Academy and attended Our Lady of Victory Secretarial School. She was a member of St. John's Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Tanya Dean of McGuire Air Force Base; two daughters and a son-in-law, Heidi Dean of Plattsburgh and Gretchen and David Lefevre of Peru; one brother, Carlton Kirk of Plattsburgh; four grandchildren, Zierra Dean, Tavien Brown, Knight Dean and Caspian Lefevre; several nieces and nephews.

Gail was predeceased by her parents.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center.

Leona Marie Collins Madsen

PLATTSBURGH -- Leona Marie Collins Madsen was reunited with her beloved husband, Peter, and her beloved son James on Friday, Oct. 28, 2005.

She had resided at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home since February 2004.

Born in Burke, N.Y. on Jan. 8, 1919, she was the daughter of Frank and Grace Shonyo Collins.

On June, 5 1948, she and Peter Madsen were married in Malone, N.Y. They moved to Plattsburgh in 1950. She worked for 26 years for the Plattsburgh City School District and then for more than 15 years at the First Presbyterian Church where she was also a member for more than 50 years.

Surviving are her daughter Marilyn Madsen and significant other Francis LaCroix of Belchertown, Mass., her three grandchildren Gregory, Geoffrey and Therese LaMarche of Wilbraham, Mass., her sister and brother-in-law Jean and John Ellsworth of Fort Covington, N.Y., a sister-in-law Beverly Conn of Rochester, N.Y.,; several nieces and nephews and her daughter-in-law Deborah Madsen Luther of Morrisonville and her family.

Besides her husband and son, she was predeceased by her parents, a sister Joyce in infancy and three brothers, Arlington, Morris and Merrill.

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005 at 1 p.m. there will be a calling hour for family and close friends, followed by a funeral service at Spaulding Funeral Home at 530 East Main St. in Malone with burial following in Morningside Cemetery in Malone.

The family will welcome everyone who would like to join in the celebration of Leona's life at a memorial service, which will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsburgh.

The family wishes to thank each and every one of the caregivers at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home for their kindness.

We will remember Leona fondly for the thoughts and experiences she shared with us. We give thanks to almighty God for the many years on this Earth he allowed her.

Those wishing to do so may omit flowers and send contributions to First Presbyterian Church, 34 Brinkerhoff St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. 12901 in Leona's memory.

Deaths

BERNADETTE MARIE "BUNNY" KING, 88, of the Begor Home, Military Turnpike, Plattsburgh, and formerly of South Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Cadyville on Sept. 14, 1917, the daughter of Peter Sam and Harriet (Bleau) Trudeau.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.

BEULAH B. DOROTHY, 94, of State Route 3 in St. Lawrence County, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

She was born in Childwold on June 19, 1911, to Adirondack pioneer parents Jonas and Edith M. (Pond) Bancroft.

Friends may call at Childwold Memorial Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, from 11 a.m. until noon, when a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Virginia Atherley officiating. Burial will follow in Gale Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Piercefield Fire Department, Childwold Presbyterian Church or Tupper Lake Rescue Squad in care of Richer Funeral Home, 29 Park St., Tupper Lake, NY 12986.

ALPHONSE J. PAWELCZYK, 87, of Whitney Street, Moriah, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Porter Nursing Home, Middlebury, Vt.

Alphonse was born on June 22, 1918, at Chelsea, Mass., the son of Walter and Waleria (Warenik) Pawelczyk.

Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Port Henry.
