T. James StrackLAKE PLACID — T. James Strack, a lifetime native of Lake Placid, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y., after a long illness. He died peacefully with his wife, Betty and daughter, Erin at his side. T. James, known to everyone as "Jim," has been well known and very active in this community for as long as we can remember. He was born in Keene Valley, N.Y., on Sept. 10, 1943, the son of Paul and Frances Ryan Strack of Lake Placid. He was married to Betty J. Farley, also of Lake Placid, on June 15, 2004, after a long friendship. They have one daughter, Erin Farley-Davis and one grandson, Joshua Farley, both of Lake Placid. He is also survived by brothers, John Strack, Jerry Strack and Michael Strack; and sisters, Carol Yorkey, Nancy Latour, Patricia Berlat, Mary McDonald and Karen Conelly; and several nieces and nephews. He graduated from Lake Placid Central School in 1961 and then enlisted in the United States Army, where he remained from 1961 to 1965. Upon returning home, he went to work for Francis Wood as an electrician. Later on, Jim owned and ran Tri Lakes Electric at 420 Main Street in Lake Placid for many years. He got involved in politics at an early age, being elected a village trustee in 1971. He was a trustee for 24 years, resigning to run fro the office of mayor in 1995. He was then elected mayor and remained in that office until he retired on April 2, 2001. During his tenures on the village board and as mayor, he was negotiator for the unions for 12 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 326 in Lake Placid, past president of Post 326, a 30-year member of the Elks Club and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also on the St. Agnes Parish Council for many years and a member of the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Lake Placid Pee Wee Association and a board member of the Lake Placid Horse Show Association. Jim was an avid golfer, spending recent winters in Naples, Fla. He also loved to watch his grandson, Josh participate in sports... he was always there. Jim Strack was a good man, loyal to his family, his church and his community ... he will be sorely missed. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be a fireman's prayer service Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by an American Legion prayer service at 8:30 and a Bible vigil service at 8:45 p.m. A Requiem High Mass will be offered on Saturday morning, Oct. 29, 2005, at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Burial will follow at the St. Agnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to The Adirondack Community Trust and designate them for the T. — Arthur Faubert Sr., 76, of Carrier Apartments, Rouses Point, N.Y., died on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, after a long illness. He was born in Rochester, N.Y., on July 21, 1929, the son of Rosalio and Hazel Faubert of Finch, Ontario. He was married to Dorothy Mae (Kemp) Faubert, who predeceased him on July 14, 1996. Survivors include six sons, Arthur Faubert Jr. and his wife Wendy of West Chazy, N.Y., Raymond Faubert of Rouses Point, N.Y., Michael Faubert and his companion Sharon of Champlain, N.Y., William Faubert and his wife Laurie of Mooers, N.Y., Albert Faubert and his wife Shannon of West Chazy, N.Y., and Timothy Faubert and his long time companion Arlene Seney of Mooers, N.Y.; and three daughters, Susan Babbie and her husband Peter of Champlain, N.Y., Judith Tallada and her husband Duane of West Chazy,, NY; and Patricia Goodfellow and her husband Douglas of Mooers, N.Y. He is also survived by a sister, Marion Faubert of Buffalo, N.Y.; four brothers, Raymond (Bud) Faubert and his wife Gloria of Courteney, British Columbia, Richard (Dickie) Faubert and his wife Nancy Faubert of Nepean, Ontario, Robert (Bobbie) Faubert his wife Gail of Kanato, Ontario, and Albert Faubert of Newburg, N.Y.; 26 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, who will miss his great sense of humor, endless love and compassion for giving to those less fortunate. He was predeceased by his father, Rosalio Faubert; mother, Hazel Faubert; brother Leo Faubert; wife, Dorothy Faubert; and sister, Eileen Champagne. Mr. Faubert was a Veteran of Foreign Wars who served in the Korean War and a retiree of the Delaware and Hudson Railroad. He was also employed for a number of years as a welder at Albany Steel Corporation after losing his right arm due to a railroad accident in 1963. He was an avid supporter of the Mission of Hope, where he sponsored a 6-year-old child for several years. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be handled through Clark Funeral Home in Champlain, N.Y., at the convenience of the family. — Shawn W. Dora, 40, son of Donald and Nancy Dora of Chateaugay, N.Y., and Margaret Dora and Ronald LaFave of Spring Hill, Fla., died Oct. 19, 2005, at Oak Hill Hospital, Spring Hill, Fla., following a 10-year battle against cancer. Shawn was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on May 6, 1965. He graduated from Chateaugay Central School in the class of 1983. Shawn enjoyed outdoor activities with his greatest love being fishing. He is survived by his parents; a brother, Todd Dora of California; a special friend, Phyllis LeMay of Chateaugay; several aunts, uncles and cousins; two nephews; and many friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Delmore and Arrietta Gadway; and paternal grandparents, William and Lucille Dora. There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be at 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 29 in St. Patrick's Church in Chateaugay with the Rev. John Demo, officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Knoll Cemetery in Chateaugay. — Mrs. Mary Bouise Dave, 93, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility with her family by her side. She was born in New Orleans, La., on Oct. 3, 1912, the daughter of William G. and Anaise (Forstall) Bouise. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, La., she was evacuated to Plattsburgh after Hurricane Katrina. Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She spent many hours volunteering with the Girl Scouts and school activities. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, needle crafts and caring for her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph B. Dave Sr.; and a son, Joseph B. Dave Jr. Mary is survived by two daughters, Janice Dave Stanley and her husband Willie Stanley Jr. of Plattsburgh and Lynn M. Dave of New Orleans; four grandsons, Joseph and Darren Dave and Eric and Gregory Stanley; four great-granddaughters, Casey, Madisen and Jorden Dave and Allison Stanley. — Donald R. "Put" Putnam, 68, of Calkins Place, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at his residence. Born in Ticonderoga, Sept. 18, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles Putnam and Frances (Abbey) Putnam, who survives him, of Ticonderoga. Mr. Putnam was a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga. He was employed as a truck driver for many years, first for Ti Oil of Ticonderoga and most recently for ARG Trucking of Rensselaer. He was a member of the New York State National Guard of Ticonderoga and a life member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks 1494 of Ticonderoga. He was predeceased by one son, Michael Putnam in 1995. Survivors in addition to his mother, include his wife of 42 years, Janette A. (Johnson) Putnam; one son, Patrick J. Putnam and his wife Ruth of Ticonderoga; two daughters, Debra Harper of Hayes, Va., and Kim Lambert of Keeseville; and one brother, Henry Putnam of New Hampshire. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. The Ticonderoga Elks will conduct ritualistic services Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Prudence Bertolino, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Port Douglas Cemetery of Keeseville. Oct. 25, 2005 at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Boston, Mass., on Nov. 12, 1948, the son of Donald C.
and Olive (Chaulk) Atkins.

MICHAEL T. CLIFFORD, 55, formerly of Ellenburg Center, died
Monday, Oct. 24, 2005 at the Clinton County Nursing Home.
He was born on Long Island, N.Y., on June 11, 1950, the son of Eugene
and Dorothy Mae (Murray) Clifford.
Calling hours will be Friday from 12 to 12:30 p.m. at the Brown Funeral
Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. from the
Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William G. Reamer, chaplain at
CVPH Medical Center, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's
Cemetery.
RAYMOND A. SMART, 82, of the Silver Lake Road, Saranac, died
Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center with his loving family
by his side.
He was born in Saranac, Oct. 20, 1923, the son of Frank and Alice (Rascoe)
Smart.
There will be no public calling hours. A memorial Mass will be
celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Redford
with Rev. Philip T. Allen, pastor of the Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks
and St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook, celebrating. Full military honors
will follow accorded by the Vermont Air National Guard Honor Guard.
Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.
BRIAN H. TROMBLEY, 40, of Route 9N, Plattsburgh and formerly of
Route 9, Keeseville, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at his home in
Plattsburgh.
He was born in Plattsburgh, Aug. 11, 1965, the son of Herman Trombley
and Gloria (Mitchell) Lenendecker.
Calling hours will be held Friday 12 to 1 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral
Home in Keeseville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday
at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Church in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J.
Poissant, pastor, celebrating. Following cremation, burial will be in the
parish cemetery.
