Joyce A. Manor
ALTONA -- Mrs. Joyce A. Manor, 68, of the Alder Bend Road, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at Albany Medical Center Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Altona, N.Y., on June 27, 1937, the daughter of William and Blanche (Clark) LaDue. Joyce enjoyed baking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Angels Church in Altona. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, William and Blanche LaDue; her husband, Kenneth Manor; her brothers, Harold and Earl LaDue; her sisters, Doris LaBarge and Pearl Munson. She is survived by her children: David Manor and his wife Lori of Altona, Randy Manor and his wife Annette of Ellenburg, Patty Therrian and her husband Michael of Ellenburg Depot, N.Y., Tonya Forette and her husband Henry of Altona and James Manor and his wife Nicole of Ellenburg Depot, N.Y.; her brothers, Carl LaDue and his wife Shirley of Chazy, N.Y., and Alfred LaDue and his wife Myrtle of Chateaugay, N.Y.; a sister, Pauline Provost of West Chazy, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Kenny, Anthony, Jordan, Justin, Corey, Darcy, Kelly, Robert and Charlene; a great-granddaughter, Hannah; several nieces and nephews; and a long-time friend, Maurice Brunet of Ellenburg. Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon at Holy Angels Church, Altona. Interment will follow in the family plot in Holy Angels Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to the American Lung Association. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to all who have touched their lives and the life of Joyce.
Shirley Ann Underwood
GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- Shirley "Country Girl" Ann Underwood, 61, of William Street, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, after a three-year battle with cancer. Born on May 28, 1944, in Plattsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret (LaFountain) Carter. Shirley's most precious moments were spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going for long walks. Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie Lynn Gille and her companion Phillip Lauder of Argyle; her sons, Timothy Lee Underwood of Glens Falls, Larry Joe Underwood Jr. and his companion Amy Weatherwax of Glens Falls and Phillip Lance Underwood of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Nichole Underwood of Schuylerville, James Brayman Jr. of Argyle and Larry Joe Underwood III of Glens Falls; her great-grandchildren, Jordon Scott Destefano-Brayman of Argyle and Tiarra Lynn Couture of Argyle; her sister, Rose Bechore of Dannemora, N.Y.; her brother, Anthony Carter and his wife Barbara of Texas; her uncle, Victor La Fountain of Plattsburgh; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St., South Glens Falls, N.Y. 12803. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the funeral home, with a close friend, Jean Malone, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Margaret M. Laperle
KEESEVILLE -- Margaret M. (Ahrensfield) Laperle, M.D., 1525 Highlands Road, Keeseville, N.Y., Orwigsburg, Pa., and Philadelphia, Pa., died at UMASS Memorial Center, University Campus, on Oct. 16, 2005, the Feast of Saint Margaret Mary. She was born in Pottsville, Pa., on Sept. 15, 1958, daughter of the late William and Genevieve (Fishola) Ahrensfield. She was raised in Orwigsburg, Pa., and was a graduate of St. Ambrose Grade School in Schuykill Haven, Pa., and Nativity BVM High School in Pottsville, Pa. She won first place in the State of Pennsylvania High School Science Fair of 1972. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in biology from the College of St. Francis de Sales in Allentown, Pa. She was a researcher at Wistar Institute and the Department of Pathology of Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia. She graduated from Temple University School of Medicine, did her residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia and did her fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian. Dr. Laperle was a nurturing physician who healed the minds and souls of her patients in healing their bodies in the truest sense of the Hippocratic Oath. She is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, Philippe Laperle of Keeseville, N.Y.; her mother, Genevieve Ahrensfield; her brother, Rev. Michael Ahrensfield, pastor of Immaculate Conception in Tremont, Pa.; and her sister, Debra Ahrensfield, M.D., who is a cardiologist in Philadelphia. A memorial Mass will be held on Oct. 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the Catholic Community of Keeseville Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville. Laura Francis Coleman Morrell
ELIZABETHTOWN -- Laura C. Morrell, formerly of Troy, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at the Horace Nye Home, Elizabethtown, N.Y. She was born in Troy, N.Y., on Oct. 3, 1912, daughter of the late Harold and Mabel (Faille) Coleman. Affectionately known as "G-G" to her family and friends, Laura was an Honorary Lifetime PTA member and a longtime member of Memorial Methodist Church, Troy, N.Y. She had worked at the Troy Public Library at both the Main Branch and the Sycaway Branch. She married her husband, Milton C. Morrell of Otego, N.Y., in June 1935. Laura is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ken Robillard of Elizabethtown, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Kristine Egglefield and companion Rob Tefoe of Witherbee, N.Y., and Kia and Shawn LaPier Sr. of Elizabethtown, N.Y.; six great-grandchildren, Heather and Brittany Borden of Elizabethtown, N.Y., Brian Borden Jr., of Witherbee, N.Y., and Shawn Jr., Zachary and Justin LaPier of Elizabethtown, N.Y.; one nephew, M. Burke Coleman and family of Troy, N.Y.; and two special family members, Brian Borden Sr. and Jon Egglefield, both of Elizabethtown, N.Y. Laura was predeceased by her husband, Milton Morrell; brother and sister-in-law, Harold "Bud" and Lenore Coleman; brother Frank Coleman; and nephew Charles Coleman. There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, N.Y. Memorial donations may be made to the United Church of Christ, P.O. CLARENCE ROBERT "PAPA SNED" NORCROSS JR., 75, of 33 Franklin St., Malone, N.Y., died Oct. 19, 2005, surrounded by his family, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt., where he had been admitted earlier in the day. He was born in Malone on Jan. 4, 1930, the son of the late Clarence and Leona (Gareau) Norcross Sr. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. MORTON R.
COOPER, 83, of Colonial Street, Ticonderoga, died Oct. 20, 2005, surrounded by his loving family, at the home of his daughter in Glens Falls. He was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Ticonderoga. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. VASQUEZ, of Summerfield, Fla., died Oct. 14, 2005. She was born on July 30, 1928, in Camo, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Eulalla Marrero Otrtz and Pedro Rodiegus. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army Chapel in Ocala, Fla. The Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ocala, is in charge of arrangements.
