E. Florence NashOCEANSIDE, N.Y. -- E. Florence Nash, 93, of Rockville Centre and formerly of Bouck Street, Dannemora, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at South Nassau Hospital. She was born in Greensboro, N.C., on April 5, 1912, the daughter of John and Isabelle (Layton) Gamble. Survivors include her children, Judith A. Maher of Long Island, N.Y., and June F. Manning of Lake Placid, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Michelle Maher and Lorette Von Essen of Long Island, Timothy Manning of Lake Placid; her great-grandchildren, Mason Judge and Emma Kaitlyn Von Essen of Long Island, Patrick Shaughnessey Manning of Lake Placid. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice F. Nash. Calling hours will be held Monday, Oct. 10th, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Albina L. FavreauPLATTSBURGH -- Albina L. Favreau, 85, of Plattsburgh, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Champlain on June 23, 1920, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Dumas) LaBombard. She was a well known seamstress in the area for many years . She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond L. Favreau; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred and Penny Favreau of Mooers Forks, Marcel and Erin Favreau of Newark, Del.; a daughter and son-in law, Noella and Dale Jones of Leesburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, Laura, Adlai, Corey and Ryan Favreau; and four great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Joseph's Church in Mooers. Interment will be in the parish cemetery and a reception will follow at the parish hall. James L. GrangerPUTNAM STATION, N.Y. -- James L. Granger, 56, of Sunset Lane, Putnam Station, N.Y., died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at his home. He was born Aug. 26, 1949, in Putnam Station, N.Y., the son of Bernard and Helen (Bain) Granger. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at J.P. Carrara & Sons in Middlebury, Vt. James is survived by his wife, Sharon Granger of Putnam Station; his children, Richard Granger of Memphis, Tenn., Sherry Granger of Richmond, Va., Brian Nolan of Moriah, Patrick Nolan of Corinth and Jeff Nolan of Ticonderoga; his brothers, Frederick Granger, Richard Granger and Charles Granger, all of Putnam; and seven grandchildren. He is predeceased by a sister, Hazel Moore; and a brother, Louis Granger. Family and friends wishing to pay their respects to the family may do so on Wednesday, Oct. 12th, at the home of James' brother, Fred Granger, 155 Lake Rd. in Putnam, between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. Arrangements are with the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. Anastasia H. FaddenELIZABETHTOWN -- Anastasia H. Fadden, 93, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital. She was born Oct. 14, 1911, in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., the daughter of Alexander and Melvina (Cheska) Kourofsky. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Alfred Fadden of Elizabethtown; one son and daughter-in-law, Alfred and Rosalyn Fadden of Rochester; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Jean and Larry LaRock of Plattsburgh and Carolyn and Robert Karcher of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Anna D'antuono of Malone and Mary Stunzi of Saranac Lake; four brothers and their wives, John Kourofsky of Dannemora, Alexander and Estelle Kourofsky of Lyon Mountain, Francis and Betty Kourofsky of Silver Bay, Minn., and Walter and Rita Kourofsky of Lyon Mountain; a sister-in-law, Ilene Kourofsky of Lyon Mountain; two grandsons and their wives, Steven and Vince LaRock of Mountainside, N.J., and Paul and Jacqueline LaRock of Brentwood, Tenn.; two granddaughters and their husbands, Lisa and Bill Whalen of Elizabethtown and Meredith and John King of Elizabethtown; seven great-grandchildren, Lily and Wesley Whalen, Ella and Grayson King, Christina, Nathan and Paige LaRock. She was predeceased by one daughter; and three brothers, Stanley, Joseph and Anthony Kourofsky. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at W.M. Marvin's Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Elizabeth's Church, Elizabethtown, NY 12932, or to the High Peaks Hospice, Mineville, NY 12956. Raymond H. Smith Sr.AU SABLE FORKS -- Raymond H. Smith Sr., 75, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Au Sable Forks on April 4, 1930, the son of William and Ethel (Reid) Smith. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and an avid hunter and fisherman. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married his wife Jan. 30, 1959, and is survived by his wife Marion; three sons, Raymond Smith Jr. and Richard Smith of Au Sable Forks and John Smith of Lake Placid; one daughter and son-in-law, Patty Ann and Donald Jacques of Lake Placid; two grandchildren, Dalton and Cole Jacques; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Helen Smith, George and Sylvia Smith, Vince Smith, all of Au Sable Forks and James and Carolyn Smith of West Chazy; a sister, Eleanor of Elizabethtown; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, Clarence, William and Horatio (Bucky) Smith and two sisters, Mary King and Janet Gillian. Calling hours will be Monday, Oct. 10th, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in Au Sable Forks. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 11th, at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Wilmington, N.Y. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Au Sable Forks.
