Gayle D. Branham

PLATTSBURGH -- Gayle D. Branham, 52, of Evergreen Valley Nursing Home, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005.

She was born in Plattsburgh on July 17, 1953, the daughter of Glen and Joyce (Senecal) Branham.

Survivors include her mother, Joyce Branham of Plattsburgh; one sister, Sherry Stranahan of Plattsburgh; one nephew, Andrew Branham of Burlington, Vt.; and five aunts and uncles, Barbara and Winfred Hodil, Ralph and June Senecal, Arthur and Sylvia Senecal, Lawrence and Barbara Senecal and Wanda and Jim Guynup, all of Plattsburgh.

Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery where a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Advocacy and Resource Center.

The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Eva D. Favro

UTICA, N.Y. -- Mrs. Eva D. Favro passed into the hands of the Lord peacefully with her family by her side on Oct. 5th, in Utica, N.Y., at the home of her daughter and son-in-law after a 2 and 1/2-year illness. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, on Dec. 8, 1931, the 11th of 12 children to Mrs. Jessie Rose Martin and Charles Henry Martin. She lived in Montreal for 21 years, where she attended school and worked at Montreal Trust until marrying her husband of 52 years, Joseph Charles Favro and moving to Rouses Point, N.Y., where she has lived her remaining years.

Eva was known as a loving, caring, giving woman, who reached out to those in need with a loving, joyful spirit. She loved her life as a wife and mother of four children. She was known for her great gift of cooking and baking and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Eva and Joe spent the past nine winters at their winter home in Florida, where she made many wonderful new friends. She enjoyed her daily walks as well as swimming and biking.

She was a member of the Rouses Point Presbyterian Church for many years, which she loved and enjoyed. Her church community was an important part of her life where she was involved in many activities and church functions. Throughout the years she treasured her many friendships and they will never be forgotten. During her 2 1/2-year illness, she converted her faith and became a member of the Roman Catholic Church, joining her husband and children.

She is survived by her husband Joseph; son Ted Favro of Rouses Point, N.Y., son Brian Favro, daughter-in-law Kiat Favro and grandchildren Danielle and Justin Favro of El Sobrante, Calif.; son Jason Favro and daughter-in-law Alyssa Favro of Pawtucket, R.l.; daughter Donna Prusko and son-in-law Deacon Richard Prusko of Utica, N.Y.; sister Jessie Howard and brother-in-law Robert Howard of Ontario, Canada; Margaret Lane and brother-in-law Larry Lane of Ontario, Canada; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from Joe's side of the family, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, Jessie Rose Martin and Charles Henry Martin; brothers Charlie, Peter, Bill, Ed, John, Neal, George, David and sister Katie.

Her family wishes to express a special thank you to Hospice Care of New Hartford, N.Y., for their loving care and assistance at her special time of need and her dear friend, Myrna Stotart. A most special thank you is extended to her son-in-law, Deacon Richard Prusko, for lovingly welcoming her into his home and for his great love, generosity, care and for providing her with the Bread of Life each and every day.

Eva's family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413.

Calling hours will be held at Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point on Friday, Oct. 7th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Rouses Point on Saturday, Oct. 8th, at 11 a.m.

Lenora Jesse Jordan

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. -- Lenora Jesse Jordan, 66, of Summerville, S.C., wife of Herbert Jordan, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 8th, at 1 p.m. at the James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, 303 So. Main St., Summerville, S.C. Burial will be held at a later date in New York.

Mrs. Jordan was born July 1, 1939, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., a daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Dudley) Alexander. She was a graduate of Crown Point High School in New York. She was General Manager with Oasis One Stop and was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Roy Gariepy of Bonneau, S.C., a daughter, Beverly Brazell of Lugoff, S.C., a son, Wayne Gariepy of Cottageville, S.C., a daughter, Lea Ann Gariepy of Summerville, S.C., a son, Herbert Ray Jordan of Summerville, S.C., a daughter, Samantha Elizabeth Jordan DeIonaIipy of Pinopolis, S.C., a son, Ryan Giles Jordan of Arkansas, a son, Brian O'Neal Jordan of Arkansas, a daughter, Holly Noel Jordan of Arkansas; two brothers, Douglas Alexander of Port Henry, N.Y., and George "Butch" Alexander of Schuyler Falls, N.Y.; two sisters, Gloria LaRue of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Marcella "Marcie' Macfarlane of Summerville, S.C.; 25 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Deaths:

ALICE ELIZABETH (MOORE) OSIER, 88, of Putts Pond Road, Ticonderoga, died Oct. 5, 2005, at the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga.

Born in Ticonderoga, Jan. 28, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Palmer) Moore.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will take place Wednesday, Oct. 12th, 11 a.m., at the Chilson Community Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga.

RUTH VIVIAN OLSEN, 87, of Indian Kettles, Hague and Brooklyn, N.Y., died Oct. 4, 2005, at her summer residence in Hague.

She was born Aug. 12, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will take place Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Russell Bissell will officiate.

LILLIAN GAYNOR, 65, of School Street, Keeseville, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hamilton Funeral Home.

JOHN L. ANDERSON, 53, of Golf Course Road, AuSable Forks, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at his home under the loving care of his family.

He was born in Hartford, Conn., April 1, 1952, the son of Russell and Mildred (Jones) Anderson.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Monday at the Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks with the Rev. Philip T. Allen, pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
