Doris E. PassinoKEESEVILLE -- Doris E. Passino, 95, formerly of Front Street, Keeseville, died on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born in Keeseville on June 22, 1910, the daughter of Andrew and Emma (Carpenter) Rock. She married Merton Passino on Oct. 31, 1935, in Keeseville. He died previous to her in 1972. Doris worked at AuSable Chasm for over 30 years, prior to retiring in the mid 1980s. She enjoyed board games and cards, but her favorite was playing bingo. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Maxine and Sherwood Robare of Keeseville and Marsha and Brent Morrow of Clifton Park; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Passino of Keeseville; seven grandchildren and spouses, Debbie and Scott Foley of Colchester, Vt., Nancy and Steven Sucharski of Keeseville, Jeffery and Wendy Robare of Peru, Charles Robare, USAF and Pamela Morrow, Brent Morrow Jr. and Beth Morrow, all of Clifton Park; three great-grandchildren, Even and Meggan Foley and Kristy Robare; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents; a son, Roger Passino, 1992; a grandson, Edward Robare, 1988; three brothers, Elmer, Malcolm and Maurice Rock; and two sisters, Vivian Owens and Connie LaMountain. Calling hours will be private and at the convenience of the family. A funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Keeseville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sally White, pastor, officiating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Port Douglas Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Port Douglas Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. Eva Weber WolterWEST CHAZY -- Eva Weber Wolter, 81, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, following a long illness. Born in Hamburg, Germany, on Jan. 20, 1924, Eva and her late husband, Willi H. Wolter, immigrated to the United States in 1952. Together they raised three children in White Plains, N.Y., and Greenwich, Conn. In 1991, she moved to upstate New York to be closer to her children. Eva was very active in her community, volunteering in her children's schools, church, working with "Tag Sales by Encore" and later working in the emergency room at Greenwich Hospital. Eva is survived by her three children, JoAnn Wolter and her husband Steve Knudson of Hinesburg, Vt., Steve Wolter and his wife DaleAnne of West Chazy, N.Y., and Christine (Tina) Glover and her husband Carl of Jeffersonville, Vt.; and six grandchildren, Justin, Brittany, Matthew, Katie, Willi and Cade. She is predeceased by a seventh grandchild, Scott. Throughout her long illness, Eva met the challenge with the same strength, courage and determination she demonstrated throughout her life. Her optimism and sense of humor were a great comfort to all those who cared for her over the past three years. Eva's family is grateful to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh and to Hospice of the North Country for the compassionate care and support given to Eva. Eva's family invites everyone who knew her to come celebrate her life with us at her home on Saturday, Oct. 8 from noon to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center in Eva's memory in care of The Foundation at CVPH Medical Center at 75 Beekman St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
Deaths
CHARLES E. TOWNE, 82, of State Street, Malone, died on Sept. 29,
2005, at his home, surrounded by his family and with the care of Hospice
of the North Country.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1922, in Montreal, Quebec, the son of Charles
and Leah (Dumas) Towne.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on
Monday at 10:30 at Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will follow in the
parish cemetery.
Arrangements are with the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home in Malone.
MARJORIE HELEN LAWRENCE, 71, of Route 9N, AuSable Forks, died
Sept. 30, 2005 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Jamica Plain, Mass., on Aug. 29, 1934, the daughter of
Leslie and Charlotte (Byer) Coolidge.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hamilton
Funeral Home in Keeseville.
TARA LADUKE, 24, of Peasleeville, died Sept. 29, 2005, at
Fletcher Allen Health Care in Vermont.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home. A funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10
a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks.

ROBERT V. AUGUSTINE, 65, died Sept. 29, 2005, at his home.
He was born March 30, 1940, in Oswego, N.Y., the son of Robert V. and
Carol (Schaefer) Augustine.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at the Keene Methodist Church.
The W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of
arrangements.
CHARLES S. REYNOLDS, 73, of 14 William St., Saranac Lake, died
Sept. 30, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Newman, N.Y., on Jan. 31, 1932, the son of Walter and
Jeannette (Bush) Reynolds.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on
Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Bible vigil will be held at 3:45 p.m.
on Monday. A Mass of Christian burial will take place Tuesday at 11:15
a.m. at St. Bernard's Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey Hubbard and the Rev.
Mr. Fred Oberst officiating. A reception will follow at the Fish &
Game Club.
