Floyd J. SmithDEBARY, FLA. -- Floyd J. Smith, Debary, Fla., formerly of Plattsburgh died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at home with family and friends by his side due to complications from a stroke. Floyd was born in Plattsburgh on April 14, 1920, son of Orrin O. Smith and Lina (Merrihew) Smith. Floyd joined the Army, became a Staff Sergeant of Company I of the 26th Infantry. On June 30, 1944, he was awarded a Bronze "Star" Medal for heroic achievement. Floyd traveled between New York and Florida for many years. He loved to bowl, golf, dance, play billiards and guitar, in his later years to play bingo. He also enjoyed the time he spent at Apple Valley Senior Housing in Peru. He had a great love for the church and Mother Cabrini's Shrine. Floyd and his former wife, Alice M. Smith, established and ran the Isle View Motel on the Lake Shore Road in Plattsburgh. Floyd also ran the Palm & Pine Motel in Lake Worth, Fla. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Diane & David Wheeler of Debary, Fla.; by his two granddaughters and their spouses, Tammy and Joe Forget of the Irish Settlement Road in Plattsburgh and by Kim and Paul Wells of Wellington, Fla., by two great-granddaughters, Leah Forget and Courtney Wells; by long time love, Lil Gilbert of Centerville, Ohio; and by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Four Towns Moose Lodge in Debary, Fla. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at 2 p.m. Carlton G. KingPLATTSBURGH -- Mr. Carlton "Carl" G. King, 61, of Main Mill Street, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh on July 6, 1944, the son of George and Mary (Lamora) King. Carl retired from New York State Department of Corrections where he had been an corrections officer at Altona. An avid golfer, Carl was a member of Adirondack Golf Club in Peru. He coached basketball and baseball at St. John's School. Carl also coached Little League Baseball and was formerly president of the Plattsburgh Little League. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Carl was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Mary King; a sister, Audrey Tusa; his brothers-in-law, Robert Bouyea, Kenneth Leavine and George Mousseau. Carl is survived by his wife of 40 years, Brenda (Bouyea) King of Plattsburgh; two sons,; Chris King and his wife Dianne of Morrisonville and Craig King and his wife Jenn of Plattsburgh; his brother, Wayne King and his wife Sheila of Virginia; his sisters, Janet King of Plattsburgh, Phyllis Duquette and her husband Robert of Plattsburgh, Donna Mousseau of Albany, N.Y., and Brenda Duquette and her husband Robert of Beekmantown; four grandchildren, Alex, Cameron, Rhyann and Carter King; his brother-in-law, Clarence Bouyea and his wife Marge of Plattsburgh; his sisters-in-law, Marion Leavine of Plattsburgh, Eileen Bouyea of Plattsburgh, Beverly Singley and her husband Bill of Plattsburgh; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church with the Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux, pastor as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to Hospice of the North Country.

FLOYD J. PARROTT JR., 62, of Shingle Street, Morrisonville, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Chazy, N.Y., Aug. 17, 1943, the son of Floyd Sr. and Gertrude (Bushey) Parrott. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at his home, 323 Shingle Street, Morrisonville. A graveside service will follow in the Schuyler Falls Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. ROBERT
F. JARVIS, 39, of Whitehall Court, Port Orange, Fla., and formerly of Malone, N.Y., died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at the Hospice of
Volusia-Flagler Care Center in Port Orange, Fla. He had been in ill health. He was born in Malone, Jan. 16, 1966, the son of Earl and Janice Bashaw Jarvis Sr. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, with Monsignor Dennis Duprey officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery on the Lake Titus Road in Malone. BROOKS, 81, of Tupper Lake, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005. Born June 15, 1924, she was the daughter of Barney J. and Josephine (Mayotte) Sovey. Calling hours will be held at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
