Helen M. Nephew

WEST CHAZY -- Helen M. Nephew, 91, of Fiske Road, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 at CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Mooers Forks on Aug. 10, 1914, the daughter of John and Agnes (Miller) LaValley.

Helen married Benjamin Nephew in 1933 at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Benjamin died in 1980.

Mrs. Nephew was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Altar Rosary Society of West Chazy.

She worked in packing and shipping for Delegar Corporation for 18 years, retiring in 1988.

Survivors include three sons and four daughters-in-law, Edward and Joyce Nephew of Lady Lake, Fla., Roger and Donna Nephew of West Chazy, Steven and Connie Nephew of Chazy Lake and daughter-in-law, Doris Nephew of West Chazy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Benjamin King of Chazy Lake and Theresa and Joe Baker of Plattsburgh; one daughter-in-law, Eleanor Reeves of West Chazy; two sisters, Irene Nephew of Plattsburgh and Mildred Percy of West Chazy; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons, Lawrence Nephew and Bernard Nephew; and one daughter, Carolyn Nephew; five sisters, Nettie Santori, Ida Hebert, Lillian Blades, Leona Mooso and Mary Goodman; three brothers, Amos LaValley, Zepher LaValley and Edward LaValley.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Wendy Leigh (Miles) Caraway

DES MOINES, IOWA -- Wendy Leigh Caraway, 50, passed away at her home in Des Moines, Iowa, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, of natural causes.

Wendy was born in Santa Barbara, Calif., on May 8, 1955. She was the daughter of Dr. Robert L. Miles, who resides in Albuquerque, N.M., and Marilyn E. Miles, who precedes her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis Caraway; her brother, Scott E. Miles and his wife Cathryn of Atlanta, Ga.; her sister, Jill Miles-Broomhall and her husband Dale, of Tijeras, N.M.; and brother Jason H. Miles of Clemson, S.C. She is also survived by nephews Eric Ladd and Nicholas Vargo and nieces Dana Ladd and Jessica Broomhall.

Wendy was loved very much and will be missed by all. A private memorial will be held at a later date in Albuquerque, N.M.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Wendy's name to your local Alcoholics Anonymous chapter.

LISA J. LAFOUNTAIN, 46, of Rouses Point died Friday, Sept. 16 at her home. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. with a funeral to follow at the M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A full obituary will appear in Monday's Press-Republican.

DONALD LEE MILLER, 61, of 418 Crocus Lane, Lake Clear, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1944 in Potsdam.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jan Blankenship, pastor of the United Community church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery.

ROSS B. WEBB, 90, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at his home.

He was born in Perrys Mills on Oct. 1, 1914, the son of Frank and Rachel (Bateman) Webb.

Arrangements are incomplete with the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

MICHAEL TAYLOR COFFIN, 63, of Hague, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at the Albany Medical Center Hospital of Albany.

He was born in New York City on July 31, 1942.

Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Russell Bissell, pastor of the Hague Wesleyan Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow at the family plot of the May Memorial Cemetery of Hague.
