Christina M. Dennis

WITHERBEE, N.Y. -- Christina M. Dennis was called to join the Lord and her family in heaven on Sept. 6, 2005. She was held by her husband, Raymond Dennis, along with her family and friends when the Lord reached out his hand to take her into his arms.

Christina enjoyed a long and fulfilling life. She loved being surrounded by her family and others who loved her. She enjoyed fishing trips and traveling with her husband, as well as spending quality time with everyone whose lives she touched. She had an abundance of love, wisdom, care and comfort that she shared with everyone around her. Christina's eyes and smile spoke volumes and she will be missed dearly by all of us who shared in her love and joy during her time with us.

Christina was predeceased by her children, William Root, Burton Mason, Lyman Mason and Betty Chiarella.

Grandma -- we love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck -- toujours mon cherie.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, Sept. 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. at the Church of All Saints in Mineville, N.Y. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Swanton, Vt.

Joseph F. Baker

PORT HENRY -- Joseph F. Baker, 61, of 4120 Main St., Port Henry, N.Y., died Sept. 6, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

Joseph was born on Jan. 29, 1944, in Port Henry, N.Y., the son of Willard L. and Sonta G. (Veneto) Baker.

He graduated from Plattsburgh State University.

Joseph taught middle school art at the Medina Central School District in Medina, N.Y. He retired in 1999 after a 32-year career.

He was recently an active member of the Champlain Valley Chorale.

He is survived by his son Erich and his wife Anita; his grandson, Andrew; his brother, Willard J. and his wife Diane; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and many other loved ones.

He was predeceased by his mother, Sonta G. (Veneto) Baker, on July 17, 2005; his father, Willard L. Baker, on Dec. 14, 1999; and his brother, Dominick, on March 1, 2003.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Sept. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Port Henry, N.Y. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Moriah, N.Y.

Memorial donations may be made to the Champlain Valley Chorale, Ticonderoga, N.Y., the Medina Mustang Band Boosters in Medina, N.Y., or the Lance Armstrong Livestrong Foundation.

Madlin E. Breyette

PLATTSBURGH -- Madlin E. Breyette, 48, of Montcalm Avenue, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Plattsburgh on Aug. 14, 1957, the daughter of Oswald and Helen (Rousaw) LaFountain.

Mrs. Breyette worked as a clerk for Hills Department Store until its closing and also at St. Mary's of the Lake Church Rectory.

Survivors include three brothers, Lowell LaFountain and his wife Lisa of Rouses Point, Gary LaFountain and his companion Ida Howe of Chazy and Michael LaFountain of West Chazy; six sisters, Lucy LaFountain and her companion Albert Beshaw of Plattsburgh, Mae Agnew and her companion Frank Grogg of Plattsburgh, Florence Lavene and her husband Fred of Morrisonville, Edith Martin of Champlain, Lillian David and her companion Timothy Chapple of Mooers and Mary LaFountain and her companion Geo Tallman of Beekmantown; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her late husband, Harold Underwood; three brothers, Larry LaFountain, Oswald "Sonny" LaFountain and Lawrence Steven LaFountain; one sister, Bonnie LaFountain; and a brother-in-law, Albert Martin.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon in St. Peter's Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Deaths

LENA WARNAU FOX of Sydney, Australia, died on Sept. 2, 2005, at the Sutherland Hospital, Sydney, Australia, after a short illness.

She was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on Feb. 7, 1909.

Services will be held in Australia.

Local arrangements are with the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.

RITA L. JOHNPEER, 78, of the Highland Road, Keeseville, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Burlington, Vt., June 28, 1927, the daughter of Houghton and Gladys (Fuller) Pray.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.
