George H. DuShane
Crown Point —
George H. DuShane, 93, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at his son's home
in Crown Point.
He was born July
14, 1912, in Crown Point, N.Y., the son of Hervey and Martha (Ploof)
DuShane.
George retired
from International Paper Co. after 26 years of service in the wood yard.
He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. George was also a farmer
and logger for many years.
George was
predeceased by his wife, Beatrice (Dunlap) DuShane.
He is survived by
three children, Henry DuShane of Crown Point, Gail Tuthill of Crown
Point and Raymond DuShane, also of Crown Point; George also has three
stepdaughters, Joyce Rogers of Witherbee, Rita Nesbitt of Mineville and
Norma Russell of Crown Point; 19 grandchildren; several
great-grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.
Besides his
parents and wife, George is predeceased by his brother, Howard DuShane.
Calling hours will
be held Monday, Sept. 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in
Port Henry. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Ironville Cemetery, Crown Point, N.Y.
M. Daniel Hallahan,
80, of North Lawrence, N.Y., died Sept. 2, 2005, at his home while under
the loving care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
He was born in
North Lawrence on Sept. 10, 1924, the son of the late Cari and Vivian
(McLaughlin) Hallahan.
Calling hours will
be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in
North Lawrence.
A Mass of
Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence
Church in North Lawrence, with the Rev. Stephen Gratto officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery.
