Rita Duquette Hadjo
Saranac Lake —
Rita Duquette Hadjo, age 85, of 121 Main St., Saranac Lake, died
Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at her home.
Born in Saranac
Lake, N.Y., on July 17, 1920, she was the daughter of William and
Catherine (LeBeau) Duquette.
Mrs. Hadjo had
been a life-long resident of Saranac Lake and had been employed as a
bookkeeper for Saranac Lake Electric, Ryan Electric and Robare &
Sons, retiring in the early 1980s. She had been a volunteer at St.
Bernard's School, enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, reading,
tending her flowers and tomato plants, feeding her birds and spending
time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by
her daughter, Gail Rogers Rice of Saranac Lake; two granddaughters,
Suzanne Rice and her husband Clyde Baker and their son, Samuel Alex
Baker of Saranac Lake and Barbara Rice and her husband Chad McCarthy and
their son, Cal McCarthy Rice of Saranac Lake; two sisters, Eleanor
Vitullo and her husband Camillo of Burlington, N.J., and Shirley McGill
and her husband Howard of Lake Clear; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded
in death by her husband, Alex L. Hadjo, on Feb. 16, 1984; her father,
William Duquette; her mother, Catherine LeBeau Duquette; her brother
William Duquette and her brother John Duquette.
Calling hours will
take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 2, 2005,
from 4 to 7 p.m. A Bible vigil will be held at 5 p.m. Friday. A Mass of
Christian burial will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s
Church, with Father Jeffrey Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at
St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake. Following the burial, a
reception will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Hotel Saranac.
Friends wishing to
remember Mrs. Hadjo may make memorial contributions to Saranac Lake
Ecumenical Food Pantry, the Tri Lakes Humane Society or the NCCC
Foundation in care of the funeral home.
Gary
Eugene Frederick,
55, of Miner Farm Road, Chazy, died on Aug. 25, 2005, at his home, as
the result of a fire.
He was born in
Olean, N.Y., on March 1, 1950, son of Arthur Richard and Louise Glendora
(Smith) Frederick.
A graveside
service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in St. Peter's Cemetery in
Plattsburgh.
Arrangements with
Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
Dawn
W. Seeley, 44,
of 33 Dupra Way, Constable, N.Y., died Aug. 31, 2005, at the Massena
Memorial Hospital, as a result of an automobile accident in Hogansburg,
N.Y.
She was born in
Malone, N.Y., March 28, 1961, the daughter of Gary and Luva (Reome)
Reynolds Sr.
Calling hours will
be Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home
in Malone. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the
funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Koletas officiating. Burial will
be in the Morningside Cemetery in Malone.
