Jenna Michelle Cripe
Newberry, S.C. —
Jenna Michelle Cripe, 17, of Newberry, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005.
Born in Elkhart,
Ind., she was a daughter of Keith Cripe and Deanna Seymour Womack.
She was a senior
at Newberry High School, an honor roll student, a member of Young Life,
president of the Newberry Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America,
district vice president of the South Carolina Future Business Leaders of
America, a member of the Beta Club and a student trainer for the
Newberry High School Football Team. She was also the National Beta Club
Winner in Oratory.
Surviving, in
addition to her mother of Newberry and her father of Indiana, are
brothers, Darrin and Cameron; a sister, Katelyn; and her maternal
grandparents, Ron and June Seymour of Newberry, S.C., formerly of
Plattsburgh, N.Y.
Memorials may be
made to the Riverside Zoo, 500 Wildlife Parkway, Columbia, SC 29210,
where she recently served an apprenticeship.
Elizabeth M. Duquette
mooers —
Elizabeth M. Duquette, 91, of Mooers, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2005, at the
home of her daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Ed Bosley.
She was born in
Detroit, Mich., April 1, 1914, the daughter of John and Julia (Schwartz)
Stegner.
She was employed
as an operator at the Champlain Telephone Company in Mooers for several
years. She also operated a greenhouse and assisted her husband Lucien
with the family farm. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in
Mooers and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
She is survived by
two sons and a daughter-in-law, Delor Duquette and his companion Eugena
of Mooers and Lucien Jr. and Betty Duquette of Zephyrhills, Fla.; five
daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Norbert Genereax of Toronto,
Ontario, Rita and Louis Latour of Zephyrhills, Fla., Rose and Donald
Colgan of Mooers Forks, Theresa and Ed Bosley of Mooers and Bernadette
and Lionel DeCoste of Mooers; 23 grandchildren; and many
great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband,
Lucien J. Duquette Sr. died in 1977; and a son, Robert died in 1957. A
brother, David; and two sisters, Virginia and Ruth, also died earlier.
Calling hours will
be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral
Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1
p.m. Wednesday from St. Joseph’s Church in Mooers. Interment will
follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
William G. Whyman
ALBANY — William
G. Whyman, 51, of Greenway North, Albany, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005, in
Newcomb, N.Y.
Born in
Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Dec. 15, 1953, he was the son of William and Edna
(Furnia) Whyman.
William was a 1975
graduate of Plattsburgh State College. He was a veteran of the Navy,
serving from 1975 until 1979.
Following the
service he worked for several years in the commissary at several
prisons. Later he was employed in the utility regulation department for
New York State in Albany, N.Y., for many years. His favorite hobby was
working on cars.
He is survived by
his mother, Edna Whyman of Standish, N.Y.; six brothers and sisters,
Donna Eads of Atlanta, Ind., Robert Whyman of Henniker, N.H., Carolyn
Furnia of Standish, N.Y., Michael Whyman of Standish, N.Y., Kevin Whyman
of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Elaine Peralta of Standish, N.Y.; several
nieces and nephews; and two close friends, Richard Garrow and Dick
Rabideau.
He was preceded in
death by his father, William Whyman; his niece, Sara Pekrul; and his
stepfather, Robert Koschak.
No services are
planned.
Friends wishing to
remember William may make memorial contributions to St. Michael’s
Church in Standish, NY 12952.
Arrangements were
with the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.
Doris Jeanette Price
TICONDEROGA —
Doris Jeanette Price, 83, of Price Road, passed away peacefully on
Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga.
Born in Syracuse,
Oct. 29, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Bertha Mae
(Graves) Benson.
She was a graduate
of the Crouse Irving Hospital School of Nursing in Syracuse and was an
enlisted U.S. Army-Air Corp nurse during World War II.
She married
Francis W. Price Sr., on July 7, 1945. Her husband passed away in 1998.
Mrs. Price was a
member of the former First Congregational Church of Ticonderoga and the
Essex County Grange.
She was employed
as an operating room nurse at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of
Ticonderoga for many years.
She raised two
children and worked with her family on the Price Farm on Hague Road
until her death.
Mrs. Price loved
to watch the birds at her feeders, enjoyed the company of all those who
came to visit and especially loved putting her feet in the ocean on a
hot day. She also enjoyed playing scrabble with her sisters.
Survivors include
one daughter, Susan J. Valaitis and her husband Victor of Ballston Spa;
one son, Francis W. Price Jr. and his wife Patty of Ticondeorga; two
sisters, Marian Mereweather of Saratoga Springs and Jean Brou of
Slidell, La.; one sister-in-law, Eva Benson, wife of her deceased
brother, John of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jennifer Martin
and her husband Kevin of Pennsylvania, Brian Price and his wife Tracy of
Ticonderoga, Erica Harrington and her husband Stephen of Connecticut,
John Valaitis and his wife Jennifer of Virginia and Scott Price of
Plattsburgh; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan, McKenzie and Molly
Price, Ethan Harrington and Amanda Martin. She is also survived by
several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and
friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan
Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin Street, Ticonderoga. A funeral service will
take place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Mr.
Elliott A. Shaw, will officiate. Interment will follow at the family
plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

her memory may be made to the Essex County Office for the Aging Meals on
Wheels Program, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.
Roland Lattrelle
DELTONA — Roland
Lattrelle, 48, of West Wellington Drive, son of Raymond and June
Lattrelle, a master mechanic at Browning Service Center, died Thursday,
Aug. 18, 2005, while at work.
Mr. Lattrelle was
born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., and moved to this area in 1977 from
Keeseville, N.Y.
He enjoyed NASCAR,
working on cars and his home.
Survivors include
his companion of 10 years, Wendy Bray; two stepdaughters, Shayanne and
Rianne, both of Deltona; a brother, Raymond of Louisville, Ky.; and two
sisters, Wanda Lorenz of Saucier, Miss., and Donna Decker of
Plattsburgh, N.Y.
Roland was laid to
rest in Deland, Fla., along side his mother.
A Mass will be
said on Sept. 23, at 8 a.m. at Our Lady Victory Academy Church in honor
of his memory.
SHIRLEY (FORTIER)
SCHWARTZ, 84, formerly
of Ravena, died, Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at her home in Freehold.
Shirley was born
in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., on Aug. 1, 1921, to the late Henry and Ida
Fortier.
A funeral Mass was
held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at St. Patrick’s Church, Ravena.
There was no calling hours. Burial took place at St. Bernard’s
Cemetery in Lyon Mountain on Friday, Aug. 26. Funeral arrangements were
made under the direction of the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena.
