Marion R. Gamelin
CHAMPLAIN —
Marion R. Gamelin, 86, of Champlain passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005,
at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.
She was born July
25, 1919, in Champlain, the daughter of the late Arthur and Josephine (Senacle)
Grimshaw.
Her husband,
Lawrence F. Gamelin predeceased Marion.
Survivors include
two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Patsy Gamelin of Arizona, Bruce
and Lisa Gamelin of Coopersville; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda
and Gary Babbie of Rouses Point; one brother, Edward Grimshaw of Sunlake,
Ariz.; one sister, Theresa Boire of Chazy; seven grandchildren, 10
great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will
be Friday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in
Champlain.
A Mass of
Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in
Champlain.
Mary Patricia Kendrick
Chase
ASHEVILLE, N.C.
— Mary Patricia Kendrick Chase, known to her friends as Mary Pat, 75,
of Asheville, N.C., died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at her home in
Asheville, N.C.
She was born in
Burlington, Vt., the daughter of Joseph and Adelaide (Martel) Kendrick.
Mary Pat was
raised in Lake Placid, N.Y., and was a graduate of Lake Placid High
School class of 1948 and then attended Albany Business College. She was
chairperson of the Fresh Air Fund in Westport, Conn., from 1965 to 1970.
She was instrumental in organizing a concert where proceeds were used
for a supply airlift of food and clothing in 1972 to Biafra. Mary Pat
was very active in the St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church in Westport,
Conn. Mary and Jim have enjoyed their retirement in Asheville, N.C., for
the past 17 years including numerous activities and friends at the
Asheville Country Club.
In addition to her
parents she was preceded in death by a son, Damien Hopkins.
She is survived by
her husband, Dr. James A. Chase of Asheville, N.C.; three sons, Paul
Hopkins of Charleston, S.C., Ted Chase of Chicago, Ill., Jed Chase of
Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Catherine Chase of Urbana, Ind.; two
brothers, Joseph Kendrick of Lake Placid, N.Y. and John Kendrick of
Stockholm, Sweden; two sisters, Therese Patnode of Lake Placid, N.Y. and
Agnes Reiss of Westport, Conn. She is also survived by three
grandchildren.
Calling hours will
be held Thursday, Aug. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in
Lake Placid, N.Y. A Bible vigil will be held at the funeral home
Thursday Evening at 7:45 p.m.
A Mass of
Christian burial will be held Friday, Aug. 26, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Agnes
Church in Lake Placid. The Rev. Joseph Morgan will officiate. Cremation
will follow. Burial will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, at 9:30 a.m. at St.
Agnes Cemetery in Lake Placid.

Stephen A. Lovely
BRISTOL —
Stephen A. Lovely, age 50, died unexpectedly in his home on Monday Aug.
22, 2005.
He was born Jan.
4, 1955, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the son of Stephen and Irene (Favro)
Lovely.
Steve had been
employed by Statz and Harrop, Inc. for the past 18 years. He was a
member of Painters Local 802 in Madison and the International Painters
and Glazeries Allied Trades Union. He was an artist when it came to
woodworking and stained glass as well as his dry wall finishing. In his
spare time he had enjoyed parachuting, cooking, the outdoors and
spending time with his family and friends. On June 18, 1994, Steve was
united in marriage with Gloria Fisher-Dahl in Sun Prairie.
In addition to his
wife Gloria, survivors include two sons, Alexander and Nicholas of
Rhinelander; one stepdaughter, Heather (Mike) Olson of Spring Green; one
stepson, Phillip (Brianna) Fisher of Token Creek; two grandchildren,
Hanna and Brittany; and one sister-in-law, Judy (Stuart) Allen of
Prairie Du Sac.
He was preceded in
death by his parents.
Services will be
held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at the Cress Funeral Home where
friends may call from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Reverend Mary Pharmer will
officiate.
In lieu of
flowers, the family prefers memorials in Stephen’s name.
Raymond J. Gagnier
WEST CHAZY —
Raymond J. Gagnier, 80, of West Church Street, passed away peacefully
after a long illness on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at the CVPH Medical
Center.
He was born in
Altona, on March 24, 1925, the son of Joseph and Marie (Ezero) Gagnier.
Mr. Gagnier was a
member of St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy. He was also a life member
of both Veterans of Foreign War Post 125 and American Legion Post 20.
Raymond married
the former Elizabeth "Betty" O’Hearn on Aug. 31, 1946, at
St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy. He was a rural letter carrier for
the West Chazy Post Office for 20 years.
Survivors include
his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Gagnier of West Chazy; one son, J.
Michael Gagnier and his wife Connie of West Chazy; a daughter-in-law,
Sandra Gagnier of Peru; three granddaughters, Mrs. David (Andrea)
Lundberg of Greenwich, N.Y., Mrs. Jamie (Heather) Deno of West Chazy,
Katherine Gagnier of Altona; one grandson, Patrick Gagnier of Willsboro;
one great-granddaughter, Bianca Deno of West Chazy; one brother, Rene
Gagnier and his wife Ruth of Peru; one stepbrother; and several half
brothers and sisters; one sister, Laura Weightman of West Chazy; one
stepsister, Mrs. Calvin (Joyce) Stone of West Chazy; and several
step-grandchildren; stepgreat- great-grandchildren; and nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased
by one son, D. Patrick Gagnier; and two brothers, Joseph and Donald
Gagnier.
Calling hours are
private and at the convenience of the family.
A public funeral
service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Walker Funeral
Home Chapel. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A reception will
follow at his home in West Chazy.
Memorial donations
may be made to St. Joseph’s Altar Fund.
THELMA F. GOKEY,
89, of Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Uihlein Mercy
Center in Lake Placid.
She was born Nov.
15, 1915, in Jersey City, N.J.
Calling hours will
be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fortune-Keough Funeral
Home in Saranac Lake.
A funeral service
will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in
Saranac Lake. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bloomingdale.
MAUDE LAURA LAMICA,
67, of John Street, Chateaugay, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at the
Franklin County Nursing Home, Malone, N.Y.
Calling hours will
be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 1 to 3
p.m.
A memorial service
will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Eleanor
Bellows, officiating.
Burial will take
place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chateaugay.

ADRIAN C. EDMUNDS,
96, of Keene Valley, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at his home on Johns
Brook Lane.
He was born Feb.
5, 1909, in Keene Valley, the son of Clarence and Beatrice (Tryon)
Edmonds.
No calling hours
will be held.
A funeral service
will be held Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at 4 p.m. at the Keene Valley
Congregational Church. Interment for the extended family will be
Saturday, at 9 a.m. in Norton Cemetery in Keene.
