Marcel B. Bedard

POESTENKILL — Marcel B. Bedard, 74, of Garfield Road died on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a short illness.

Born and raised in Champlain, N.Y., he was the son of the late Raymond and Roseanna Cayer Bedard and husband of Bonnie Goodermote Bedard of Poestenkill and the late Denise Bouchard Bedard.

Marcel had resided in the Poestenkill area for the past 40 years and had retired earlier this year from Roxy Cleaners in Albany where he had been a plumber and maintenance man.

Marcel was a communicant of St. Judes Church in Wynantskill and a former communicant of St. Mary's Church in Champlain.

Survivors in addition to his wife, include his children, Michael (Ann) Bedard of Averill Park, N.Y., Marcel "Paul" (Margie) Bedard of Stockbridge, Ga., Maurice (AnnMarie) Bedard of Averill Park, N.Y., Dawn (Russell) Leitheuser of Galway, N.Y., and George (Jamie) Orton of Berlin. His siblings, Theresa Thorton of West Chazy, N.Y., Claire Clark of Champlain, Gabriel Bedard of New Hampshke, James Bedard of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Real Bedard of Lacolle, Quebec, Canada, Anita Giroux and Peter Bedard both of Chazy, N.Y. Also survived by 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Marcel was the brother of the late Clement and Gerald Bedard.

Funeral Friday 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Champlain, N.Y., where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered.

Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm St., Champlain, N.Y., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Champlain, N.Y.

Rhett Carroll Schuler, 50, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

The family has requested no flowers.
